Offline activation for 1.4 pach - please point me in the right direction.

Hi.I have the original Witcher PC DVD. For obvious reasons I will not disclose my serial/install key on the back of the last page of my manual . To prove this the tenth word on page 68 under the heading 10-Mini-Games is "opportunity".My problem is that I have it installed and want to patch to version 1.4, but have no internet connection at home.I see that it can be done using a USB stick, but havent been able to find the specific post.I will do another search, but please could you point me in the right direction.Thanks.*change the header to more apropriate heading*

you can register the game on another computer and copy those registry keys ( see FAQ ) but the patching process requires an active internet connectionmy best advice would be to go to a friend or someoen that has an intenet conection, install the game there, and copy that game and registry keys, and get it back on your system

Good grief. Very dissapointing. Why do the publishers insist on punishing those of us who purchase the legal copies of the software?I will stay with patch 1.2, and forgo the "EE experience", as I do not see why I have to go through all that trouble for this patch. I enjoy my gaming, but it is meant to be a pleasurable past-time, not an exercise in rooting up my system and lugging it off somewhere to update it. Be reasonable man!At least have the courtesy to inform me on the box that I will REQUIRE IN INTERNET CONNECTION to patch and or upgrade the software that I purchased.I will keep my eyes open and hope for a 1.4 patch that does not require me to activate my purchase online via the internet. Will you not at least consider a new patch in say a month or two's time to allow suckers, like myself, who did the right thing and purchased the game, to experience the "EE" version?Dissapointed.

Yeah I completely agree with Conlan! If the developers are going to use such a rediculously annoying process of updating thegame that leaves even legal owners of the game with no way to update it then theycould at least write that on the box so people can be prepared to play a game whichis so difficult to update.I don't know what Licaon_Kter means with his post about>oh, and your words would mean more if you would register the game Dude - he IS trying to register the game, that's the whole point of this post. - Why can't thedevelopers have a procedure on their website to put in your serial and by given an activation code that would then allow us to install the v1.4 patch?..

As far as I can see the only thing that I (and Conlan) are able to do atpresent is register a username and password which allows us to use these forums. Which, as you say, isa completely different matter to actually being able to register the game through the launcher in order topatch it to v1.4.Frankly we aren't interested in being able to register with this forum. We JUST want to get the game REGISTER.EXEto connect to your site so that we can get on and install the patch! Is there really no way of just emailing youguys our game serials and you send us back some registry key that we can put in to convince EE to install itself??

you need an account here anyway, as the patcher asks you for your username/password to authenticate youthere is no offline activation
