Patch 1.07 coming soon to all platforms!

+
yeah haha
so how are you experiencing the game now?

Its been pretty awesome so far. No bugs, no failed missions. Roach works fine. Didnt really see the FPS-drops everybody's talking about. No lag in the item-menu. I like the storage-chests. Now you can clearly see what books you've allready read. I looks and feels smooth.
Anways there are some strange things I can mention. For some reason they now added every crafting item to both armorers and blacksmiths. So when Im at a blacksmith I gotta scroll through all the gear and stuff. idk why I would need to see all of those when I allready could check them from the menu. But thats no big deal. And then there's the super-slow walk that people are talking about. Again nbd for me at all.

And I gotta hand it to CDPR.. Ive played this game all the way through 3 times now. And I have the platinum.. but somehow now on my 4th play-through I find a little quest I never did before. In fact ever time Ive started a new game Ive found new shit.

What do you mean.. that it came with the 1.07 patch? Cause I didnt get any other downloads since then.

Not With 1.07, but the new Finisher DLC was released yesterday Morning. PC both GOG and Steam, along with Xbox users already have it. So PS4 should have gotten it yesterday as well.

The Ciri DLC was supposed to be included with 1.07 on all platforms, if you're somehow missing that also. :/

Ive actually had the Ciri-outfit for 3 weeks. They uploaded it to psn-europe a long time ago by mistake lol.
Oh ok so I guess its the european thing. Im sure they'll drop the dlc today. Could allready be out cause I didnt check this morning.

so after what happend is worth patching to 1.07 on pc?
YMMV. I have had no issues with it. But I have also started a new game for it. Some have reported broken quests, mostly if the quest was already underway when the patch was installed.

I rolled back to 1.06 as fast as I could, as the game was a mess with 1.07 for me. Over 20 crashes in under 30 minutes.
Some people have no issues, while others like myself have instability and a drop in performance.

I finally got the patch (PS4 UK) and it installed quickly with no issues... on the whole things seem a lot better although I caught Roach doing some odd press-ups and in a downhill race he grabbed some serious air... like flying air LOL

1.07 broke "Skellige Most Wanted" and "Hey, You Wanna Look At My Stuff?" quests. Fix needed for those.

Can confirm the latter "Hey, You Wanna Look At My Stuff"; the vendor becomes unresponsive with no dialog option to progress the quest. Also, a minor bug with "Get Junior" is added, where if you choose to pursue the peaceful option at the casino, the objective to "Search the casino for information about Whoreson" automatically fails after talking with the captive spy. I believe this will then affect your access to the shortcut in Oxenfurt later.

Funnily enough, if you choose to or accidentally start a fight in the casino, you will fail the objective to play Gwent, but succeed in finding the information. Failed objective either way. This is new in 1.07; didn't happen in 1.06.

My sole problem so far is that it causes major stuttering for me, and to be honest, from all the quest problems that I'm seeing I don't think it's safe to continue my first play-through as I'm still in white orchard and will simply wait and see if they come up with any fixes with patch 1.08 before I resign myself to continue with patch 1.06...Assuming they do of course.

This kind of result is bewildering to me. The same thing happened with Inquisition. Every single new patch that came out, players came to the forums complaining of broken quests, CTDs (for PC), stuttering video and un-synced audio and a whole range of other issues...and I never experienced any of them. 1.07 for W3 is just fine by me (although initially there was a massive frame rate drop, I found it was because it had defaulted me to 4K resolution).

I will never understand how predominantly the same operating system and similar, though not identical hardware (lets face it, we all have either Intel or AMD processors and AMD or nVidia GPUs) can have such radically different reactions to patches and the problem not exist "between chair and keyboard".

I hope those who are having problems get them fixed, as I can't even imagine how annoying it must be.

This is why I have so much patience for game devs and what they have to go through just to make a game like this, it's not just that they have to make sure the game runs, but they also have to take in consideration the varying custom systems and their hardware/software configs, as well as re-deving the game for use on consoles, not to mention patching up any bugs that were unforeseen with custom systems.

My guess is that they can only dev/test for default systems, and end up patching for the custom set-ups.Though devving for consoles are much easier due to the extreme lack of customization in software/hardware set-ups, unlike with the PC..

You're exaggerating. There are a few problems with sidequests, but the patch is fantastic. Not worth to play with 1.06 or less.

Another bug found:
Sven in Fayrlund keeps repopping if you killed him in the related quest
, and even if killed bugs the game making the player stay in combat mode and having to reload the last savegame. This will also make the village of Fayrlund basically unaccessible.
