Patch 2.12

+
It is quite highly disruptive, for me :) ... I know, it is only a matter of time to get used to it, but ... Anyway, Thx for advice, I know about this option. What I do not know is whether will work mods (especially redmods) with using directly CP2077 executable. For now I use clean game, but there are some nice mods which I may like to install again sometime later.

I can't speak about whether REDmod mods would work if you bypass both Galaxy and the launcher. I'm running a vanilla game for the moment and there aren't any REDmod mods I'm interested in these days anyway.

But, it worked just fine if you bypassed just the launcher before. The REDmod setting activation isn't done through the launcher. It's done through Galaxy. Redirecting your executable path to the .exe wouldn't stop you from using REDmod whenever you decide to mod your game again.

Anyone know how to get rid of this bloat (sample below) that now pops up after I click play in GOG Galaxy? Also, the Cyberpunk 2077 icon on the desktop pops up the same garbage then I click play and the game loads. I want to go straight to the game instead of seeing The Witcher ads on the left sidebar and other crap I can find on CDPR website. This came with 2.12. Oh, and the little gear icon next to the play button only enables/disables mods which I can already do in Gog Galaxy. Game loading is slower with this.

You can launch directly from the .exe file, in the /bin/x64 folder within the CP2077 folder.

Quoting myself from 3 post before yours

In other words, just run the game's .exe - go to your main CP2077 folder and then bin -> x64 and run from Cyberpunk2077.exe. It will bypass both Galaxy and the launcher.

If you want to launch from Galaxy, just redirect your game to launch from the .exe instead of the redlauncher. Click CP2077 in Galaxy -> click the more icon -> configure -> features tab -> check custom executables checkbox and add a new executable path which points to the .exe.

I had no idea that CDPR would just F this up with an update. They are sinking to new lows. Thanks for the info guys. I actually thought they embedded this crap into the game cuz my desktop icon behaves the same way. They are just like Apple now. Changing the way things work not giving a crap about it's customers. And as a matter of fact Microsoft did same crap with Windows 8 and 11. Large corporations no longer care, they just want more $$$.

So deleted the game on xbox S because of infiniti loading and saving problem
Installed the full new game and there it is again it keeps loading and loading when will we have a fix for this ?
does anyone can point me in the right direction about news of this problem if there is

thanks

When it happen? When performing a manual save or auto-save?
If auto-save, maybe try to delete every single auto-saves, you to be sure newly created auto-saves don't try to overwrite old one.

Thank you for patch 2.12, was reluctant to move from 2.1 until the second fix arrived and as many other had issues updating the game, my solution was to make a back-up on the save game files, do a TOTAL removal of all CP2077 files, mods and including the save games, reinstall the game fresh from scratch and then reinstall the save game files. Reinstalling the mods(playing on PC) have mostly been no problem, The game is running much smoother now than on 2.1 so cudos for the hard work.

Right.

GOG is the only storefront that offers DRM-free games. A practice that's as pro-consumer as it gets. Letting us own the games we bought and not be beholden to an app to allow us to play.

You can bypass the launcher easily because it's not meant as DRM.

CDPR also stuck around to fix and improve the game for three years when they could have simply cut their losses and moved on to the next project. The way so many have done before.

They're also one of the very few AAA developers out there that's not filling their games with micro transactions that would net them more money than expansion sized additions.

But the second some people face a launcher that adds a 1-2 seconds delay for us to get into the game they are demonized and greedy assholes exploiting us. That seems fair!

People wonder why CDPR, and almost every other development team out there, don't interact with their communities anymore. This is why. This kind of overblown anger at the smallest of things.

We deserve CDPR's silence.

The steam version also is DRM free, I'm playing the game without steam running in the background by launching it through the .exe.

In addition, if you want to launch the game through steam for achievements and playtime tracking, adding --launcher-skip to the start options will also bypass the launcher. While you're at it, also add -skipStartScreen to skip the extra screen during game start.

Oh, that's interesting to know. I didn't know CDPR could extend their DRM-free policy to products they sell on Steam. Did that also apply to The Witcher series?

Out of curiosity, do you know if it also applies if you were to make a backup of CP2077's install for offline use? In other words, is it an installer like GOG that can be used at any time or is it one of those Steam specific file that can "only" be unpacked through Steam.

I'm asking because that is one of the reasons I use GOG(and should probably use it more than I use Steam). If Steam were ever to disappear and assuming Valve didn't put anything in place to allow us to make usable backups, all these games are lost. I doubt Steam will ever disappear considering how big it is but... GOG could and all the games I own on GOG are backed up on an external SSD. This way I actually own them instead of a Steam-limited license I can theoretically lose at any moment.

Running Witcher 2 through the exe will start steam, but Witcher 3 EE works fine without steam.

For the second question, I really don't know. i usually buy a game on both steam and gog if possible, in order to have an offline installer available (and support the gog platform at the same time).

However, I can only download and install both games via steam. May be worth investigating.

I would be very interested to know if Steam allows developers to simply put an installer like what you can get through GOG. A quick Google search yields nothing and I don't think I own any game that doesn't adhere to Steam's DRM method and thus can't try this myself.

It's a conversation I'd like to see happen within the industry. Most players don't realize/don't care that Steam itself is DRM and don't consider the possibility that all their games can theoretically be lost at a moment's notice. GOG offers an alternative but Steam doesn't and the EGS is so barebones it doesn't even allow such basic functionalities as a backup install.

