Option or mod to remove Hoods on armor?

Simple question really, is there a no hood mod anywhere?

Thinking of the Kayran and Blue stripes jacket which have hoods, while the armors are good i dont like the hood look and was wondering if theres a mod that removes the hood?

Also is there any plans to patch in an option to show/remove hood ingame CDP?

I havent seen or heard of any. AFAIK this was already asked a few times and the answer was always no. There are mods that replace the whole armor texture with a different, hoodless armor though.

Not yet. It's one of the more requested mods, but without the SDK, I doubt it will be done; once we have the SDK, though, I'm sure we'll see it on the Nexus almost instantly. ; )

Why would anyone want to remove the hoods? They make Geralt look super badass.

Yes, I'd much rather see his sexy mane than some silly hood.

I prefer no hoods. I paid a lot of money for that new hairstyle, the least thing I wanna do is cover it up.

You mean 40 orens ? :p But yes, I prefer hoodless too. Or a toggle. That would be the best option.

Indeed. I used to use one that replaced the Kayran armor, but it broke the new hairstyles.

Garrett doesn't have the same sexy hair as Geralt has. ; )

I suspect that the modders are having problems removing hoods without the full SDK, but it is possible to swap-out the templates of the armour, so that you can get the stats from, say, Kayran with the appearance of something else.

I've done this for a few pieces of armour that I don't like the looks of. You just need to assign a different template to the armor in def_item_armor.xml

The version across at Nexus that broke the hair (Kayran to Astrogarus) was designed for game version 1.2. I haven't seen a mod out for 1.3, but it isn't hard to DIY. The mod at Nexus that changes the Blue-Stripes armour to look like Raven still works.

I'd rather see his hair and face :(

Shame about no mods though.

I'm hoping patch 2.0 will have a no hood option. I know it prolly wont, be still one can dream :)

This has always bothered me, why would I pay someone to "untie" my ponytail?!!
Changing your hair should be in the inventory screen, and toggling the hood too.

Could have been worse. Could have been a chargeable DLC that involved real money. I can think of at least one games vendor who wouldn't hesitate to charge for something like that.

Just wear a different jacket if you don't like hoods. Why are hoods supposed to look "badass" is something beyond my grasp, they limit your field of vision and hearing and simply get in the way when fighting. There are so many different jackets to chose in game I wouldn't make a fuss about hoodies. Or hairstyles, the coffieur dcl was just a cheeky joke by CDPR cause many of us were whining that we wanted Geralt's original hairstyle back. Anyways, once the 2.00 patch gets released we will have the opportunity to have Geralt wear a black cape, hopefully a bandana too :p

Yup. Nostalgia's a weird thing. On my first couple of playthroughs, the first thing I did after settling down in Flotsam was to get Geralt's hair back the way it SHOULD have been, i.e. the first game. After that, I decided I actually liked the new style.

I think with Dark Mode coming, that's really important to suggest the dev to make sure we can hide the hood.
Indeed, most armors I see from Dark Mode trailers have Hood, and for some reason I really don't want to change any single template in game because I don't like hoods.

As there will always be people to say Hood are great, or bad, an option is the way to go.

I wonder...

I'm having problems viewing a lot of the screenshots posted in the forum, but of those I have seen, very few include hoods. Which means that the players don't seem to be using them.
