Open World - Open Quest; Charlie's Angels Hair

I have a couple of quick questions I hoping someone can answer. I thought I heard in one of those "Everything we know about the Witcher" that unlike other open world games, once you complete the main story (and I assume there is a point-of-no-return that we may or may not be warned about) that's it; you can't go back on do side missions, hunt monsters, etc. It's also a little dissapointing that the world is carved up into open world regions rather than being fully open world; perhaps as a result of the really large distances between some of the regions? I hope you can go back and forth and that they aren't walled off once you "finish" the story quest there.

Second, has anyone else noticed the weird hair dropping effect that sometimes comes up in the cutscenes when a character appears on screen? It's only there for the first frame or so, but it makes me think of Charlie's Angels tossing their hair. I find it kind of funny, but distracting.

The hair thing will probably be ironed out until release :) As far as the different areas go, I've read that there are 4 main areas (might be 3 as well, I don't know if they counted the prologue area or not), and they are really huge. The devs said that those areas are separated because first, they wanted the areas to have their distinct feel; and second, for example to sail from Skellige to Novigrad would have taken hours of game time normally, so they had to separate those areas and create a fast travel kind of system between them.

This is as far as I know obviously :) It would be good if other people can add in on this and maybe post some sources as well (I'm too lazy to do that sadly :D )

Thanks.

I just watched the twitch dev presentation, and at the very end they actually talked about whether you could continue the game at the end. One guy said no, but then there was something afterward where they were saying you would have the option. It was rather confusing. Perhaps they haven't made it clear, but it would be nice if they did.
