Online CP2020 Resources

So for anyone wondering, "WHAT IS THIS CYBERPUNK 2020?" and why CDPR chose it to base CP2077 on, here are a variety of excellent online resources for your perusal.

The starter, of course:

The ACTUAL REAL home of the inventors of CP2020, R. Talsorian. (The name comes from their early backer. Corporate influence!)

http://rtalsoriangames.wordpress.com/

Still brilliant and the source of my favourite game, which you can purchase at http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/50354/Cyberpunk-2020-The-Second-Edition-Version-201

Wikipedia:

Deric Bernier's superb online site, (Deric is on the 2077 forums. No, I'm not him. Wise up.) Also contains Interlock Unlimited, which anyone interested in the PnP should d/l and look over. Cleans up a lot of CP2020 oversights.

I won't pump him anymore, other than to say Deric has his flaws, (some weird Nomad fetish, specifically), but the site is well worth your time. Check out the crazy map of Night City, where you will spend a LOT of your time, come 2015!

--------

Views from the Edge, one of the last hard-running CP2020 forums still around. Go here and say hi. Heh. They don't bite. Much.

http://vfte.cyberpunk.co.uk/index.php

-------

The BlackHammer Project: also superb and source of many, many chunks of ideas, gear and rules.

http://www.ambient.ca/cpunk/

It's long out of updates and the new address isn't, but TBP has crazy amounts of stuff on it. You could spend days reading it. I probably have. Note the http://www.ambient.ca/cpunk/jackattack.html Jack magazine.

-------

From Clu5ter and Kohme:

Cyberpunk 2021: http://cyberpunk.asia/index.php?lng=us

Very nice page, again lots of data, images of hardware, smooth navigation. Well worth a look.

Mockery's Cyberpunk page: http://www.verminary.com/cyberpunk/index.html

Kohme says: "Interesting conversions from other games of the genre/similar genres, good house rules and nicely written fluff. "

-------

Cybersmiley's page: http://cybersmily.net/ House rules, some interesting new Corps. Nicely organized, too. NOW UPDATED.

-------

UPDATE: It bears mentioning that CP2077 is based on CP2020, NOT Cyberpunk V3. CP V3 is somewhat controversial, being a transhumanist update to Mike Pondsmith's setting. What CDPR will do with it if anything remains to be seen. Everything so far indicates that CP2077 is an update from CP2020 Fourth Corporate War.

See: http://www.gametrailers.com/side-mission/44806/cyberpunk-2077-exclusive-interview for an answer to the setting timeline.

Don't forget the social networks. Some of us still try to support the game however we can on those. When the communties option popped up on Google + I sat up one for Cyberpunk 2020 and it shot to over a hundred members rather quickly. There has been quite a bit of open discussion there also, although lately it's been about CP 2077 which is understandable.

Thank you for the info, I mostly stuck to first person shooters but clan mates were excited about this game and I see why. But on the forums I was lost.

No problem. If you want a real eyeball-grabber, just do a google search for Cyberpunk 2020...only click the Images button. Feast!

Well, here is a list of all the active Cyberpunk 2020 links to be found (actually I am sitting on a more updated version, but the host is having issues and I can't update the site)

http://datafortress2020.oliwy.net/links.html

At the bottom of the page, is a link to a list of links for every Cyberpunk 2013/2020/Cybergen site that has ever existed. It really breaks my heart to see how many are gone.

There's that distinct possibility that this game could pull some of those dead sites back from their graves which would be great

Well a lot of sites have been lost due to the changes of the internet. When yahoo finally killed off geocities a huge swathe of gaming related sites were deleted. A few other free hosting sites have done the same direction. Not to mention people losing interest on running paid domains and letting them expire and things like that.

Hey, Neuropolitan is still around as an archived copy here: http://neuro.portalseeker.com/

It's a variant Cyberpunk world with a different setting and somewhat different rules mostly based off of Fuzion.

It's on my list... it has a 9 rating... I love Neuropolitan...

The end of geocities was the impetus for the DF 2020 Archive...damn I wish the hosts weren't such fucks...

That's one reason my site went away. Though as Edger was saying about sites coming back, II will probably put back online after a review of all my spelling and grammar. Never did put skill points into composition...

Nah. Made myself. Did pencil sketch of a Borg face, scanned it, then had fun with Photoshop. Back before RL started taking up a lot of my time ;)
The fort was one reason I went back to school and start my IT career. Loved working with html.
