Patch 2.1 ... Heaven or hell?

+
Could it be GeForce Experience?
I could be wrong, but I think I already read somewhere that GeForce Experience could change your game(s) settings, generally for the worst.
(Settings > Games > Uncheck Automatically optimize my games)
Could be. To be noted: older games that has been out a long time usually work very well with GeForce Experience, say AC Odyssey or Fallout 4. Newer games... probably shouldn't use it until the game is done patched and has been out for a year after the last patch maybe.

On series X, stability tanked too.. That plus all the new bugs like with finishers, broken quests etc.
So, Hell. Stopped playing.

after many test on CP 2077 patch 2.1 and the old patch 2.xx , find out isn't the setting 're broken but they way now the game drow max power both CPU/GPU .. even we get a bigger max fps , its come with
- bottlenech CPU or GPU
- hyperthrolling
- stuttering , peak lag , freeze
even if you cap yur fps that do nothing xD

my CPU, an i7 10750h go this way on other heavy game
power on heavy load around 37/41w , temp 80/90 , 0.9 v
on CP 2077 even on the lowest setting
power above 50w , temp over 96°C , over 1.3v ...Oo

on CP 2077 1.63 its all fine
my concern on CP 2077 regardless bug or picking any setting , my laptop is burning
yes i know gaming laptop can handle over 85/90°C but at least us the player pick setting to keep temp low :)

Hell for me.

The performance is fine, I didn't notice a change between 2.0x and 2.1, but GRAPHICALLY 2.1 seems to have a LOT of issues...

This is my post with a few examples of just how bad the graphical issues are getting now. No such nonsense under 2.0x.

I am also having terrible performance in 2.1, no matter what preset I choose be it Low, Medium, High, Ultra, I get 45-65 FPS. My PC is more than well equipped to play this game, especially at 1080p. Only when I turn on DLSS Frame Generation does it perform well.

My Specs:
GPU: ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 OC
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
RAM: Kingston FURY Beast 16GB (2x8) DDR4 @ 3200MHz CL16
MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE B550 GAMING X V2 rev1.4 (BIOS ver.FC)
STORAGE: Crucial MX500 500GB SATA SSD (OS), Crucial P3 1TB PCIe 3.0 M.2 NVMe SSD (Games)
PSU: Corsair RM750x 750W 80+ Gold

All of my games are installed on an NVMe SSD, all of my other games (except this and TLOU for some reason) are running perfectly.
I have tried doing a complete clean install of Windows 11 23H2 to a brand new MX500, I have tried using DDU and clean installing my NVIDIA drivers, I have also reinstalled my chipset drivers and reflashed my BIOS. Nothing is fixing this so I am going to assume that it's an optimization issue for some people with certain hardware configurations.

My partners GIGABYTE A5 K1 RTX 3060M + R5 5600H laptop is performing exactly the same as mine in this game, and he is also struggling from the same issue where no matter what settings you pick, it doesn't affect the framerate.

cdpr really don't plan to do anything until January? I don't understand how they could release a patch where you can't even open the subway letter in the elevator

No, actually, given their previous successes, I'm not surprised.

Yeah whatever it is, it is not our system. i have a very annoying issue that when i move (left and right) the camera fast then my FPS falls down and it is worse when RT is enabled.
My specs : 4070ti , i5 13600kf , 32 GB vengeance pro 3600 mhz , asus b760 wifi d4.
on paper i could have 60fps in 1080p with RT ultra easily but no.
Some users in steam community have told if you roll back your Nvidia driver to version 537.42 wich came out for phantom dlc may fix the problem but i didnt test it myself because im playing other games.

Hey you should try disabling the Steam overlay if you're using the Steam version, if you're using the GOG version try launching it without GOG open. Doing this doubled my framerate.

Oh thanks. i will try it. so you mean your FPS just fixed by that ?
Yeah seems to be fixed, I still get dips into the 70-80FPS range in super dense areas but out of those areas I get around 130FPS average. Before I was literally getting 45-70FPS no matter what. Hugely improved my performance.

Performance on 2.1 isn't great, but the performance in Dogtown is atrocious. On top of this, Nvidia's drivers for the last several months are a total joke as well. It's frustrating when you have to keep reverting back to older drivers and go through the entire "reboot > safe mode > DDU > reboot > install driver > reboot" every time I find out that yes, yet again, Nvidia's newest driver is a performant nightmare. Seems like the only people trying to optimize their gaming experience anymore are the end-users.

I went from being able to run the game with FSR3+Pathtracing+a mix of high and ultra settings with no need for DLSS and maintain a solid 75FPS on my 3080 Ti system through all of the base game, but after the update to 2.1 from 2.0 and now reaching Dogtown, I've had to completely disable any form of raytracing (PT or otherwise) all together because it leaks VRAM so fast that after only a few minutes of playing, it's already reached the maximum limit of what my GPU can do (around 11GB of VRAM used up in less than 15 mins of gaming) and my FPS drops down into the 30-40 range.

That's an incredible disparity from one portion of the same game to another, and while I know CDPR is trying to push visual improvements, I feel like it's at too much of a cost, and that it's a jarring experience to have to go from one extreme kind of visual to another (from using pathtracing to no raytracing at all) and having to completely change your entire graphics settings just because you drove through a checkpoint.

And this isn't just plebs like me with low VRAM. I'm seeing hundreds of complaints on Reddit, Nexus, and here, from people with 3090's and 4090's with 24GB+ of VRAM about the same problem. So, it just keeps eating your VRAM until it's gone no matter what you have.

Even before my VRAM is completely tanked, I'm still already getting 20FPS less in Dogtown than I do in the wider city areas with the same graphics settings, it just drops another 20FPS once the VRAM is done for. This is made even worse by the fact that the VRAM leak happens to a more drastic extent if you spend any amount of time in your inventory or map. Every time you open one of these things, your VRAM usage goes up and stays there, stacking.

We really need something done about this. I can play the game in Dogtown, but if I want to maintain 75FPS, I have to completely disable raytracing all together. And that's a shame when just across the checkpoint, I can maintain 75FPS with PATHTRACING enabled. I absolutely love this game. It's a masterpiece, but we're in serious need of not just optimization, but homogenization.

I have this same problem! And weirder, it only happens sometimes. It's so strange. When I move around quickly or move my camera around, it tanks by around 10-15FPS, sometimes more. Insane.

Anyone having a problem where FPS consistently drops when going from one area to another?

For instance, driving from the Badlands into the City Center will cause a major FPS drop (10-20) but then if I save and reload while in the City Center, the FPS is back to normal.

Same thing if I go from the H10 Megabuilding apartment into the street.

Had this issue since 1.6. Either there's an unresolved memory leak issue, or they fucked up the streaming, or my RAM or... something... cannot handle it. Thoughts? Anyone have the same problem?
