Opinions on the music?

Yea, me too. I'm really digging the ambient music Battleground Arasaka and to a lesser extent Corposeduction.

i also want to add that the Deus ex games had some of my favorite Cyberpunk soundtracks especially the ambient ones in MD

I was just thinking to myself "What if they add AT LEAST The fields of Ard Skellig" this one is such a masterpiece, one of the best soundtracks I've EVER heard... it's beyond good :p
If this was made 300 years ago, it would be the de-facto Beethoven's 5th symphony. :))

What is the "mixtape" option? Haven't heard about it
I have heard it mentioned that the option was available to use your own downloaded music as an option when you are in a vehicle similar to what you could do in GTA and a couple of other games.

I think if I have one gripe with the soundtrack is WHERE is the PUNK! I mean, what, No Billy Idol? Look, I know they have previewed SOME rockers, but how about some stuff that would fit in just as good...Like Beasto Blanco. I have heard that you will have the option to add your own music and I hope that this will be the case as I will be adding A BUNCH of stuff that will fit perfectly.

I’m not sure if I just missed it or if it has not yet been shown but I am interested in the Death Metal tracks they supposedly included and whether they are existing ones or created specifically for the game (and if so by whom). Other than that I disliked most of what I heard since neither pop nor hiphop are really my groove but I suppose that can’t be helped. IRL I do not like all music either so why would I in Night City? One exception was the music we could hear in the scav hideout, not sure what that would classify as. Industrial techno maybe? Same for whatever played in the background during the Maelstrom segment.

The music in this game is really the biggest disappointment for me. I think they missed an opportunity to get synthwave artists in this (many of whom probably would have worked for far less than the mainstream artists they got). The music in this still sounds like modern pop music in its composition and arrangement, just using more synth instruments. It's not horrible I guess, but I hope there's a mod for custom radio stations soon.

It is, honestly, terrible.

IMO, Hip Hop/(C)rap shouldn't be within miles of this title. It has absolutely nothing to do with the genre of Cyberpunk. There should be a LOT more synth and true punkish music playing. It's almost like they bought the rights to the CB IP, and didn't bother to actually research it's musical origins.

Personally I feel like the music in this game is absolutely fantastic. Obviously more would have been better, and I'm sure they'd have loved to have every awesome artist but there's limits.

The only thing I think that I would change would be allowing players to add their own into the game's music rotations. Like have a few different categories of music "Background/Ambient, Radio Stations, Battle" and the game will just random drop in the player's songs from time to time. Either that or integrate with something like Youtube Music/Spotify or some online radio service and people can just have fun with it and connect to playlists, radio stations etc.

the opening scene in the car with the gritty rap is the worst.. why oh why can't I change the station in that scene? and it's mixed so LOUD, it drowned out the dialog. awful.

most of the "music" in this game is an assault on my senses. it's just a bunch of repetitive annoying noises... best station is "OFF"

I will say, most of the music in the game is totally not what I would listen to in everyday life, but I enjoy it for being the sort of thing I can believe being popular in the world these characters operate in.

What's there is pretty decent. Just wish you could listen to the radio outside your vehicle like you can in Fallout games. And i wish there was more of a hardstyle/electro channel.

The "mission" music often clashes with some of the various radios that are turned on during those said missions. I don't know if I am the only one experiencing this and finding it annoying. I am finding myself turning off in game radios. I guess I could just turn off the background music, but I definitely find myself listening to music from more than 1 source way too often in this game.

Music taste is absolutely subjective, so I can't complain too much but very few of the tracks I heard the radio I enjoyed.
The actual score is fantastic, but I found a lot of the radio channels annoying, irritating or lazy.

I mostly listened to PEBKAC, partially because there were no lyrics and mostly because the others were horrific and saccrine sweet.
The mission specific 'actual' music (as opposed to sound track music) I didn't like either.

I would have liked to hear more *wave tracks, from perturbator , filmmaker, daniel delux etc

I think yt previews beyond this point don't work, just click the links, lots of different artists...

Absolutely love the music.

Top shelf.

I mean, the gold standard will ALWAYS be "Far Cry: Blood Dragon" but that's impossible to beat.

Really enjoying the music in this game. I feel most of the time it lands near perfectly for the situation and that's surprisingly rare these days.
