Uncompressed version of the Elder Blood Trail.

Enjoy. :)

Thanks but we all know the issues are not a result of video compression.

Either the trailer has some placeholder assets, or there were some issues with loading assets during the recording, or Witcher 3 is brutally downgraded. The console excuse is also not valid since both consoles have games that look a LOT better than this (The frost guys).

Since the trailer is very inconsistent in quality (the entire scene of sword fighting Geralt looks great)
I am willing to be optimistic still that the issues we saw aren't meant to be there in the final game.

VGX trailer has really become overrated, hasn't it? It was an oversharpened mess with one nice scene.

Also, there was a graphic fuck up in literally every shot of SoD trailer.
I disagree. VGX was, for me, the apsolutely best thing I ever saw in any video game. I'm not talking texture quality so much as the atmosphere of nearly all of the scenes.

SoD had some hiccups, yes, but nowhere near as many as this trailer (the unconpressed version).

At this point, I'm not sure if VGX never should have happened, or the game awards one.

In a new video it looks much better (excluding a couple things that could go wrong during rendering and making a video - like a fake, hasty made scenes created for the purpose of these video). There is no reason to think it would look worse than from the long gameplay we have seen. Even if it won't be perfect at the premiere, they will fix this in no time like they always did in witches games. Why bother now wasting time on complaints - cdpr at this point surely knows what is expected from their game.

Way to move the goalposts. I made no claim about which game was better. I was talking about graphics, and DA:I is laughing at this trailer, so is Witcher 2 for that matter.

DA:I has better graphics but they missed the aesthetics and art design by a mile, at least.

After seeing these screencaps I'm inclined to believe that all footage we saw from the game ever since reveal is real and will be on release, but also that the quality varies from scene to scene, different times of the day cycle, effects, etc., so much, that all the bad looking parts are also real.

Its an irregular looking game i guess. Even TW2 looked just ok sometimes, and like CGI in others.

So now the question is, just how much of the game will look like the best parts, and how much like the worst ones...

Well that is a bit of a relief as it does look substantially better uncompressed. But as others have said, there's variable quality. Details and lighting in particular are lacking. Some of the Hunt's armors are still low res and there's a disparity in facial detail. The guy in the beginning looks way better than anyone else. The lighting, his wrinkles - everything looks crisp. Not so with Geralt and Yen. Some areas are flat and lifeless in the environment. So I don't know, a mixed bag. CDPR may have shot themselves in the foot with the SOD trailer by culling the very best assets in the game and presenting them under ideal lighting.

Not sure if anyone has a better SOD trailer than I do. I have the GOG download. Lambert's model looks similar to me to this trailer in it

There is literally no difference between MPC-HC (even with MadVR if that's what you're implying) and VLC.
Here's a comparison.
One is VLC, one is MPC-HC with MadVR, one is just MPC-HC and another is MPC with EVR.
Tell me which is which, you really can't.

Ok, so my conclusion (if that means anything...) is that there is a chance that something went wrong with some of the scenes, as the many screenshots shows, some parts look great, nice textures, good lighting, ect... while other part look horrendous, with very sloppy textures (on a main character!) with very bad/non-existent lighting, it's all over the place, like if parts of the trailer were took with high settings and other on minimum settings, is there a downgrade? meh, if there is one it is not very big I think, the texture of the leaders (or whatever they are called) of the wraith look way too bad compared to the rest, it's clear that it is not how it should look.

I mean, heck, this:View attachment 8204

Something is really, really wrong with gamers and their priorities these days. Dozens of pages and hundreds of comments about a possible "downgrade" in visual quality but almost nobody cares about that CDPR got Ciri's magical abilities wrong or that Eredin's voice is laughable at best...

Last time I used VLC it had huge issues with artifacting really badly randomly. Maybe they fixed that but I still see a lot of criticism for VLC because of that. Like, I'd be watching a movie or anime and all the sudden it will all become blocks and I'd have to rewind it to get it to go away. It's not happening in these witcher images, just a general problem I have with it. Google vlc artifacts and you'll see images of what I mean.

I think we've come to accept the inconsistencies between the books and the games.

The user Vulcano's assistant on Neogaf has added object motion blur to some shots, and they are indeed better looking - personally I really like that effect in games, even if he is used to hide some bad textures

The new vid its encouraging...a bit of A mixed bag for overall quality but noticeably improved over the award stream. Nice of the devs to address quickly. Just over 2.5 months to go!

Personally, I will never ever accept that. It's like telling a Star Wars fan that in the next movie Han Solo will be fighting with a light saber and using Jedi tricks or whatever. Stay true to the lore or make your own IP I would say.

And even differences between books and games don't justify Eredin's voice. That cartoony-super-villain-all-badass-generic-low-non-human-voice is basically the opposite of the traditional realistic and immersive character design and writing.

Sorry for the off-topic, continue with the graphical stuff if you like...

Makes no difference and art direction is purely opinion, plus the snow scenes in Inquisition blow what's on show in this trailer away. The point is, Red Engine 3 looks inferior to DA:I based on what we've seen this year. And to make matters worse, Red Engine 2 in Wither 2 looks better. There is a serious issue with this engine, I'd say it's not suited to open world.
