Patch 2.13

+
Idk if it's just me, but it looks like the IQ with path tracing on went down a bit. The image is much less stable in darker areas or at night, I see lot of noise in the distance, that kind of smearing/boiling effect, if you know what I mean. Some distant buildings and also the terrain were showing that. I was looking at NC from the trailer park where River's sister lives.

After 2.13 the game crash at startup on GOG. No MOD, driver nvidia updated. Tryed a fresh reinstallation, nothing to do. Now play still with the 2.12. :(

It really pains me to be a downer about this. I hope CDPR pulls off another (good) surprise as they have in the past, but the reality is that was nearly a year ago the last time it happened - The 2.1 update which brought the Metro. That came with it's share of bugs while still not addressing numerous, glaring, visual and gameplay issues but it was yet another feature that greatly improved the game. And the 2. update which brought many of the bugs I've wanted fixed was a year ago. Which is why I'm all the more certain they won't be addressed, much as I had warned myself and others given the same thing happened with TW3 NGE.

All I hope for is fixes. No improvements, no additions, no revisions - fixes. I wanted to be happy for the AMD gamers, but that is seemingly a waste because CDPR chose to poorly implement and outdated version of the plugin. Really? Why even bother, guys? I'll always respect CDPR for going above and beyond what even their most ardent stans expected of them, incredible. That gives me reason to look forward to their future games. I fully understand it has to come to an end, but that doesn't make it any less disappointing.

I suppose what makes this truly frustrating is that myself and other mod authors have documented these issues, provided detailed solutions for them, and have suggested solutions to the ones we lack the tools to address. Some of the issues aren't even bugs, but dev error/negligence. Just a matter of adjusting values or removing the object(s) causing the artifacts, etc. These aren't hacky solutions - if anything they would improve performance and stability. A handful of people could do them in a week. CDPR simply refuse to do so.

All that said I wish them the best of luck and have reasonably high expectations for what they put out in the future. They made one of the best games ever imo, and that's no easy feat! Hopefully the decisions that put them in a position where they aren't capable or willing to address bugs won't be repeated.

My game breaks after 2 Mins, map doesn't load, menu doesn't work, can't even quit the game normally, have to kill with task manager...

Running mods? If the answer is yes, that's your answer right there. Wait for your mods (especially frameworks) to be updated, update them and then it'll launch just fine. That's completely normal.

If the answer is no, then have you ever ran mods? If the answer is yes, then you will want to perform a clean install as described here:

If you never had any mods, then you might be facing a corrupted update download. It's rare but it happens, validate your files through whatever platform you use.

If that doesn't work, a clean install might still do it. If none of this work, then you may want to open your own thread and giving as much details as possible.

Thanks

But it didnt worked
I deleted the game and everything within the location.
Even installed it on the different drive and nope.
Deleted the saved games files

After pressing play, waiting a long time and crash

So without FSR 3.1 are there any actual gameplay reasons to install the new 2.13 Patch?

The current version modded with frame gen etc in it are far better as you can use DLSS upscaler.

Mod authors are slowly updating their stuff, going to wait it out I guess.
It's just frustrating, because with an extensive amount of mods it
takes hours to re-install everything. A normal un-modded game
feels limited, and I don't like playing it as much.
I feel ya.

I understand why they update the game and appreciate there is still someone fixing things.
But my first reaction is a loud what the f************************ when I see an update and know my mods will need some work.

That is down to the software design of the game... mods should be able to survive most updates.

The metro is a briefly interesting cosmetic addition that is no where near worth what they broke to deliver it.

Completely agreed with the sentiment here. I'm rooting for CDPR - I want them to succeed... but disappointing is exactly the feeling I have about some of the bugs still persisting in the game.

I'm no mod author, but I looked at Deceptious's TV Audio mod in Wolvenkit and - correct me if I'm wrong - it seems a variable was basically mislabelled and Deceptious simply corrected the typo. How does something that simple not get a hotfix?? And the endings bug - my god, how is that still there nearly a year after the expansion came out? They're selling a narrative experience, you would think the way the endings are presented would be a priority for them.

One thing you can try is going into your graphics settings in the game and switching it back to 2.1
soon as I did that, the game cleared up, and path tracing looked normal again.

Dear CDPR,

I’ve been a loyal supporter of both you and Cyberpunk 2077 from the very beginning, even during the time when many considered the game "broken" and "unplayable."

I understand that the team is moving on to exciting new projects like the upcoming Witcher and Cyberpunk titles, and that’s perfectly understandable. I’m eager to see what you’ll create with Unreal Engine 5.

That said, I would greatly appreciate it if you could make one final push to address the remaining major bugs in Cyberpunk 2077.

Additionally, I sincerely hope you’ll consider providing a tool similar to REDkit for Cyberpunk 2077 before fully closing this chapter.
Mod creators bring immense value to your game with their passion and dedication, contributing their work in their free time, driven by your incredible creation. Please don’t take this for granted, as we’ve seen with other companies.

You’ve given Cyberpunk 2077 a new heartbeat through your hard work in recent years—please keep it alive.
Don’t forget what once made you one of the best in the industry.

Thank you.

Were/are you using mods?

If so, when you uninstalled, did you remove everything? Including here:

  • REDEngine and CD Projekt Redfolders from here %userprofile%\AppData\Local\
    • If you can't see the folder in Windows Explorer window then select:
      • on Windows 10: View → Hidden items
      • on Windows 11: View → Show → Hidden items

If not, and you are/were using mods, chances are your mods modified things in and a standard uninstall will not remove those file. They have to be removed manually. It's very important to remove those files to properly scrub CP2077 from your PC.

If you did do all of this and it's still crashing after a fresh install and starting a new game, can you indicate what the crash log says?

On a funny note, this update caught my V on the texture island. Been doing drifting practice there.
So, I figured out, either wait for a few days for CET to be updated, or else be up for a looooooong swim.

Going to an earlier save was off the table. ^^ No backing off.

I wondered why the game looked ruined after the update, microstuttering all over..

On my Nvidia RTX4090 Cyberpunk changed the video settings from DLSS with Nvidia Framegeneration, to FSR3 with AMD Frame Generation, all on it's own..

Why in the name of sanity, would you think I'd want that? It is WORSE in every measurable metric.

Peeps have some mercy, they left just one intern working on the patches! :D
Mercy is for the weak!!!
Every intern is a wannabe corpo and should take full responsibility for his actions! ))
