Patch 1.1

but in your opinion a game like this will never be fluid on old consoles .... CD will make it playable, improving many aspects but in my opinion it will never be 100% fluid, but you can still enjoy a great game

I have now for sure confirmed another workaround for the Takemura call glitch and this one won't make you go all the way back to before you talk to Wakako (because if you are like me you didn't wait the 24 hours and you did a crap load of side gigs and didn't want to lose the progress). Now if you happen to have an auto save or manual save that has you right in the middle of another quest (I had one in the middle of gig:bring me the head of gustavo orta) load that up and Takemura won't immediately call you. Once you have loaded it up you want to get to the point where it asks you to leave the building or like me it wants you to pick the body up and take it outside to the car and once you get down there you want to time exactly when Takemura is going to call you and before he does you want to make sure you are in combat, then pull up your phone the moment before he calls and call anyone that will answer. Once they answer it will automatically hang up on them and you want to make sure the gig finishes by putting the body in the trunk or just leaving area or whatever your gig requires and then leave combat. Once you have left combat it will resume your call and Takemura at the same time and all you have to do is hang up and it will hang them both up and then your fixer will call with Takemura and thank you for your work and then it will hang them both up and viola! You have now gotten through the glitch! Sorry for how long that was...

It's not too bad on the XBox One X, but I installed my games on a "Seagate 3.5" HDD 8TB Backup Plus Desk Hub External Hard Drive" (max. Transfer Rate => 160MB/s).

I was referring to people who think that the game should run smoothly on old gen consoles. But as you wrote it's not bad, I think that after the improvements those who play on old gen consoles can enjoy a good product. Improvements that have already taken place anyway. The takemura bug I read could be the fault of the additional mods that have been put in. mod that have not been published by cd project

I have to say that I was very hopefull about this patch but in general it is dissapointing.
Tested on the basic PS4. It is obvious that while some things are fixed others are being broken in the process.

Nothing outside performance and quest fixes addressed in this patch and the amount of broken mechanics and weird animation glitches is so high that this will take long months or even years to properly clean.

I have a feeling that without some help from a professional outside source you won't be able to fix the code yourselves. (to the quality that the players are expecting at least)
Tweeking field of view and cutting out most of pedestrians and traffic is not the way to go with performance on old gen.
These versions should be redone in a way. It just uses assests and effects that are obviously not compatible with old hardware. (I have never seen such bad lighting glitches on my PS4 and this grainy effect when game tries to jump from 360p to 1080p)

All that said, I have been enjoying the game for over 160 hours now and still having fun. (second playtrough)
Night city is extremely addictive. I got my moneys worth. But it still feels like an alpha-beta release.

These are the bugs and glitches that irritate me the most and were the most frequent in my 2 playtroughs:
-animations - V seem to have problems even with walking properly. Looking at your own shadow tends to be a horrific experience. (Fix the shadow asap. It ruins immersion so much...). Almost all other animations of your character are also bugged.
-controls in your games were always clunky but this is an action oriented game and too many times buttons are unresponsive or actions come with a delay.
-camera automatically zooms in every few times I step from a car.
-every so often I can see the wrong crosshair of my weapon (even when holstered).
-not being able to pick up around 20% of the loot.
-issues with changing car view (It looked like the 1.1 patch fixed that but after reaload same problem occurs)

Game needs a general balance overhaul. Because at this point the "RPG" side of the game is just....meh. I mean at some point of the game I felt like I was cheating. That I have a god mode on or something. Enemies are either super overpowered (higher level) or pure cannon fodder.

And you really need to think through what you want this game to be. Do you want it to be an RPG or an Action-Adventure?
If the first than make the game a proper RPG when the mechanics actually matter, where choices matter and you can easily ignore the pedestrian AI or traffic issues. But if you want it to be an Action-Adventure than you have to work on other aspects more as well.

CDPR definitely do not understand the meaning of the word optimization. For some reason they think optimization and downgrade are synonymous.
Indeed. Something that I am starting to be worried about.....

Patch 1.1 for Cyberpunk 2077 is now available on PC, consoles and Stadia!

In this update we focused on various stability improvements, which you can find outlined in the patch notes below. We will continue this work in patch 1.2 and other upcoming updates. At the same time we will keep fixing the bugs you encounter and listening to your feedback on how to improve the overall game experience.

