Patch 1.23

+
Really hoping the upcoming patch will start to add the cut features into the game and flesh out the city more. Fingers crossed!

Can you also confirm how much free space is left on the SSD? Good idea is to keep about 20% of the total disk space free.
Thank you. Will have to double check actually when I get home. It was lighter but I did install a game recently

Edit: ok just double checked. I have a bit over 40% free space but deleting that last game solved the issue. Now I have 50% free disc space

Even after the 1.23 update I cant finish the game in PS4 Pro. The dolls mission, that you have to collect info in the street and enter in the van. I can't do both. I can talk to Judy inside the van, but I can't enter to continue the mission. And the dolls are frozen, I can throw granades on them and they stay in the same place. There is no option to interact with them. It still have shadow bugs. When you are in the car the shadow starts to bug sometimes. There are A LOT of itens that I know I can take and there is no option to take. The map bugs A LOT when using the GPS, sometimes making you loop because it don't know how to make you achieve your destiny. There is an item inside a fridge in the dumping ground, but I cant take because there is no option to do that. There are a lot of things without physics yet, that you can go through. NPCs are still spawning in the middle of the cafeteria during the talk with the Arasaka guy. And I'm only in the beginning of the game. The game is far from good. The game has everything to be the best game ever, but is really frustrating playing at this point.

And I forgot mentioning that some cars are still entering the ground, but sometimes they respawn above the ground.

It seems like all these bugfixes are workarounds for the bugs and not actual fixes to the underlying systems that creates the bugs.
If my what I suspect is correct the code will eventually be so bloated making it run even slower then now.

I agree it could have been a great game, just if they would have made it playable from start without the insane amount of crashes and made the intro a lot shorter and made it so all map is open after intro, so you could start with different things for different playtroughs.

Also letting you keep stuff for second/third plays like Mass Effect and other games like this.

I'm no expert, but i too have the impression that the code for this game isn't organized in the best possible way. All the funny bugs happening all the time are, in my humble opinion, the sign of a quite complex code with a less then optimal structure.

Plus, in a game so huge, it's much faster and less expensive to create "workarounds", because rewriting the code from the building foundation would be very time and money consuming, and it's simply too much work.

That's why in 7 months we still haven't seen any major changes to the systems underlying the game. They are probably (PROBABLY) working on some aspects, but in the maintime they had to do something to reduce the most severe bugs, and creating workarounds is probably the most immediate way to try and put a patchwork on them.

I mean, i don't know about others, but i'm on Xbox Series X and i haven't seen an actual reduction of NPC clones on the streets, even if the patch notes are saying otherwise. It's quite obvious they're trying to fix things without touching "too much" code, because messing too much would result in breaking too many things and create brand new bugs as a result (as is the case with Photomode, which has been ruined by a patch i think three or four months ago, and is still broken because CDPR probably still don't know exactly what caused the problem in the first place).

awesome job on the fixes you're doing, but I have one, that is, making it kind of hard to "100%' the game, in the Gig: Small Man, Big Evil, where you have to kill Jae-Hyun, i killed him, but it never finished the Gig, i still have the mission, but no markers or anything for that mission.

You can try to search him, maybe you could manage to find him (or his unconscious body) on higher ground of Kabuki and also look if there is a Fixer's car on the street, near his "position".

Edit: ok just double checked. I have a bit over 40% free space but deleting that last game solved the issue. Now I have 50% free disc space

Whoa. Definitely sounds like the saved game was borked. Maybe an endlessly running script or something. I doubt it should have been anywhere near that big.

Ah sorry. Not the save file. I deleted a full big game so the SSD went from 40% free space to 50% and that solved the issue.

Okay but are you ever going to fix the bugs that people actually notice? Like the one where some items/corpses aren't lootable for no apparent reason? Or the one where mousing over weapons in your inventory only brings up the stat windows for half of them?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think you have a legendary iconic weapon equiped and that's the bug. The description is too high for the screen and the window is not showed.
But that's affect most of other weapons, because the comparaison is active. If you disable it, only your iconic will be affected ;)

I'm still waiting for any of the fabled improvements (other than a slight FPS increase) to magically make themselves known on XB1 - other than the fps, it's just as bad as it's always been.
