Lets say CDPR is not very CLEAR with what is what and why certain quality issues exist and in other places the graphics are top notch. We had the same problem with responses to the alchemy system and some other question we had.
We do not clearly know what platform or build the different scenes are from and we do know it is hard to make a such good-looking open world. Rumors on different pages as well as those strangely low-res screenshots that were released a while back made a lot of people nervous, maybe especially because multiple games now promised and showed things they could not hold (ACU, WD, Alien Colonial Marines and a few others) and this has become a common business practice. Maybe also because we know CDPR took a lot on their plates.
Confusing or half-truth statements, avoiding straight answers and unexplained quality inconsistencies rustle up some of the people here and they have a right to be at least insecure, I completely understand that.
On the one hand we have beautiful graphical fidelity, a good framerate, great story bits and pieces and awesome-sounding mechanic/system-concepts for the game. On the other hand we still have unanswered question or confusing statements concerning parts of the game that should already be finished IF they want to release it in February. I said it once before, I say it again, I do not mind another delay, IF this is what they absolutely need to release the game in a good quality. Quality over quantity and release time all the way. No matter how long it takes. They should just not pretend everything is fine if it is not.
Yes, probably a lot of us are stressed out because of nothing and in the end CDPR will deliver a great game. All I am saying is I understand why people are insecure, we got a lot of contradictory facts and statements flying around that should be cleared up. And if CDPR says "sorry, we didn't finish system X yet" that is OKAY, as long as they are convinced they will make it in time. And if CDPR says "sorry, we have NO idea how those low-res textures and that terrible frost-effect happened, we have to analyze that" than that is okay, as long as they know they can fix it before release. And if they say "look, some builds we used are older, others newer, because some regions/parts are still in the old build and are only near-finished in terms of polishing, texture, etc" than that is also okay, if they can assure us they can make it all until the game goes gold and is released in February.
But they need to say something. COMMUNICATE. Just go out there and reassure us. Just tell us "hey guys, the thing is that and that way, we got it all fixed till release, we are sure. And if not we will work on a day 1 patch" or "hey, we just need more time". They just have to TALK to us.
Good would be a strong, solid and totally true statement of CDPR clearly telling us what went wrong or what the problem is or how the system works or if they are finished with part X or Y of the game or not and then everything would be CLEAR for a change.