Interesting. This wasn't there when the patch launched but is there now.
Anyway, playing without mods since PL launch and it bothers me way more how much garbage you have to skip after the launcher before you can actually play. With mods I had it at a point where it booted seamlessly without anything and loaded the latest save right away.

Thanks but i deleted the game for something new to install .did play the game for more then 200hr and had all endings so think im done playing it ..its a shame because i only have it like 4 months an all worked perfect . its realy not fair that I should delete all my saves games because of this update ..takes a while to get V effective as possible

Don't delete your manual saves, just the auto-saves.
I didn't encounter this issue in 2.12 (not played a lot), but I did in 2.11. I "killed" the game, clear the cache (just to be sure), launch the game again, delete every automatic saves and loaded my last manual save. I didn't get the issue ever after.

Hello. My loot markers flicker when I move the camera around the marker. Does anyone have the same problem? And why is the distance to the loot markers so small? Previously, after scanning, they appearied for a long distance for some time, but now after scanning they immediately disappeared. It is very inconvenient to constantly use the scanner 100 times. And the map scrolling stutter when I use the "Auto" CPU usage setting, but when I select "Use high performance CPU usage" the problem goes away.

Patch 2.12 for Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty is being rolled out on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It focuses on main issues experienced by players after Patch 2.11, such as key bindings.

Check out the list of changes below for details:

PC-specific
  • It will now be possible to properly rebind the Radioport and dropping bodies to a different key on AZERTY keyboards. Switching quest objectives will now be assigned to the T key on all keyboards.
  • Fixed an issue where trying to bind the T key to actions in Exploration & Combat resulted in a "Binding Failed" error.
  • Together with Intel we fixed the stuttering issue that occurred while the "Prioritize P-Cores" option was enabled.
  • Together with Razer we fixed a crash that occurred when using Razer Chroma enabled devices.
  • Fixed an issue where NPC hair could appear extremely bright inside vehicles when Ray Tracing is enabled.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred on Steam Deck when playing with Ray Tracing enabled.
Xbox-specific
  • Addressed an issue where the game could enter an infinite loading state, hang up or crash on Xbox when using some saves.
All Platforms
  • Fixed an issue causing the inability to access the menu, inventory, stash, holocalls and fast travel.
  • Updated the description of the Sonic Shock quickhack so that it properly reflects the changes made to its behavior in 2.1.
  • Improved visibility of the controller cursor in menus and when using computers or keypads. This change will primarily help Steam Deck users, but will also benefit consoles and PC when using a controller.
  • New Dawn Fades - Fixed an issue where it wasn't possible to open the phone to read the notification from the Automated Delivery System.
  • I Can See Clearly Now - Lowered the Body attribute check required to move the dumpster.
  • I Walk the Line - Sasquatch's jump attack will now properly register as a hit and deal damage.
  • Riders on the Storm - Enemy cars in the chase sequence will now shoot at Panam's van.
  • Nocturne Op55N1- Fixed an issue where, after choosing to call Reed, the conversation sometimes wouldn't trigger, blocking progression.
  • Sonic Shock will now be properly categorized as a Covert quickhack.
  • Fixed instances where groups of immortal enemies could appear across Night City.
  • Fixed an issue where some elements on the perk screen wouldn't change after switching to Colorblind Mode.
  • BioDyne Berserk will now properly have increased Crit Chance from its Reflexes Attunement.
Post automatically merged:

When zooming in onto NPC'S with any sniper scope, NPC'S and vehicles just randomly vanish in thin air in the far distance.

The melee finisher must be fixed, as you are not able to aim down sight.

The fight mission with Ozob the clown still appear on the map even after beating it.

Please fix the invincibility bug.

Unable to obtain the Foxhound iconic sniper rifle.

Iconic level quick hacks are broken. Iconic cyberpsychosis doesn't benefit from EMP stacks or cyberware malfunction stacks.

A save management system for each character would be great. For example having the option to save each of your game characters on an individual slot.

Airdrops should be randomized, as I got 40 carrying capacity shards.

Allowing a player to play pool would be great. This would also add a fun addition to activities.

Phantom Liberty - When I get into Del's AV to go to the Afterlife every time we set off, it kills me.

Phantom Liberty - No vehicles can be obtained.

Vehicle handling and acceleration for both cars and bikes are very poor and should be improved.m, as vehicles do not turn realistically.

Vehicle customization and performace tuning options would be great.

NPC's still appear in mid air in various places of the game.

Please release mods for consoles.

Please release FSR 3 for consoles. Giving the user more graphic options to play with would be great.

Please fix the “must be rats” achievement on Xbox, as it no longer registers progress on a new save and I cannot unlock it.

Please fix the issue about the metal pin from songbird? I still can’t put it on my apartment’s table.

Shooting from enemy watch towers in Dogtown doesn't always work.

- The side mission with a cyber-psycho attack in the clothes shop near the corpo apartment has a chance of leaving you permanently in combat, blocking many basic features of the game. This is only fixed by restarting the game and loading an older save. Not even fast traveling fixes this issue, it only makes it worse, getting a permanent fast travel banner on your map, and repeatedly reloading your position, because you spawn inside the fast travel box.

Judy's Questline and the Edgerunners Jacket is still not fixed. None of them are working for me. Judy won't call after I dealt with the VooDoo Boys, and I've been waiting basically a week to hear back about the jacket.
