Patch 2.01

+
A few bugs I noticed within the first few minutes of the new patch.

Controller is now bugged - if you use the controller then use the keyboard then go back to controller the icons do not revert and the controller scheme also gets broken.

Footstep sound effects are now bugged - in 2.0 you get different sound effects depending on the type of footwear you have on, now they're all the same sound and worse yet there's a weird creaky/squeaky effect accompanying it that's incredibly annoying. On top of that the footfall sound has gotten very loud to the point of distraction.

EDIT:

Okay, found a couple of solutions and have more specific details now that I've played around a bit more.

For the controller, it only seems to get stuck if you enter the hacking minigame in controller mode then switch to keyboard then back out. To fix, going into a menu and wiggling the mouse around and then using the controller will take care of it.

For the broken footstep audio, simply unequipping your outfit then reequipping it will fix it.

Beside, as far as I can remember (I play on Xbox since the first one^^), xbox updates always represents a good chunk of the games even if there is little changes (in the patch note).
i think its how the diffrent systems deploy the update. Think the consoles allways have much bigger file sizes since they have to redownload much more of the game.

People have posted this already but I also wanted to report that when the car radio is playing, car sound effects (engine, horn, tires etc.) are too low volume now after patch 2.0.1. With the radio set to "no station," car sound effects sound fine but with a radio station selected/playing, the car sound effects become almost inaudible. Even when lowering "car radio volume" in the settings, the volume of the car sound effects are just too low in the overall mix. The car sound effects volume was perfect before and I'm hoping this is a bug or unintentional.

2023.... cyber arms on male character still have a visual bugs... female meshes under male meshes... and cloth is glitch.... HOW ABOUT FIX DIS MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

... And this, is it fixable?! it is embarassing to see such animations in a game.

I am ~70h in the game, 2.0 was fine but 2.0.1 completely broke it.

Arm cyberware (Gorilla Arms) is now down from Tier 5 to Tier 1.
Cyberware capacity is still bugged (you cannot update cyberware, because you will have not enough capacity to equip what was already equiped).
Some of the weapon mods got randomly down from Tier 5 to Tier 4.

Are you guys even testing your updates? c'mon...

Is there any way to downgrade to version 2.0 in GoG galaxy? It seems I can only go back to 1.63 but not to 2.0? Any ideas?
Otherwise I think I will just drop the game, despite the $$ spent, I am not wiling to invest any more of my time into this buggy mess.

The gorilla arms thing happened to me too, at first I thought I've always had the basic ones installed, but apparently it's just yet another bug. Another thing that happened to me is that I couldn't call any of my cars anymore by pressing V, and I also couldn't break in any of the NPCs cars (no message appeared when getting close to the car's door)! After reloading it got fixed. Once I tried to self destruct a van and the van just van...ished, leaving the quickhack loading icon floating where the van was supposed to be.

Cloth animations on buildings in Dogtown are still locked at 30 fps for some reason, vegetation in front of volumetric smoke flickers heavily with ray reconstruction on. Many npcs during dialogues have objects glitched in their hands, like bottles, mobile phones, weapons, and so on, where they shouldn't hold anything... Killed enemies float in mid air instead of laying on the gorund, or they glitch through objects.

Hello, i am having an issue with the mission where you become aguilar and infiltrate the wake of hanson. after the part where you become aguilar and attempt to enter the wake, for some reason the door is closed and i cannot enter. i tried restarting from past saves, doing seperate missions, sleeping, fast traveling back and forth, nothing fixes it. and im stuck and can no longer progress the main story missions. please fix asap!!!

I'm far for being an expert, but I always thought because it's a "close" system and to avoid any update issue, the "update package" also include "files/things" which don't change. A bit like : Even if only a single file is changed in a folder, no matter how many files there are in this folder, you have to download the whole folder again.
I mean, games have the same size on PC and on Xbox or almost, the changes are the same or almost, but on PC it's only 2GB while on Xbox it's 30GB :D

maybe i should delete the save game folder and test if CP77 saves in the game folder then?
no harm done i guess, since i can t past that elevator anyway right now *kek*
I'm not sure its a good idea, maybe this is another programming mistake and they will correct it. And then we will eventually find out accidently one day that a change happened again .. I cant see them publicly broadcasting this if it was an embarassing mistake. And I would expect if this affected all GOG users they would be up in arms by now shouting "Where are my saves going!, I cant find my recent saves on the hard drive"

Or .. me doing a complete clean installation is what triggers it to setup the way it has .. But right now the official bug reporting site is still saying that saves are here ..

%userprofile%\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077

.. I mean I can see with my own eyes on my machine thats not true anymore, as they are saving into the games installation location, in my case at ..

D:\Games\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077

.. but maybe with a clean installation I deleted a setup file which had the proper path, so going forward the new location as I have experienced it will be the permanent one for me, but anyone else not doing a clean installation, and just doing overwrite installation (or updates) the path will still be as per the support website says

Anyway whatever anyone does, backup your saves before trying anything.
Clean install advice is here ..

