My understanding is that CDPR received 7 million from EU/Poland gov to develop next-gen AI in games, specifically CyberPunk 2077...
It also seems the NPC driving AI in CyberPunk is severely lacking to the point of nonexistence, indeed NPC cars are basically on a static linear 'rails' system... which in terms of "AI" is behind even that of GTAIII from decades ago...
But Elon Musk (CEO of Telsa) has a nonprofit called OpenAI foundation that released the trained neural network and open sourced the code for TRUE AI driving in videogames (here as showcased in GTAV) almost half a decade ago....
So whats CDPR's excuse after getting 7 million dollars to work on AI, it couldn't even implement a basic driving car AI that had been in GTA games for three decades much less improve upon it with work that had already been open sourced half a decade ago?!