Stability

Various stability improvements including:
  • Memory usage improvements in various systems within the game: characters, interactions, navigation, in-game videos (news, tv, etc.), foliage, laser effects, minimap, devices, AI, street traffic, environmental damage system, GPU-related, and more.
  • Various crash fixes (related to, among others, loading saves, game opening/closing and Point of No Return).
Quests/Open World
  • Fixed an issue where calls from Delamain would end immediately and seem like they cannot be picked up in Epistrophy.
  • Fixed an issue where players would not receive calls from Delamain when approaching relevant vehicles in Epistrophy.
  • Fixed an issue where the objective could get stuck on "Answer the call from Mr. Hands" in M'ap Tann Pèlen.
  • Fixed an issue where Judy could teleport underground in Pyramid Song.
  • Fixed an issue where it would be impossible to talk to Zen Master in Poem of The Atoms.
  • Fixed an issue where Takemura wouldn't call in Down on the Street.
  • Fixed an issue where Jackie could disappear in The Pickup.
  • Fixed an issue where it could be impossible to get out of the car in The Beast in Me: The Big Race.
  • Fixed an issue where players could stop receiving calls and messages after moving too far away from A Day In The Life area.
  • Fixed an issue where opening the package wouldn't update Space Oddity.
  • Retro-fixed the saves affected by a rare issue where speaking to Judy in Automatic Love would be impossible due to an invisible wall. The underlying issue is under investigation.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from collecting the reward in Gig: Freedom of the Press. The quest will auto-complete for those who could not collect the reward previously, and the reward will be provided automatically.
  • Fixed an issue where Delamain would remain silent throughout Epistrophy if the player initially refused to help him.
UI
  • Fixed an issue where prompt for exiting braindance could be missing.
  • Removed an invalid item from loot.
Visual
  • Fixed an issue where a grenade's trajectory could be displayed in photo mode.
  • Fixed particles' hue appearing pink when viewed close up.
  • Fixed cars spawning incorrectly in Reported Crime: Welcome to Night City.
Achievements
  • Fixed an issue where completing one of the assaults in progress in Santo Domingo would sometimes not contribute towards progression for The Jungle achievement, preventing its completion.
Miscellaneous
  • Addressed the issue responsible for saves getting oversized (related to the modifier indicating if the item is crafted), and trimmed the excess size from already existing saves (note: this won’t fix PC save files corrupted before 1.06 update).
  • Fixed an issue where input could stop registering upon opening the weapon wheel and performing an action.
  • Fixed an issue where the "Continue" button in the Main Menu could load an end game save.
PlayStation-specific
  • Performance optimization of crowds on PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 5.
  • Various crash fixes on PlayStation 4.
Xbox-specific
  • Improved memory usage for character creation, mirrors, scanning, camera remote control, menus (inventory, map) on Xbox One, Xbox One X and Xbox One S.
PC-specific
  • It will now be possible to obtain achievements while in Steam offline mode. Note: Offline mode needs to be enabled before starting the game. This change does not work retroactively.
  • Addressed the game startup crashes related to loading cache on NVIDIA graphics cards.
Stadia-specific
  • Concert audio should no longer be inaudible in Never Fade Away.
  • Fixed corrupted textures on several melee weapons.
  • Tweaked default deadzone settings to be more responsive. Note: the change will not affect settings unless they’re set to default.
First comment on this site. Just wanted to say thank you guys for this beautiful game, I bought it and never looked back or regretted it. I'm on Xbox One S and call me lucky but I've never encountered a save glitch or any other restricting glitches; none that I didnt find my own way around anyway. Keep up the great work guys, this and Witcher are wonderful games and I wish I could work with you guys to help create the inevitable genius inventions you have yet to create.

I am currently experiencing a bug or mechanic in-game that's quite peculiar. My handgun experience is stuck at level 7 and the experience indicator states that this is "Max Level 100%". My Reflexes attribute is currently at 7 and I am level 50 with no way to increase this attribute any further. Is the max level of Perk skill trees tied to the level of your attribute? In other words, does your Attribute level cap your Perk level? If so, why? Would it be possible to uncouple these two things? While I understand Attributes controlling which perks you have access to, this particular design choice seems to limit player choice.

Yes it does and you are meant to need to make a choice.

Everything works fine for me so far. "Down on the Street" worked as well. Takemura called, we talked, quest advanced as expected.
Performance seems to be slightly better in some places (though I never had any problems to begin with.)
If there are loot changes I didn't notice and actually don't care at all. :)
What platform are you on? I'm on PS5 and aside from the occasional crash I've had a few game mechanic glitches like an enemy in mid air firing at me right on top of me which was a bitch to kill and NPCs appearing out of nowhere along with the cop AI still bugged. Now the loot boxes are no longer able to be rerolled was a real killer for me.

Thank you. I must have missed the point where this was made explicitly clear. I hope we get the opportunity to re-roll attributes or get a new game+ mode soon. I am sad that I can't fully upgrade the handgun progression. Again, thank you.

CDPR definitely do not understand the meaning of the word optimization. For some reason they think optimization and downgrade are synonymous.
Indeed. Something that I am starting to be worried about.....

Hopefully in next patch they add "downgrading" slider in graphics options. Three levels:
- downgraded beyond salvation
- downgraded like hell
- normal (like in patch 1.06)

I really love the game, already clocked more than 100 hours... Just this path made me angry and sad. Need to vent .

