I admire and respect your dedication to the Witcher series !

...but... but.... I can't help but feel horrible when I think about the Kayran fight ahead of you in TW2.

I must say I am confused at the first part of your reply, if I forgot to thank anybody then let me now say thank you. I truly have fallen in love with the game, I have the first two books though I will say I wish they were available in larger print. I am in the middle of the story which is the second one in the first book about the being in the woods, I kinda identify with him so far. My friend that changed my video card and changed over my Witcher files was amazed that I had I think he said 5 meg. of saves from The Witcher, so I guess I could be Sir-Savesalot too. lol I also have the first 3 comics and will have the rest in about 9 days or so when I give my friend the money to pick them up at the comic book store. Enjoying those so far as well.Anybody know how to put the sword away?

What @wichat meant* was that you should stop thanking anybody and instead have our gratitude for showing us how no hardship can stop you from dedicating yourself to something and enjoying yourself. And you... did the exact opposite and said thank you again. :p

*At least, I think that's what it is supposed to say.

I grew up in a generation that manners were at the forefront (I'm 44), It is a habit to say thank you, you're welcome. no sir, yes sir, no ma'am, yes ma'am and excuse me when I belch or break wind. Sorry but it is not going to be an easy habit to break. Figured out how to put the sword away :)

I'm 52 and I grew up under similar education ... but recently I defected, I untied the corset and jumped headlong into a personalized karpe diem. The only true value of life is to see how a smile is drawn on the face of who is around you. ;)

I think "rebelling", ie expressing yourself freely without fear of social conventions, is sweeter when people notice. Make a social statement out of it. Unless by caught you mean the police.

Have fun playing @sir-diealot! Geralt is a rebel with the power to back his actions.

13 years ago I was in a car accident, I have massive pain because of it and can only play when my body allows me to play.

I am taking a medicine that is 100X stronger than Morphine as well as Oxycodone and many times that does not even control the pain enough to allow me to play. Glad I pushed through some pain when I did, it's a great game.

I am better than I was when it first happened thank God, those were some really dark days for me, took a few years to finally come up with the right combination of meds that did not either give me bad heartburn or make me a complete zombie. Much much better than then.

Edit: I was hit from behind in the last accident and in the first I was a passenger so I could not have been careful other than the fact that I had my seatbelt on both times.

@EmperorZorn The Kayran fight wound up not being so bad once I realized I was supposed to run up the side of the collapsed bridge.

So I started The Witcher 2 the day I posted this thread which was 18-07-2014 I am very very surprised to be able to report that I just finished The Witcher 2 I honestly thought I would be playing right up until the release of The Witcher 3 I do have a question though, I thought there were 50 levels that Geralt could advance to and I finished the game at around 36-38 I do believe. Is that normal? I have to say I did like the ending of the first one much more than the end of the second, the second felt anticlimactic. I can't wait for 3 to come out though! :)

You were a wee bit too optimistic in regard to a playthrough length me thinks. I think max level is 35 in TW2. I think they said what the max level is in TW3 but I can't remember what the actual number (50?).

Keep in mind that to experience TW2 fully it's generally advised to play through it at least twice. The Roche/Iorveth choice at the end of chapter one will determine what side of the story you will see. Only by playing it at least once on each side will you experience the whole deal.

I had looked it up online and saw something that said there was 50 levels for 2 so that is why I was pushing so hard so I could be done around the time 3 comes out. I was guessing at the number, could not remember but knew I was thirty something. Does it keep letting you get points to use to level up Geralts powers after 35? Perhaps that may be what confused me? Not sure.

I absolutely intend to play this series again but I want to see how my story goes in 3 after importing my decisions from one and two first and then I will go back and play them al over again, I have been avoiding everything about 3 that I can, I want it to be an absolute and complete surprise. I have been reading the first book in the series that is in English The Last wish and Yenifer* is mentioned in there once so far so I am guessing that there will be things from the books that work their way into the game. Also read the comic books as well. Thinking of buying the first movie even though I have been told it is dren just so I can see it.

The reason why I advised you to play through TW2 twice is because you don't get the whole story if don't do it. It's not like you get 2 completely different stories, its more like you seeing the 2 sides of the same coin. You'll get a better understanding on the motivations of the characters and who they are.

And yes, do yourself a massive favor and read the books, you'll enjoy the games so much more! The title "The last wish" is... well, you'll see, just read it ;)

You don't have to replay the whole series yet. It's just that TW2 has mutually exclusive paths and two of them are drastically different. Basically you get two completely different chapters depending on whether you support Roche or Iorveth. And each side shows different aspects of the same overarching story. You also get to know different characters in depth. For instance in Vergen you interact with Philippa and Saskia, while in the Kaedweni camp you deal with Sile and Henselt.

So you should play TW2 at least twice, once for each major side.
