pack0.dzip is corrupted, game now broken

I preloaded the Enhanced Edition last week and applied the upgrade patch last night. During the installation, the following error occured and the process was aborted:

An error occured while trying to copy a file: pack0.dzip. The source file is corrupted.

Now the game does not start anymore, an empty launcher with just the background image and the number "54.8512" in the upper left corner is displayed.

I'm not willing to reinstall everything since the DVD installation takes about 1 hour plus downloading and installing the whole 10 GB (?!?!) patch again. The game worked perfectly fine before the Enhanced Edition upgrade.

System: Windows 7 Pro x64, 16 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 460 OC, newest DirectX and GeForce drivers installed, all Windows updates applied.

As it was posted on the sticky at the general forums, replace the part 2 of the patch ( download it manually ) and try loading the patch again.

Also there is a sticky located at the top part of this forum that has the MD5 and SHA1 numbers if you want to verify the files to ensure that each part of the patch is full and will work .

Replace the broken files with fresh downloads from the location you have been given in this topic and then just start TW2EE_Patch.exe, it will work then. You don't need the launcher, so it's no problem it doesn't work right now.

How do I do this? The launcher is broken, as stated before.

Put the replacement file (you should have to replace only one file, TW2EE_Patch-2.bin) in the same place as the other files, so it overwrites the bad file you had before.

Then install the patch by running TW2EE_Patch.exe, which should be in the same place.

You can't use the Launcher again until the patch completes. Completing the patch will fix the Launcher. But the only way to complete the patch at this point is to run TW2EE_Patch.

Steps to solve the problem:
1. Download http://wpc.4d7d.edgecastcdn.net/004D7D/files/wwwpatch/TW2EE_Patch-2.bin
2. Move downloaded file to \Downloads
3. Run \Downloads\TW2EE_Patch.exe and follow instructions
