Plot/Setting said:For over two decades, the Megacorporations have ruled the world from their starscraper towers, enforcing that control with armies of cyborg assassins. While the boostergangs roamed a shattered urban wilderness, the endless party went on 24-7 in the hottest clubs, sleaziest bars and meanest streets this side of the Postholocaust.
Plot/Setting said:But that was before the Crash; before the dark days of 203X. Now the battlefield belongs to the new Lords of the Street: the DNA-shape shifting Reefers vs the full-body cyborgs of Corpore Metal, Desnai's robo-enhanced mechajocks against the monster makers of Riptide, the nano-boosted road warriors of Rolling State against the cybertech megaweapons of the urban Edgerunners.
Clay. It's not a speculative plot. It's from 203X, the Cyberpunk 3rd Gen game that CDPR is not using.Claylex;n7126100 said:What I'm really curious about is the "DNA shape-shifting reefers"
Are they mutants? Are they freaks of nature? I know its all a speculative plot but already I'm kinda worried.

Considering that in that CDPR's 2017-2021 plans pdf CP2077 goes first, more likely it will be released before 2021.EmperorZorn;n7118460 said:As long as it's released before 2077, I don't mind waiting for a great Cyberpunk game~

although it had a skeleton crew working on it since 2012 maybe even before that. i doubt full production went into full gear before w3 came out. but ya if this game comes out ca 2019-ish it will be one of the longer dev cycles out there.Tarathelion;n7169330 said:
2019? Lame. 2020 is - a nice reference to CP2020, symbolic, a cool number, and a shitload of time to make the best RPG (skipping the preproduction phase as it's already done) ever and care for promotion and avoiding falling into the same pit VtM:B did while also being ze-best-rpg-ever. But sadly, money are finite resource. Not to mention that The Witcher 3 could come out faster, in 2014, when CDPR took the courtesy to tweak it more. Twice.Calistarius;n7176230 said:And following that logic, I would expect Cyberpunk 2077 to come out somewhere in/around of 2019.
Heh... I think I have at some point during the last 3 years also writen that it would be pretty cool if they waited till 2020 just for the sake of it... I mean they missed the 2013 CP reference...metalmaniac21;n7176490 said:2019? This sounds like pretty reasonable to me but it's missing couple factors.Calistarius;n7176230 said:Think I have said this befor here... but I would asume that CDPR will follow their standard timetable of main game releses (I do not take into account the expansions here).
That being:
Witcher 1 - 2007
Witcher 2 - 2011
Witcher 3 - 2015
And following that logic, I would expect Cyberpunk 2077 to come out somewhere in/around of 2019.
So... just 2-3 more years to go... where I asume that we will not really get much info on the game untill maybe 2018-2019... maybe, just maybe, a few minor things in 2017... but the big things will probably not show up untill mid 2018, or even as late as mid 2019. XD But... this is just a wild guess from my part... but I am probably somewhere in the ballpark of what it will end up being.
