Ownable Emergency Vehicles

+
Welcome, @Boys_in_Blu_2045

Any new members are able to create new threads under the Technical boards, if that's what the focus is. For other topics (general, lore, gameplay mechanics, suggestions, etc,) members can simply post in this thread about whatever topic they want to create, then flag any member of the moderation team like I've done with your nickname above. We can then move the post to a thread under the correct board.
It's not technical or a bugfix, I have an idea for a new mechanic.

I'll give you a short rundown, basically - police vehicle rewards for completing NCPD scanner hustles that unlock with the amount of missions you've completed as a registered NCPD subcontractor.
(similar to Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition, where you can unlock police cars for finishing Cop Jobs.)
And an AUTOFIXER-style website to get them, and potentially unique NCPD vehicles as rewards instead of just reusing the police vehicles we already have.

We have the code for the AUTOFIXER part, designing/modding the vehicles (if we go with the custom option) would probably be harder.

I know, I know,
1, plenty of cars in the game,
2, why would you wanna be a cop in Cyberpunk of all places,
3, you can steal the cop cars already.

To those, I answer:
1, we don't have any emergency vehicles you can buy for your garage, and flashing lights and sirens are cool,
2, it's not like you don't uphold the status quo for eddies even outside NCPD scanner hustles, this'll just help you with roleplaying as a badge,
3, you can't call them to you, they don't have autodrive or Crystaldome, and you often have to fight the badges if you botch the theft.
3.5, you can buy police-issue equipment (like the ICE-protected Ocuset, LED-lined police jacket, muddy NCPD vest, two ballistic vests and a police helmet) already, and nobody on the NCPD even uses the LED-lined police jacket or the muddy NCPD vest, plus you can get just about anything if you have the scratch and connections for it.

So klepped or auctioned NCPD vehicles being provided for sale, especially to mercs registered to do the badges' work, really shouldn't be outside the lore, y'know?

(Also, frankly, I think it's gonna be super funny if one of the 'unique' purchaseable NCPD vehicles is just a Maimai with a rollcage, a short 2-pod lightbar, and a police paintjob on it, like those Smartcars the NYPD has for parking enforcement. But those unique suggestions are for the thread.)

Alright, post moved!
Thank you!

So, I presume the easy way around would be just providing emergency vehicles from the existing pool of vehicles we have
(the Cortes Overlord, Hella Enforcer, Apollo Scout, Emperor Ironclad, Merrimac Dreadnought and Hellhound Man-o'-War).
And if this presumed idea (assuming it ever reaches production) goes that way, that'd be excellent too!

But if we go for a more 'unique' approach for NCPD Subcon vehicles, I've got ideas. I'll copy them in here. I already described the first one anyhow.

NCPD Makigai Maimai:
It's cheap, it's nimble, it's compact, and it's safer than the Apollo bikes the NCPD uses. Another advantage to it is that any gangoon you try to arrest will be laughing too hard to pull their iron on you. No wonder they're giving it out to NCPD subcontractors.
(Note: Comes with rollcage/additional armor and a two-pod short lightbar.)

NCPD Mahir Supron:
This van has proven its mettle as an ambulance in its home country of India. Engineered to handle tight spaces, the techies of the NCPD improved on it with a beefed-up engine and bullet-resistant lining. It's still, as one engineer put it, 'a tiffin box on wheels', but it's slightly safer now.
(Note: Alternatively, the Villefort Columbus police model that got left behind in the concept art stage. Seems more realistic.)

NCPD Mizutani Hozuki:
The NCPD invested in the Hozuki for two things - PR and practicality. With custom mods by Mizutani for law enforcement use including a suspect cage and bullbar, this cruiser is equipped to do two things - respond fast, and transport criminals smoothly.
(Note: Comes with the same holowrap as the Overlord and Ironclad.)

NCPD Villefort Deleon Coupe:

Villefort are the primary providers of fleet vehicles to cops and corps around the world, and for good reason. This police Deleon was designed for the NCPD's highway patrol division, but high repair costs meant it got passed on to subcons with bigger wallets.
(Note: this is intended to be a slicktop model with optional CrystalCoat for unmarked/undercover use.)

NCPD Yaiba Kusanagi "Major":
Commissioned by a MaxTac officer who wanted to be ready to respond at any time instead of being dependent on AV pilots or Night City traffic, this custom Kusanagi is a perfect fit for people who want to roll in fast and hard. Comes with mounted machine guns.
(Note: Comes in MaxTac blue, with MaxTac decals. Naturally.)