But that differs from what support staff told me yesterday morning, for GOG users :
Please perform a clean installation of the game. Carefully follow all the steps below.

  1. Backup your save files. If possible, transfer them to an external device (for example, SD card).
    Saves are located here: %userprofile%\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077\
  2. Disable GOG Cloud for Cyberpunk 2077.
  3. Uninstall Cyberpunk 2077.
  4. Go to your GOG directory and see if there is a Cyberpunk 2077 folder, if so, remove it.
  5. Remove:
    • Cyberpunk 2077 and REDEngine folders from %userprofile%\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\
    • CD Projekt Red folder from %userprofile%\AppData\Local
    • mods folder from ...\Cyberpunk 2077
    • mod folder from ...\Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc
    • plugins folder from ...\Cyberpunk 2077\bin\x64
    • scripts folder from ...\Cyberpunk 2077\r6
    • red4ext folder from ...\Cyberpunk 2077\red4ext
  6. Restart your PC.
  7. Install Cyberpunk 2077 again on an SSD. Do not install any mods.
If you are installing the game on the same partition as you have the Operating System installed, to ensure that the game won't be blocked by Windows permissions settings, make sure to install it on the drive root and not nested in some folders.
  8. Run the game through GOG Galaxy by clicking "Play" and see if the issue persists.
  9. If it's fixed, copy your save files to the newly created Cyberpunk 2077 folder in the location from step #1.
  10. Re-enable GOG Cloud if you want.

I dont use mods, but since the advent of REDMod I think this is the latest best clean install advice for GOG.

I suspect also the support site needs a fair bit of attention in the details of some of their advice articles.

Patch 2.01 for Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty is being rolled out on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It fixes the most common issues players have encountered and improves overall performance on all platforms, especially in Dogtown.

For details, check out the list of changes below:

Phantom Liberty-specific
  • Balls to the Wall - When talking to Paco, repeating the blue dialogue option from the Corpo lifepath will no longer block progress.
  • Dog Eat Dog - Fixed an issue where it was possible to earn multiple Relic points by triggering the first meeting with Songbird more than once.
  • Firestarter - Fixed an issue that could cause V to get stuck in the wall or roof after performing a Finisher on Kurt Hansen.
Moving Heat
  • Fixed an issue that could cause all traffic to disappear after completing the quest.
  • Fixed an issue where triggering combat in the garage in specific scenarios could cause various disruptions to quest flow.
  • New Person, Same Old Mistakes - Fixed an issue where the gate to Bill's hot dog stand was closed.
Somewhat Damaged
  • Fixed an issue preventing the player from scanning the Neural Network system.
  • Various fixes for devices in the bunker.
  • The Killing Moon - Fixed an issue that caused the doors leading to the shuttle to not open.
You Know My Name
  • Fixed an issue where V could remain connected to the sniper nest, blocking quest progress, after repeatedly switching cameras at the end of the sequence.
  • Reed will now wear his party outfit during the dialogue with Songbird.
  • Addressed an issue where some phone calls necessary to continue the main story began with a delay.
  • Various visual fixes for animations, lighting, scenes, VFX, and more.
  • Performance improvements for both PC and consoles, especially in the Dogtown area.
Quests & Open World
  • Automatic Love - The distortion effect caused by talking to Johnny and selecting a specific dialogue option at the end of the quest will no longer persist on the screen.
  • Ghost Town - Fixed an issue where the quest could get stuck on the "Defeat Nash and his people" objective if the game was saved during combat prior to Update 2.0.
Gig: Breaking News
  • Fixed an issue where Ted Fox's car didn't spawn.
  • Fixed an issue where the gig wouldn't trigger after approaching the quest area.
  • Gig: Going-Away Party - Fixed an issue where it wasn't possible to get in the car with Flavio because it spawned underground.
  • Gig: The Lord Giveth and Taketh Away - Fixed an issue where the Militech SUV spawned underground.
Killing in the Name
  • Fixed an issue where leaving the quest unfinished could block clue scanning, preventing the player from progressing in many quests.
  • Fixed an issue where the Bartmoss Collective website wasn't visible in some cases.
  • Playing for Time - Fixed an issue where healing and radio icons disappeared from the HUD after the car chase with Takemura.
  • Space Oddity - Fixed an issue where the quest didn't activate if the location was approached prior to Update 2.0.
The Heist
  • Fixed an issue where Jackie wasn't present in front of the Afterlife.
  • Fixed an issue where, when riding the elevator to the 42nd floor with low FPS, V could fall through the floor and die.
  • The Prophet's Song - Fixed an issue where completing the quest could cause the police system to turn a blind eye to V's crimes.
  • The Ripperdoc - Fixed an issue where, if the player got into the driver's seat from the passenger seat, Jackie would return to the noodle stand and refuse to drive to the ripperdoc.
  • Fixed an issue where NCPD Scanner Hustles could remain uncompleted even after looting the necessary containers.
  • Fixed an issue where some Iconic weapons wouldn't appear on wall of the Stash in V's apartment.
  • Lowered the value of the Attribute check required to enter the area where the Thermal Katana can be looted.
Gameplay
  • Made it possible to properly switch to Arm cyberware by cycling through weapons.
  • Addressed an issue that could cause V to become invulnerable to all damage.
  • A wrecked NCPD cruiser without wheels won't be patrolling the streets of Night City anymore.
  • Fixed an issue where some obsolete mods in the Inventory and Stash weren't properly exchanged for a new weapon mod.
  • Fixed an issue where weapons obtained pre-Update 2.0 could have a Tier that's too high when compared to the player's level.
  • Removed various obsolete Crafting Specs.
  • Disassembling a Budget Arms Slaught-O-Matic will now give 1 crafting component.
PC-specific
  • Fixed an issue where the UI could show controller inputs when playing on keyboard and mouse.
  • Players unable to get achievements due to an issue that prevented Phantom Liberty achievements from unlocking on PC before a backend fix implemented on the day of the release will have them retroactively unlocked on GOG and Steam after loading a save from that playthrough. For the Epic Games Store, the issue is still under investigation.
  • Fixed an issue where, after installing Update 2.0 but not the expansion on GOG, a pop-up saying "Phantom Liberty downloaded - please return to the main menu to access new content" could appear in the in-game menu.
  • Improved image quality of DLSS Ray Reconstruction in the Ultra Performance setting.
Console-specific
  • Addressed the issue of corrupted saves on PlayStation by increasing the maximum save file size limit. Note: this won't fix saves corrupted before the update.
  • Fixed an issue where launching the game without an internet connection would prompt the player to log into GOG My Rewards again.
Miscellaneous
  • Various crash fixes on PC and consoles.
  • Vehicle radio volume has been adjusted so it's no longer too quiet compared to other sounds in the game. If you've turned down the volume of other sounds in order to better hear the radio, you may want to re-adjust the volume before you continue playing.
  • Added sounds for the Basilisk that were missing.
  • Fixed an issue where the player could earn an infinite score in Trauma Drama by shooting at enemies dropping from a helicopter repeatedly.
  • Growl FM and Dark Star websites will now be visible when playing without Phantom Liberty.
  • Fixed an issue where disconnecting the internet didn't result in an error message being displayed in My Rewards and Cross Progression tabs.
  • The song History by Gazelle Twin and Trash Generation will now be disabled when the "Disable Copyrighted Music" option is turned on.
  • Fixed an issue where hair didn't cast shadows when Ray Tracing was enabled.
  • Players who pre-ordered Phantom Liberty but didn't get the Quadra Sport R-7 "Vigilante" will now receive it.
  • Several improvements and changes to Ukrainian localization, including fixes for lines where the translation lost its original meaning.
REDmod
  • Fixed an issue where tweak mods would not compile in REDmod.
  • Added Phantom Liberty support to REDmod.
Hey, chooms! Please remember that these are just the highlights. There are more improvements and fixes in this patch, so check them out for yourself in the game!
My sun ending isn’t working everytime I get into the AV I die very strange

