Something is really, really wrong with gamers and their priorities these days. Dozens of pages and hundreds of comments about a possible "downgrade" in visual quality but almost nobody cares about that CDPR got Ciri's magical abilities wrong or that Eredin's voice is laughable at best...
Ahem, no, actually not. DA:I has a lot of graphical weaknesses. Also the amount of detail is pretty low, especially in urban settings. No comparison to for example Assassin's Creed Unity which easily beats DA:I in overall visual quality. Red Engine 3 may come close but it also has its weaknesses like facial design and animations and some lightning problems. Talking about textures is pretty pointless without knowing on which version the cutscenes are based and whether PC will offer better textures in the end.Red Engine 3 looks inferior to DA:I based on what we've seen this year.
And no again. The gameplay demonstration from E3 actually looked better than gameplay from Witcher 2.And to make matters worse, Red Engine 2 in Wither 2 looks better.

Well, I'm really tired and want to go sleep. I am disappointed with the wild hunt models, but if this was a rush job then a lot of this footage may be old. Yes, I know. Shitty excuse and all that. The famitsu screenshots weren't a rush job though, they were printed in a magazine and released shortly after. They are a drastic improvement over the E3 build and are the last official screenshots we've gotten. I am holding onto a single string that is those famitsu shots. Two of them are shots we can directly compare and I don't think that's unintentional.
What was the last real trailer before this one? Other than the intro? Wasn't it Sword of Destiny? And this video was never planned till recently? So they had no new trailers planned until probably the launch trailer. They had screenshot batches planned though most likely.
Again off-topic (for the last time, sry again): I didn't lose a word about Yen's voice (it's Yen, not Jen). It's Eredin's voice which is downright terrible. And I listed the reasons for that opinion in my long word-creation.Well, in these kind of complaints you can at least put some objectivity behind your arguments.
On the other side, I can really explain why i like or dislike the VA's of Jen and Eredin (i like them a lot actually, hearing Jen's mature voice brought about a huge sigh of relief). And Ciri, no one knows exactly what she's like now, so much time passed since we last saw her in a book. Could she have developed new powers in a not-lore-breaking way or is it going to be used for convinience? That we cant possibly know from a few snippets of footage.
You must have been looking at something completely different from what I saw. How can you sit there with a straight face and say what we see in the above clip is superior to DA:I? It's a patently false statement. And why would they be showing anything other than their best less than three months out?
And yet it still didn't look as good as what was shown in the VGX trailer
Yeah, DA Inquisition has way better textures
Ahem, read again. I talked about the actual gameplay we've seen, not about some cutscene trailer. You must have been looking at something completely different from what I saw. And DA:I just objectively has a lot of graphical weaknesses as well. Bad textures in some places, lacking sparpness, low abount of details, low polygon models sometimes, lightning issues (especially with too much bloom and reflections and stuff), problems with faces and so on.
I though refuse to compare gameplay of a final PC version of a video game on maximum setting to some short cutscenes of a beta version of game from which we don't even know the quality settings or platform. Kind of pointless...
