Obvious Downgrade

I also think that the decision to delay the game even further was planned very carefully, and essentially is much more alarming than the possible downgrade.
Either the "downgrade stuff" is a coincidence, or is a smokescreen to divert attention of what's the real reason of the delay. Either way, I don't believe in any downgrade of PC version on the release - it really wouldn't benefit them at all, with CP2077 as the next project.
I also think that the next few months might be crucial. Not only to the success of the W3, but CDPR as a whole.

Let's hope for the best.

I think a fan would support CDPR. Pre ordering the game is a token of appreciation.

I don't believe in the downgrade thing. But i want to know some other aspects, like map size , in a trailer.

There's so much faith in cdproject here. But sadly there is also reality..

Faith from my part == preordering physical collectors.

Broken faith from cdp == making the phsyical collectors edition lacking content from the others (if i just wanted the game i would have bought it from gog, i wanted the physical junks thats why i bought the collectors, there is no way the intent is not broken with this).
Broken faith from cdp == releasing a trailer that must have been optimized to run on the worst of the 3 supported plaforms and no statement that its only for that platform.

This has nothing to do with faith, this is real deposits and real actions from cdp. I hope the release still turns out ethical. They need to tell us there is going to be a high res upgrade pack for the pc/ps4 if they have to tangibly break their design for microsofts benefit. And shame on microsoft for offering millions to the one last decent developer left. The only hope i have left is not to be disappointed next year. I cant help bring up witcher 3 whenever my friends mention gog now...

The trailer looks fine to me. Those flat textures on the Wild Hunt general suggests he is all frosty from the cold. I can imagine CDPR are all laughing at this thread as it becomes a pretty phenomenal publicity tool. They do say any publicity is good publicity and here everyone is talking about the upcoming game. And now the game's pushed back 'til May it appears all will be addressed. Superb marketing. Maybe I'm being a little too cynical?

I find it very hard to believe that independent developer as is CDPR would succumb to MS and Sony pressure (if there was any) to downgrade the game . I don't think this was a case of downgrade at all. Just a rushed trailer, with few bad textures (ice) and few bad effects (flames and explosion), besides that I didn't notice anything else.
Besides, most of the trailer the weather is cloudy without much sunlight, not so many lighting effects and that also makes it look worse then Sword of Destiny trailer.

Makes me want to play The Witcher 2 again. It certainly won't be, because of technical advancements in software and hardware between the games, but if The Witcher 3 is just the same graphically as the second I'll be satisfied.

I don't see this video as evidence of an obvious downgrade. It's evidence of an obvious reduction in fidelity compared to other videos, sure. They could just be having problems with assets on an unstable build, paired with what was explained regarding the short notice.

The YouTube compression doesn't really account for the poor texture/sfx, but to claim it'll be of that calibre come release is almost unfathomable.

if in may this downgrade happens to be true i quit gaming. forever, i mean it. i cannot bare this anymore,those companies are killing all my childhood memories, all i ever liked about games since i was 6 years old. first the DLC,than the lock on discDLC and now this downgrade and nerfing for PC to not make look those uper shitty consoles bad...i cannot live with this anymore, this is a cancer..all for the money...please let me be wrong...i wan't to be damn wrong...i wan't to be mistaken. my god this is unberable....i don't know what to say....i think this is one of the most hurtfoul and depressing days of my entire life. and i've witnessed my fathers death when i was 8. i'm dead serious. you cann't do this CDPR you cannot sell out like this.....damn this can't be real...this just can't be real

Dude, calm down. Have you actually seen the uncompressed version? That gif/webm is really shitty quality. The trailer was rushed out and is probably made of older footage. They didn't have it planned but rushed it out for the VGA's. Go download the 3GB uncompressed version and watch it with good codecs and what not.

Not to mention some of these differences are character redesigns and some of these scenes are not even similar to compare

you are someway right but also wrong. there are two kind of faith, the blind faith and the faith that's based on something. even the blind faith is based on something. Of course that the main characteristic of faith is to believe and that is something away from facts, but isn't always a fanatic kind of faith what lies in the world and people. The blind faith tends to be on fanatics, the fundamented faith tends to be on they who give an opportunity in gratitude of something they received or seen realized

I've always had faith on them, but since this last few months....... i think the problem is real because the delay is real, i don't see downgrades but i do see too much silence and questions. some contradictions and non confirmed info lead to this, silence made it worse.

Alright man. I think you need to calm down, go take a break for a few minutes. This trailer has had just as many scenes with varying quality as SOD. The only big one is the Wild Hunt Eredin bit where he gets off the horse. It looks like the frost effect is bugged because in this shot his armor is good, but when he gets off the horse it's fucked up.