Hi I just want to thank the CDPR developers for the 2.1 patch. I was constantly crashing the game while playing DLC invetory, usage, and item shots. Then random places during events would also crash. Both old and new games had this bug. Thanks to the 2.1 java update, it's completely gone now I can play the whole game with my old big character and the new character afterwards. Fantastic. Thanks for your work. I also have a question, why I only got 63 skill points for a character with 80% development level when the maximum point is like 220 skill points. I've already done the basic story and there is nothing left on the map. Not even a Easter egg. XD The only problem with this is that I'm not sure if you can maximize your character's level while playing through the DLC if you run out of missions. Also, is there a new game+ option planned to allow you to replay your existing old, but incomplete character, transferring it to a new game with all the abilities, traits and items you have acquired? Could there be an option at the start of a new game that asks if you are creating a new character or continuing the new game with your existing character. This is the problem here with old characters, you can't fully build up the game, and after playing through the DLC you can't build up the 63 experience points you get, in my opinion. I know there are modifications thanks to the modders but I wouldn't risk saving and constant freezes with it. :beer:The all-round game is fantastic, thanks again for your work.

Mine are still in the original place.
Yes I believe that will be true for most people.
Unless you are a GOG user, and have done a complete "Clean install" routine, in my case the location has changed.

2023.... cyber arms on male character still have a visual bugs... female meshes under male meshes... and cloth is glitch.... HOW ABOUT FIX DIS MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I noticed this also, that both male V, and when you control Johnny in flashbacks, they both have female hands sometimes and react with female V's voice with grunts from taking bullets and such. That's in 2.00 for me.

The gorilla arms thing happened to me too, at first I thought I've always had the basic ones installed, but apparently it's just yet another bug. At least they're setting themselves up for success. The next game will surely exceed expectations when these are the ones they leave behind.

... And this, is it fixable?! it is embarassing to see such animations in a game.
Apparently not for CDPR it would seem.

Not gonna lie, with all these new bug reports I am wondering if I should wait a while longer for further fixes rather than play now; I'm going to check the bug related to the Cyberware limit being wonky and that'll probably determine whether I keep going or wait.
