Patch 2.0 makes game invalid/incomplete

I have Windows 7, 64.
I use the Retail Version (Coll. Edition)
Yes. 2.0, not 2.1.
Yes, my PC runs the game, I have finished it once already on patch 1.35.
Using the registry tool from FAQ#19 does not change anything.

First I'll tell you, what I did - then what happens:
1. Inserted CD, opened CD in a folder, used "Run As Admin". I tell it not to download Patch 2.0 - The Game is installed and works. It downloads a patch (I assume 1.35) automatically.
2. I downloaded the Patch 1.35 and ran it as admin. - Didn't change anything noticeable, because it probably was on there already.
3. I downloaded Patch 2.0 and ran it as admin. - Here comes the problem:
The launcher won't open. Accessing the /bin-folder allows me to run config.exe, BUT: Running "witcher2.exe" makes a process "Witcher 2" open for about a second and then instantly disappear. It doesn't even show up as an application in the normal task manager.

The same situation happened back when I had played the game the first time and patch 2.0 was downloaded by the automatic downloader.

I now downloaded patch 2.1. When trying to execute it, it says: "Installed game version is either invalid or incomplete."

Look in your witcher 2 folder for a readme.rtf file that should tell you what patch is installed . The patching should consist of 0->1.35 then 1.35->2.0 and finally 2.0->2.1
all can be found at the link http://en.thewitcher.com/support/

Intalled and checked again. The game, upon installation, automatically updates onto patch 1.35.
If I then manually install patch 2.0, it stops working as described above.
And just to make this clear: If I do not install the patch manually but let it install right upon game-installation by the autoinstaller, it breaks as well.

pps.: I am also well aware, that this is addressed in the FAQ. But following the Faq (I said above, what exactly I did) does simply not help.

I was told by the TechSupp to use the CR-patch which patches in a different way. That alone didn't change anything but using the Registry Tool on it enabled me to run patch 2.1 and now I can open the Launcher again. (And, indeed, play with the new content.)

The first bit of the readme should reade something like "Patch x.x might be installed differently on each" blabla.

Since they gave it to me, I assume it's okay to repost it:
http://wpc.4d7d.edgecastcdn.net/004D7D/files/Patch%202_0/Critical%20Rebuild%20Patch%202_0.rar

Try running that and then, if necessary, use the Registry Tool. (In the FAQ of "Technical Support" on the Witcher page, #19).

The game works for me now, albeit a bit rocky. Might be due to patch 2.1, I don't know.
