Overburdened... hardly have any items or gear

My character seems to be stuck on overburdened way over... but I hardly have any inventory or gear to even put me to the limit I am at. Wondering if others having same issues, since it is hard to get around fast when you are limited to walking. I have sold my inventory to see if it helps but it doesn't and I do not know where all the weight is coming from to burden me.

yeah, you might have "walk" toggled.
Try checking alchemical ingredients and crafting resources and sell some, they tend to pile up!

PS: there was also a mod to augment your carry capacity, not sure if it works with 1.03.

Saddlebags help. The basic ones give 50% more carry capacity, and there are apparently some which give 117% more, though I haven't really needed much more than the basic ones so far.

Still no luck. Pretty well destroyed and sold what I could for my gear and inventory aand still the burden is like over a hundred in capacity. 268/130 around that. CTRL did not work or the walk toggle. Oh well guess figure it out in due time

check your animals skins and pelts. When they stack up they get heavy anbd can take 10 weight or more.

The reason you are overburdened is because you attempted to use cheat engine. In the memory refereces the gold and the torches inventory share the same memory reference. IE if you change your Gold using cheat engine it changes the amount of torches to the amount you put in for gold.

3BEDBA64 is the memory reference for all three values, meaning that somewhere down the line memory lines were not optimized.

Thx will keep an eye on that later... It seemed to have happened after the patch from 1.02 to 1.03...
I just restarted from the beginning sigh. Guess sometimes for the best. Least I know what to do and past the learning curve, so will be quick to get to where I was before.

I know it's an old post, and I kind of feel like a necrophage digging it up, but I had a mini panic attack when the same problem appeared in my game. I was overburdened, carrying loot to sell, sold most of it so that the weight was much below max, but the "Overburdened" icon did not disappear and I was stuck in walking mode. I bought and sold stuff, but that didn't help. What did help was fast travel to a different location and entering (and then exiting, once all I could see was bodies) fight mode. Suddenly I can run again and the icon is gone. So I'm leaving this here in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

I've noticed that the game appears to be processing a slew of things in the background that do not always update "in real-time", shall we say. People getting stuck with weapons out/sheathed, effects from potions not lasting the correct amount of time, missing effects from mutagens, rain vanishing in weird spots...

I think all of this is related to how the game threads data. What made me first start considering it was the number of times I would try to quicksave and be told "You cannot save right now." Moments later, the Deity of Smooth Gameplay would look down upon me, and I would be able to save again. No real reason...so it leads me to believe things are happening behind the scenes in the game engine almost constantly. Hopefully 1.07 will iron things out.

Look not unto His eyes when He looketh upon you! For from that moment you will ever more game in blindness. And rage. Stuttering, low FPS rage.

Upon further investigation I've come to a different conclusion: it's not the fight mode. It's the looting. The game stupidly does not recalculate your overburdened weight after you sell excess stuff; not always, not reliably. So if you find yourself overburdened while below maximum weight, ADD TO THAT WEIGHT. Pick a mushroom, buy something, whatever - just make your inventory weigh at least an ounce more. BAM! Overburdened gone.
