I don't know what people who claim that 1.07 was aimed at low to mid level hardware have been smoking. VRAM usage was increased by about 50%, which is probably the reason for having less pop-ins (NPCs still pop though) and higher LOD.

Was just able to see some failed quest about cave of dream is now properly back as 'finished' status.

Else it destroyed everything, i have overload/freezes making it totally unplayable.

If you guys know how to downgrade back to 1.06 please let me know cause I have so little time to play and I want to play this game this weekend.

Not too sure what you're using but on the GOG galaxy client you can rollback to 1.06 (only 1.06 I'm afraid to say) within the "configure" sub-menu for that game. To enable to do so, you must also disable auto-updating.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the patch, LOD seems better, alternative movement feels more responsive, pop in is reduced and the distant buildings look better, I lost a few FPS in some areas, but nothing drastic, storage and inventory changes are great.

Haven't tested yet. Does it remove the auto sheathe/draw?

okay this is from my personal experience: so far no crash whatsoever and im not sure about loading times because i havent played the game in a while so i might not even rememeber if it was worst or not but seems to be okay enough to me, seems more smooth to the eye, less laggy if its possible to put it that way but again im not sure of this, ive experienced a few npc glitch like npc popping out and going weird on the screen that was funny rofl, roach definitly not fixed, and of course the increase requirement for equipment that idk why they did that lol, im level 22 and after an scene with yen having smexy time geralt went naked and it was because i cant wear my enhanced gear which is lvl 23 apparently.
other than that theres still things to fix but they could do this with hotfix or new patch which i hope they do it calmly, this is a good patch though considering the addition to the storage and distribution items.

yay for most of the new features like the inventory thing and storage chest
still haven't noticed the new movement thing? is it when walking?

but I noticed that I have more stuttering in Novigrad when I used to have none
it's not a slide show at least

I say yay. I have not noticed any loss in performance but also no increase. There is some added tweaks in the graphics options, I tried hairworks on all at 2x aa on low and had about a 2fps drop, but it did not look anywhere near as good as on high so I'm turning off. The stash is well worth the patch and it fixed my Nameless quest bug.

It did reset all my settings so make sure you go back and check those.

Lucky 1.04 user here. I have no horse stuttering or novigrad stuttering. So they still haven't fixed it?

Every patch seems to drastically change the console performance, at least more than it does for us, so hopefully the work they're doing for the console builds is also not bleeding into our version. Lod yeap for consoles. Popin, yeap for consoles. Hmm.

Either way, after breaking my install a few times from patching i always copy the entire directory somewhere before patching. For the gog version at least if you don't like the patch just delete the entire folder and copy back your backup.

My impressions of patch 1.07 so far is that it's a solid patch and definitely worth getting.

NPC pop in has definitely been improved, although there are some NPCs that still pop in too close to Geralt. These are the same problem NPCs that have always had latent pop in since the game's release, so it's nothing new. But it makes me wonder what's so different about these particular NPCs that makes them "materialize" slower than the others?

Regardless, it's not a big issue as those NPCs are few and far between. One thing I also noticed is that they improved the water shaders. The water looks better now with more complex refraction and distortion. However, the water tessellation bug is still there..

Also the annoying mutagen bonus issue has been fixed, so no more unequipping and equipping them.

I'd never noticed before that I can loot sirens after I've killed them while diving in the water. Perhaps I could before and just didn't know it?

I've got a problem with the sailboat, however. I don't think it's a 1.07 problem, but when I'm in waist deep water, I cannot get into the boat. It always says "you cannot do that now." Well, the boat is surrounded by waist deep water, and I can't get into it?! I'm stuck on an Island off Skellige, and I may have to swim back to the mainland....And just for the heck of it, I tried Aard to push the boat into deeper water. No dice.

I still have annoying micro stuttering, but it seems to be improved. Especially when I stood and started running then, I had a huge stutter the moment I moved. As far as I can tell now in 90 percent of cases I can start walking now without this stutter. Thats is a huge relief for me, bit it's still not the way it should be. So, mixed impressions after all for now. Ironically the micro stutters usually appear when walking or running. Riding horses isn't a problem for me

Inventory options are really nice to have now. The alternate sensitivity for movement is another nice option. General bug fixes are always good to have. The game is becoming ever more stable and fixed up. I hope the team take some time to recharge.

I've got *more* pop in now than I did with the previous patch. Performance is better in general but I suspect at a cost of the increased lod switching. Would be nice to be able to have the settings unlocked via an .ini file (unless this exists) and to be able to crank the settings up.

The tweaking of the level requirements for equipment sucks balls. Then again I fucking hate the level requirements and gating in the game anyway. Witcher's 1 and 2 didn't need it. Witcher 3 sure as shit doesn't either.

Unless I'm being dim here and there are now options to adjust then these two things also.

Auto-sheathe. Please... PLEASE an option to disable it or talk us through why it wouldn't be possible.
Those recap animations on loading. PLEASE an option to disable them that doesn't require modding, chances are there are going to be people playing on consoles also that would like to disable them.

Aside from the above listed I'm just hoping for some tweaks to structures that don't have but need entrances/exits even if the player can't use them for internal consistency, trees and static meshes that are either floating or showing void worldspace.

Hope the dev team recharge and rest for a bit before squashing whatever remains to be fixed. Thank you for your continued efforts!

Okay, so i've tried it. Conclusion is only if you need for a gameplay issue (bugged quest etc).

It feels like an okay patch. Some observations:

- You're going to want to force on high quality ambient occlusion in the nvidia control panel, i swear they've nerfed it just slightly. Downgrade continues.
- Yeah there does seem to be.. i dunno.. well the fps is different. It does get higher as far as they overlay is concerned compared to 1.04, but the trade off has been the minimum fps has been gutted or capped or something. Its just not smooth anymore... With the fps counter higher. Its like the body of your fps just isn't there anymore. Given none of us are hitting 60fps (well.. at the top end anyway) this is noticable particularly in areas where the fps drops, say when you're going over a hill into a valley eg. Its horrible.

Yeah.. id recommend only if you need it. If someone had a gun to your head forcing you to update it wouldn't be the end of the world :p

EDIT: ....................... Hello no. NO NAY. If you're running 1.04 how dramatically smoother it is.. frick that's the last time i'm going to spend a few hours trying to tweak out another of these lets fuck things for console fps into the pc version again. The next time i touch another update is when theres no way i can continue. For three patches in a row now the game performance is WORSE.

1.04 is still insanely better if you can get a hold of it.

After playing through the game for 4hrs with 1.07 patch, overall experience is awesome so far!
Alternate movement is very good, got the Zoltan card...yeah!
All round great improvement to the amazing game. No performance issues noticed so far, in fact there is slight improvement overall.

Few niggling issues, that popped up now are -
1. removal of item comparison option with vendors
2. Armor level increase :(

Fool's gold quest bug (Not able to talk to pig) is still not fixed. Not sure why?

Anyways, Thanks CDPR for giving us this awesome patch and game!

Since this is a thread for our own opinion, I would say YAY! CDPR did a great job on this 1.07 patch.
I am running on PS4 console.

PROS:

- Quest failed bug fixed
- Apiarian Phantom Quest fixed - which allowed me to get my Platinum trophy at last!
- Movements are more defined and more fluid
- Frames are not dropping (for me)
- Stash are fully functional
- Loading times faster (I guess)

CONS:

- Roach has a new move, he raises his front legs whenever you ride him and stand still.

That's my overview of the patch 1.07, I love it CDPR. The Witcher 3 is the best game ever!
