hi, my first post here ^^I'm a big RPG fan and playing games on every platform. So i downloaded the demo to check this game out and i was amazed by it so much i instantly ordered the collectors edition after a few hours. I finished it a few days ago, playing it again at the moment and i have to say its been a long time since a game fascinated and touched me like this one. The graphics are one of the most beautiful i've ever seen (the atmosphere and everything makes the fantasy world "realistic and believeable") , the music is just magnificent (again the atmosphere is fitting every situation. I often listen to the soundtrack and even if not i'm hearing tracks like "River of Life" in my head), the story is very good developed and has sometimes good surprises and every decision you make has a great influence in the rest of the game. The characters (new and old one) and their backrounds are also pretty good, even if some named characters (like Carmen) don't have a "unique" model. The combat is a very refreshing and new type which i like alot and you can even evolve the combo and sign effects, a solid leveling system. And the alchemy is great implemented. I also like the boss battles, really cool designed. The localisation here (i'm german, sorry if my english is bad :dead: plus i'm tired and need to sleep) is very good and i like the voices of the most characters.I didn't know "the witcher" until the game came out but i like the world and story alot and i think i'm going to buy the books to learn more about it ^^All in all, this game is one of the best RPGs i've played so far. My only problem is that Geralt always automatically puts the sword on his back just before the next battle is about to start XDAnd maybe the ending. I want to know what happened with Geralt and his/my/whatever beloved Triss ;) (sorry for all Shani-Fans, i'm with Triss ^^). But maybe thats part of a expasion/addon or even a sequel. That brings me to my next point: PLEASE make more out of this great and unique product (addons, sequels, moremoremore) and i'm very glad to see that there will be an editor and a enhanced edition with great content and more future support. Wish more devteams would have such a great support and care more about their fan community! And i have to say THANK YOU for this great game and the future of it. I hope you will be even more successful than now! That is definately the path to go! I love you! XDZhane BX

Thanks uk_john! ;DThats also a point, the community here is great! :)I fogrot something about the music. I really hope you can keep the composers for future projects (at least for the witcher)! As i finished the game i was like "damn it's allready over" and then the credit track really charmed me a last time.Well if its "over" or not after the credits, i'm still enjoying and loving it in my 2nd play! :D

I'm looking forward to the extra adventures in the Enhanced version. It will also give me an excuse to play through again on Hard difficulty, and with different decisions (although I will pick Triss again!). It will be hard to go against Seigfried though, as I did like him.Another fan of the music here: I picked up the Collector's Edition for that alone, though I certainly liked all the extras that came with it.I really enjoyed the FMV introduction and epilogue - they definitely sit up there with the DoW intro as my most favourite. It's hard to believe this is CPR's first project - they have certainly set the bar of expectations very high for any of their future releases!

I have to say that The Witcher is an awesome game. I have it on my laptop and have shown others the game and everyone has been impressed! I think I even sold a copy for you. ;DI feel that this game is a well crafted piece of artwork. Looking forward already to more games from CD Projekt and I haven't even finished this one yet.

The best game I have ever played - by far.I've finished it twice and now I'm having trouble finding any other game worth playing. :wall: They all just seem so ... inferior to The Witcher - somehow shallow and linear. (if anybody knows any exceptions, please let me know)The depth of story, the morally gray world and the many player decisions that actually affect the game world and playing style are my favourite features in The Witcher and I really hope they will catch on in PC gaming in general. Otherwise we will only have one really good game every 2 years or so :( .Thank you, CD Projekt. And please keep them coming!

For a time filler, but not as good as the Witcher, and I know people with disagree with me, but on PC, as there are so few RPG's anyway, I would recommend Two Worlds. Patched up it plays well, it looks well and it has a large world with interesting characters in it. In the fall, a stand alone expansion will be coming out to up the graphics and voicework, add quests and monsters and generally make it even better. At the moment this will be a free download for owners of Two Worlds, so that's another potential bonus. If you are okay with Baldur's Gate style RPG's and not fussed by 15 year old graphics, I can also highly recommend 'Darklands' an RPG based on 15th century Germany based on the premise that everything they believed in the 15th century would be real in the game, so because witches coverns were believed to exist, they are in the game. You start as a party looking for fame and you travel Germany solving quest and fighting monsters. It doesn't have spell making, but relies on alchemy and the battles are in 3/4 view and real-time pausable. (ie you can pause and give commands then un-pause and watch the action! The tactical battle system was written by Sid Meier, if that gives you any idea of quality! Darklands is abandonware now and is easy to find and give a try. It works well in DOSBox. You may find it on ebay, but another way to tell you how good this game is, you may have to bid over $30 to win it! And that's not bad for a 15 year old game!

Am I the only one thinking it's highly questionable to let a 6 year old child play mature/18+ rated games?

Yeah, even if I'm a gamer, I find it questionable too... in fact I think that being such a "hardcore" gamer at 6 years old is kind of scary ??? It's like having a cell phone at 7 years old...

Hello All. So far I am thrilled to play a good RPG took a look around the forum before I purchased the game so far I like it alot. if any of you have played Vampire the Masquerade redemption this game has some of the same feel to it as that game the Online story mode was cool because you have complete control to make your own stories and control NPC's as a story teller and even map editing. when I bought this game was hoping that there would be a online attribute. doesnt have to have much just levels with options to build your own stories. maybe you should check it out. and patch it, it would make this game the best game so far. it is a really good game allready just would make it that much better :) thanks all.
