I wish I could say I did, I've been a fan since the very first game and even liked the recent games before the reboot, but this did not even feel like a Tomb Raider game to me at all. What appeals to me from the classic games were the puzzles, precise platforming mechanics and the complex level design itself. You didn't like the game at all? I always enjoyed Tomb Raider and I liked the new one enough to be peeved that the sequel was a console only affair.
Tomb Raider 2013 takes all of that away with a Batman style detective mode for what few puzzle rooms there are, QTE's replace the platforming sequences, level design is now a linear point A to point B poor mans metroidvania affair. Focus has become more on combating waves of enemies than level progression. The well hidden secret rooms with vital weapon caches of the old games have been turned into Far Cry style collectibles scattered around the map with little rhyme or reason. I could rant all day on this topic tbh.
I'm not going to be that guy and say no one should like the remakes because I don't, and I do feel bad for the people that will miss out on Rise of the Tomb Raider because of the exclusivity deal. But I have no desire to continue to play what the series has turned into.
