The Witcher 3 will look incredible on PC. It is going to look worse on PS4 and Xbox One. That is just the reality. Was the entire game downgraded for all platforms? Highly doubtful considering CDPR is a PC-centric developer and loves their long-established fan base. I am not concerned. A trailer is a trailer. Honestly, there is so many other facets of TW3 to look forward to than just eye candy visuals. That's only a part of what makes the franchise great, and a minor one at that.
I know they're a PC-centric developer. But the product they're producing is obviously not. Only The Witcher 1 was PC centric.
If they released The Witcher 3 with normal RPG UI for keyboard+mouse inputs and then port over to consoles later on, then I can say it's PC-centric. But when the UI is made for controllers and the graphics/experience suppose to be similar for all platforms, then it is console centric (PC downgrades to console level). This doesn't just affect the graphics but also gameplay and features.
For this and the fact that they ditched the idea of a separate UI for the PC, make it seems like they're ditching their fanbase that made them big in the first place, in order to cater toward more of the casuals (more money but less quality). This is the only thing I don't like about CDPR.
I think if the Witcher 3 was created for PC first without consoles in mind, it could have been a lot better and with a faster release. And then they could have port over an updated version for consoles with more time to optimize, similar to The Witcher 2.
They have been complaining about the XBoxOne port, just like other developers, and I think that's what been holding them back. Deadline is a bitch... they can't even do a proper trailer because of crunchtime it seems. But I think the game will look better than the trailer (quality is inconsistent) and should look more like the Famitsu screenshots since those screenshots are from actual gameplay, while the trailer is just a trailer that was made from the game's graphic engine.
