You know what... Maybe it's time to close this thread. There pretty much isn't anything more we can say about the subject no? until the game comes out or CDPR says something. Were pretty much talking in an echo chamber of speculation and were not really getting anywhere with this discussion.

My 2 cents.

Actually the post you deleted about The Division(Ubisoft) can't be tagged as a console war started, it was just a possible way videogame business works nowadays... Fake or not it made a point how content is (allegedly) handled.

I find ok to delete a troll comment or a flamebait as you said... but deleting a possible source of information it's quite a different thing...

You know I wish CDPR had done the same thing for Witcher 3 as they did with the Witcher 2. Witcher 2 came on PC first, and then it was ported to Xbox 360 when it was ready.
They should have just finished and released the PC version of the Witcher 3 first, and then they could have worked on the console versions and released them when they were ready.
This way there would be no talk of downgrade for the sake of consoles, and sacrificing the power of PC for the consoles and so on. Plus they did not have delay anything, because of less workload compared to producing for 3 platforms at the same time.

What makes anyone believe that even if there WAS a downgrade, that it would be about consoles. Sorry but I have never heard a company that is delaying their game because they 'forgot' that they needed to work the game out on other platforms too. That's just ridiculous. They said from the start it would be for 3 platforms and they have focussed on making sure it does. I am also pretty sure they would have delivered just fine on Februari, though to polish it even better and make sure they got everything right, they delayed it.

No. It's merely another attempt to portray the console market as running down the quality of PC games. There is no evidence behind it and it is no different from any other FUD. Any attempt to portray CDPR as having acquiesced in a purported scheme to downgrade their game in order to serve the console market is an attempt to start a platform war, and it may be removed without notice.

It was a little biased, it's true, but I found it interesting to read as a "maybe it's happening somewhere else"... Nevermind... ;)

They don't FORGET to work on the console version of their games, they run into unexpected problems in the process and they need spend resources and time to fix it.
One of the CDPR developers said that when they tried to port the Witcher 2 to consoles, all they got was black screens for weeks. So they had tweak many things to get it to run on the console.
Each platform works differently, and the team needs to fix the issues the game has on each platform instead of focusing on one platform at a time.

It has been said several times that you should not argue about a moderator's course of action on the forums, and if you have any problems you should do it the right way through the right channels.
The mods have the authority, and we all have to respect their decisions.
Plus this thread is specifically about the Witcher 3 and CDPR, and bringing up other games and other companies is just irrelevant.

Well, of course consoles have done so on a technical level. Console hardware using modern chips has always been overtaken by the pc space before its released. But there's another side of this truth as well... because consoles bring a mainstream audience to the video game genre, the profits and in turn the amount that can be spent on creating them is much larger. While nasties like yearly franchise releases have also come about from this, overall it falls as a benefit i'd say. I remember when the pc master race was on its own.. we got maybe 5 AAA releases every 2 years (this meant we could reasonably play every single epic game that came out.. ahh the days).. Now every release is AAA and we get a few every month on average.

So how does CDPR fit into all this? Perhaps its just the old guard talking. I personally like the old way of doing things, but if things change they change. If anything we have tonnes of choice, from a game players persective its not that bad. Just switch to playing games on the steam sale schedule, you're not going to be short of anything to do trust me..

EDIT: Pushing the limits has also been done before... anyone remember crysis? pc master race pop culture aside, i think it took about 4-5 years of graphics cards before the midrange spec could run that easily. It was hilarious. Apparently that was a launch flop because of this.. I'm guessing they made it back over the years if only from people buying copies when they upgraded their cards... but as a strategy, pushing the limits to the point where it wont scale down probably isn't the best approach even if you're only considering the platform master race.

Who doesn't remember Crysis and in particular Crysis 2?
The prime example for throwing major aspects that made the PC-only predecessor unique out of the window just so that the consoles and their inferior hardware could run it. If that isn't sacrificing artistic vision and deliberately cutting back on gameplay features and technical prowess for purely financial reasons then I don't know what is.

Not implying that CDPRED did something similar with TW3 but they definitely need to get their shit together after showing off those nasty bits in the latest trailer and even more so after delaying the release for the second time. NO more room for excuses now. They have to knock it out of the park, especially on PC and without any glaring compromises.

Dawg... are you fucking serious? You can't possibly believe his face looks better in TW2 than in the Elder Blood trailer. In fact, I'd say his face is one of the few things that still look really good in that trailer. Still looks just as good as in the other shots, just different lighting. Don't be ridiculous.

If he thinks that W2 Geralt looks better, well, I can't take anything in that post seriously.

and this is as far as i will go to answer you, but trust me. he has the demo.

So we need to take your word for it, no proof, just what you say?
If he has it, then post a screenshot to prove it.

In any case, it's normal for alphas to have issues.
There's nothing so far that can make me doubt CDPR, the delay even more makes me believe that they want to deliver on all accounts.

anyway, i saw the trailer uncompressed now and there is NO doubt. that was NOWERE near the previous trailers quality, many points showing it has been already discussed from gratl chainmail and face details, to effects and whatnot. if this was an old build releasing the trailer now in that condition makes no sanse and have only dammaged them. if the trailr IS the courrent condition of the game than the downgrade happend and this isn't questionable, you cannot fool me at this point, with the uncompressed version of ALL the released trailer under my eyeas i can see very well the difference. and yes IF this is happend the reson ARE consoles. at this point i don't even give a damn anymore. i will wait may, or august or next november i don't give a damn. i will see the game, since i have alredy purchased it and if it's not th quality they showed in th biginning but instead is this "thing" they showed now i will simply do what i already told you and stop gaming for good. either they release two VERY separate versions console and PC and they point out CLEARLY what are the limits of each and point out CLEARLY with each new video what build is running on what or if they just downgrade the PC version for the sake of parity at launch and they don't even release a free ultra texture pack/filters enabler/nvidia effects enable etc. for pc only ( like what happend with shadow of mordor) afterwards, this time i delete steam sell all my old games and forget what this shitty world has become for good. i will not spend a single cent more in this industry if this is what has come to,and this is final. no ban me delete this post or do whathever you want i dont give a damn anymore. for now no one but a selected few know the truth and i will refrain my final judgment till the game is officially out,.
BUT,if the truth is like i start to belive what the present informations are hinting at, you guys have failed as both devs, artists and human beings altoghter and i pity you. you may ban people and censore theyr voices but i will never escape the truth you know in your hearts. IF you have done something to be ashemed for, YOU know. theres no need of further external proof. if not, you have nothing to fear and the final product will show to all of us just how mutch faithless we were this all time, and to be quite frank i hope we will look like fools in the end having being wrong with our suspects for all this time, i really do,for the sake of both you and your entire fanbase, including me in the future. i just start to feel really strong inside me that that will not be the case.

Not trying to start a platform war, but does CDPR deny this scheme(downgrade to console)? We do not need evidence if CDPR will not even openly deny this to the public. I'm not saying that consoles are worse than PC because they run the same game , just different graphical fidelity. (then again look at Battlefield 4 across all of the platforms. PC version is far superior because it can run 64 player maps. This is a cold hard FACT)

There will be a difference between versions for the Witcher 3. It will be most visible in the view distance for each version. If the PC version has the same exact view distance as the consoles then you might have enough reason to say they downgraded it. That blue fog in the distance is very ugly. I want to be able to see the world of the Witcher 3 without seeing that blue fog.