I'm on PC.
I never rerolled any loot before this patch. This "perfect build" thing is just not my thing. I prefer to stay in the gameworld instead of reloading games just to get better drops.
I also don't get why people are mad about it. In the end that's a gameplay choice they made and done. Apparently it's supposed to work like that.
Well... On PC I could just load a mod and customize my save to give me whatever I wanted... which I don't do as well. :D

Indeed. Something that I am starting to be worried about.....

At least as female v in a skirt/dress if you look straight down when running there is something very strange going on and your legs don't seem to be running and maybe this is the reason there is no 3rd person view cause they would need to have proper leg animations.

After patch random police star, jump out of car run up to group and it can take 8-10 seconds before you get weapon up.

About enemy and scaling and levels. The biggest fault of this game is some built in damage scaling with your level and this seems like they really don't understand how other games and mmo's do this.

In most MMO's you do hit lower level enemies harder because you level lowers their armor, they do not increase your weapon damage at least no by much, you do get increased stats the increase this a little but is mostly not really noticeable.

That is also why if going against higher level enemies you might only do 1 or 2 damage or less and it will be impossible to kill that enemy.

Only way to do more damage is to get a new weapon that does more damage.

CP have done something really strange here and that is why damage numbers are out of whack.
Also going against high level enemies is easy in CP all you need is a weapon like Widowmaker, upgrade it to epic so you have 3 mod slots I think. Put in 3x5% chance to apply the poison damage bumping this up to 55% or 60%.

Now enemy level does no longer matter. Just shoot until poison is applied. hide wait until it stops ticking, shot again until applied and this weapon can shoot through walls.

Sure your bullets only do 2 damage or whatever but your poisons will tick for hundreds or even thousands of damage and any level enemy dies.

Why you feel like a god after like level 35 or so is because there are no level 40 or 50 enemies besides story missions.
Everything in open world will be easy or very easy. There has to be some cut area that was supposed to be at least 40+ because levels after 40 gets really slow since nothing gives any xp any more.

Getting 100xp for gigs and stuff when maybe you need 40k seems really dumb.

There should been something about biotechnica that is level 40+ maybe I dunno, there needs to be added higher level area not stop at 35 when secret ending requires you to be 42 or so to not go really bad.

The moment that you sell your game with Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo etc, you are automatically giving me (as a buyer) assurance that the game is in a good state. So in other words "It runs smoothly".
It doesn't have to be beautiful or full FPS all the time but it has to be on a decent level.
There is a reason why first time ever Sony decided to pull it off the PS store.

I love the game even on the basic PS4 but I am not afraid to admit that:
A) technically it is just terrible.
B) It is an early access game for full price. (in-game analyze mode is the perfect example that from the start we were treated like beta testers)

Yup. many valid points here. I think they cut out big chunks of Pacifica and maybe westbrook. See like Mr. Hands is the only Fixer that is not visible on the map? And has only one gig? My idea is that mr hands was just the "glue" to put the story together and was added into the game at last possible moment. For the main story purpose. They didn't have time to finish pacifica so they just blocked most of it.... At least that is my idea.

The main focus of this patch was the last gen consoles.

And they actually did a great job there, the game is running between 20 and 30 fps from what I've seen in youtube.

[...]

I wasn't expecting those improvements on last gen, but they are there. Props for CDPR.

uhm actually not really much changed... textures still need to long to load... if I drive to fast they just dont load in time - im crashing into things I can't see sometimes ending in a blue screen cause its to much for the system to get it all at once when I stopp driving... enemies disappear right after I kill them without dropping loot at all - and most of the areas feel like a ghost town now... just 1-3 random npc around.... so hmm no not what I expected to be honest... : / (ps4)

Yeah and again it boils down to their scripting engine for gigs and missions are hopelessly broken and bad.

I experienced several places where their scripting engine stops working if game crashes in wrong place or if you try to reload in wrong place.

Like when in taxi going to heist. If you do a reload in taxi ride you will be stuck.
So why do they do an autosave in that instance ? Just do one before taxi ride and wait with next until inside lobby or something.

This is stuff that has broken gigs, missions and stuff for me:
Crashing during scripting engine updates.
Getting a street cred update at same time as mission, gig updates or phone calls.
Getting a level up at same time as mission, gig updates or phone calls.
Getting another phone call just as a gig or mission is supposed to complete.
Getting a skill update when mission or gig is supposed to complete.
Looting too many items making scripting engine busy with showing you all new things you picked up can also break missions and gig updates.

Once I understood this I more or less made sure to just farm out street cred before doing anything else.
This I think is because you get new gigs with every level of street cred that needs to be added to a list that finishing current quest is updating and they seem to lack functionality to handle a deadlock in correct way or something since this kindof thing happens.

And just keeping very close eye on quest updates making sure I stand still and do nothing until it update and also sometimes waited to loot before it updated.

If close to level up go grind some random groups a bit to gain level before doing more quests.
