They also have wrong priorities in mind.
I dont need 10k NPC´s if I cant play the game because it stutters so bad.

Exactly right. The phrase "don't care" is used all over software and hardware engineering and it usually means that a particular kind of control flow is not executed or a particular value is never read in a particular case.

(This reminds me of the "climategate conspiracy" where use of the word "trick" in an email caused a stir among a whole lot of journalists ignorant of the fact that the phrase is used by mathematicians all the time and has nothing to do with deceiving anyone.)

Really? Watch Dogs problems weren't a conspiracy..... is the most famous fact in gaming downgrade. The problem isn't that phrase is the fact that don't care, no matters how you put it.

But this is supposedly off topic..

I agree with you, Fox. But yeah, it is off-topic. We should remain focused on CDPR.

A little disappointed. You would think 3 months before release we would see completed game and amazing visuals.

...when even the latest footage of Uncharted 4 disappoints you know where the fault lies. I just hope CDPR doesn't downgrade the PC version. Perhaps they will be obligated to do it...a depressing thought.

Is this a TW3 screenshot? Apart from the horrendous JPG artifacting, it looks great (lighting is top notch).

You mean Unity? I don't know about you but the game only very rarely stutters on my PC. You just need some really good PC tech to fully enjoy the game. I wouldn't call that "wrong priorities". I would even call it the opposite - they finally tried to get gaming and tech in games a bit forward. For years we PC gamers complained that consoles hold us back and once companies finally program some demanding new features we complain again because we don't want to buy new hardware. I don't think that this is the right signal from the PC gaming community to developers. On the opposite, we should embrace them for at least trying, even if the tech has some rough edges.

To be honest I'd rather have a great looking Witcher 3 with A LOT of fully animated and lifelike NPCs on screen, a lot of sophisticated, animated vegetation on screen and ultra-sharp textures, with the newest iteration of shaders included and so that demands a pretty powerful PC to even be able to enjoy the game without stuttering or bigger problems than a dumbed down game that works on some old PCs as well. I still remember the times when games like Doom even demanded players to buy a CD-ROM drive back in the time because the game files were to big to fit on floppy disks. People praised the devs back in the time for pushing both technology and the feature set. Nowadays we tend to complain about everything instead of being happy about new features and great graphics first and rightfully criticize some technical hiccups later and I don't like that trend tbh... ;)

after seeing the uncharted 4 gameplay, if some fan of the witcher is worried about the downgrade and sees that uncharted 4 gameplay...... i fear for his life. (?)

It's called Cinematic Depth of Field I guess, I'm not expert either, but I know they use it to set the focus on a scene, to guide the player's eye where they want. Like is this scne from AC Unity:

I said it, unity works very bad, uses just 4 cores/threads, the crowd simulations are worked by the CPU, and that people look like ps3 at very close and ps2 characters at 10 meters.

This game will look better than Unity even with a ubisoft lvl downgrade, that i don't think will happen.

I'm sorry. I wasn't criticizing the game, I was just showing an effect used in every modern game, which might be why the fire seem blurry on that scene from last trailer.

I thought it's something recent. Well then, downgrade is real, i'd say.

Well.......is just too hard to discuss here for not saying almost impossible, sticked to the topic about the game graphics downgrade but ...not enough, i think is some lvl of downgrade, some effects disappeared like ambient occlusion, others aren't really a downgrade like Speed Tree, this thing that we don't know if is bad texturing or texture popping.

I don't know if i'm getting the game know and it's not all because the game itself.

i'm out.

That character model looks like it's from The Witcher 2. The lighting is better in the Famitsu screenshots than that trailer I'd say. Geralt's hair is certainly better even in the E3 demo. Not to mention that shitty sharpening filter is gone and the game has more color now.
