A hobby I wish I had is horse riding. Not too late for that I guess, I may start to learn sometime soon.

You should really get into it :] It's nothing that a newbie can't get into.

I know that it's fairly easy to arrange lessons here- you just call up and make an appointment, mention your experience with riding, and show up at least half an hour before your appointed riding time in order to groom and saddle your horse.

Riding is a lot fun, really rewarding too.

I had/have a family member out in West Alabama, I think it was, who bred horses and all that and I was always made to ride them. Family members always said I was really scared of them and I had an accident. Probably busted the young family jewels. Too long to recall but I've never ridden them again since I was a small lad.

Speaking of accidents and hobbies!

I also used to be really into riding four-wheelers until I tried to go up a nearly impossible slope and the bastard came down on me and broke my ribs. Had that damned thing up for sale as soon as wasn't dying of simply breathing.

Funny you mention that. I literally just recovered from a shattered ankle from an ATV accident. The damn thing flipped over, and I'm lucky to be here. I was stupid and went without a helmet ONCE, and my head narrowly missed a tree. If I ever DO ride again, I'm not doing it without a helmet ever again, you can be sure of that.

I feel for you man, just be glad it was the ankle. Another funny thing is my father had the same thing happen to him as me not even two months later. There's not a pathetic sight like being two guys laying on couches grasping for air.

As for helmets, I never wore one. Never had anything almost happen to my head either, atv accident withstanding.

I follow entertainment news pretty rigorously - movies, tv, video games, etc. I play a lot of the latter as well. I'm an avid Lego fan and have a lifelong stake in that community as well. Also a Game of Thrones fanatic, those books are more precious to me than any scripture. I spend most of my time on the internet.

wow man keep it coming guys/gals. It so nice to get to know you guys more than just witcher this and witcher that(not that that is bad at all but you get what I mean right?)

I too had a devastating atv wreck. I started riding when I was 5 and half years of age. So I have have my share of bumps and broken bones. I switched from racing bikes to atvs in hill climbing events. My atv wasn't set up yet(streched) and I was practicing on hills goats have a hard time climbing and I got tired. atv hit 3 times on the way down. I broke my back. 3 verts for sure possibly a fourth, had damaged discs from herniated, bulged, and slipped. Got degenerative disc disease and lotsa of arthritis. I tore my rototar in my left shoulder and it was dislocated. broke 5 ribs harilined a couple more, punctured left rib, broken thumb and middle finger and dislocated 2 other fingers. Tore a meniscus in my left knee. I am still in pain from time to time. What sucked is I got addicted to the meds and one day they just no more. I was on high levels of stuff. The with drawls were so bad.....(you have to go through it to understand I would take all the injuries again over the with drawls any day) then i got hooked heroine as a result. i lost everything. That said I am back on top of my game again. I am sober and have been for 3 plus years now. Never looking back......

I would love to see any pics of your lego creations I find stuff like that fascinating even though I do not have the patience or artistic ability to do stiff like that. I like the show GOT. I have been told the books are so much better. I may just go ahead and buy them soon and read them.

In the old forums it was easy to upload stuff. Now it's a complete mess. I just get red text in Polish when I try this shit. It's supposed to be the international section of the forums, and I get Polish everywhere. Off topic, but I want the old forum back.

It took me a minute to figure it just make your pics are under 250k and they should post. I use Infranview to resize/sample. It is free and can be downloaded from cnet.

I really would like to see your talent on display my good man.

Yikes. Talking about broken ribs and accidents... My grandfather was trapped under a car once, as he tried to stop a car that was rolling down a road (not like he had many places to go either). He was a strong fucker, even then, but the weight was too much for him and he ended up underneath it. By sheer coincidence my father was around the house cutting the lawn, and saw it happen. Meanwhile my grandfather was turning blue - not the best sign. Finally my father managed to back up the car. It was one of those you could 'lift' a little, which is what eventually made him break free, as the car was literally resting on top of his chest. This was out in nowhereville, but after a long time an ambulance finally showed up and they took him away on a stretcher (those that protect the back, as they were worried for back injuries). He had broken 3-4 ribs (which hurt like hell when breathing), and got some third degree burns, but other than that managed to get over it fairly well. Goes to show how quickly one's life can end, and how coincidences can both end it, and save it.

Reading mostly, ever since I decided not to go into an academic career I was determined to still read academic (history) books. I should be writing papers as well, but I get lazy there. I also do some writing for fun, mostly fan stuff.

About riding: I took some horseback riding lessons for a while. It was great fun. I more enjoyed working with/ taking care of the horses than the actual riding. Guess that's my dairy farm upbringing, I've always loved animals.

I also do some balcony gardening.

I can sing a bit. I don't have the ability to use exotic voice techniques like Demut does; I can handle the regular range of a tenor and that's all. But it's enough that I can do the Pirate King from Pirates of Penzance, or songs from Spamalot, The Producers, or my favorite, Tom Lehrer's songbook.
