Patch 2.3 is coming!

+
Nobody's discussung yet? :)
It's interesting to see. There was a
...that mentioned story content. Some new quests, but most probably not of the size of a DLC.
I expect few chained quests - like a miniature standalone story arc - let's say 3-10 hours of gameplay.
Still, I don't expect anything major...; mostly cosmetics and bug fixes.

Honestly, I would be very surprised if anything which require voice acting is added in the next update (2.3 apparently).
But anything else seems possible and well... welcome :)

Personnaly, I wouldn't be surprised if they announce a SMALL expansion made by Virtous tomorrow (or soon) for next year.
All this doesn't make sense, port the game on Mac (why ? i'm sure mac gamers know they can make dualboot with windows), make switch 2 version.
+ the anniversary calendar missing some data "it's just a bug in the system" thing.
And the recent "leaks".
They probably have something to sell.

I don't think it possible anymore on Apple Silicon chips (M1>M4). You have to use a virtual machines and from what I know, it's pretty "bad". I believe it's possible to run linux but well, playing the game directly on Mac OS would be way easier and I think "better" :)

I don't doubt of Virtuos capacities, but you know they made Obivion Remastered. They added some new dialogue lines which is nice but I assume because of that, the game is in english only while the original was in many languages (I can play the original game entirely voiced in french but in remaster I have to play in english with subtitles... quite a shame).
I doubt CDPR will release a DLC in english with subtitles for those who play in other available language.

It's just my opinion, but IF they add new quests, it would be :
> Either little with no voice acting like the "edgerunner" one.
> Either quests for which they can re-use dialogue lines which are already in the game like the romance hangouts in the apartment.

One of the vid I watched about this mentioned a person possibly hired to search existing voice files. It was on a link-in type site that was then removed. Mod makers have been doing this for a decade to make new quests for Bethesda games. Maybe the DEV could do the same?

I doubt this was Virtuos decision tbh. They make what they are asked for.

I just find weird to keep updating the game like that. It cost money, Virtuos doesn't work for free. And I doubt those small updates makes that much a difference for new players. What I think, those updates are the result of Virtuos learning Red Engine, to release bigger stuff later.

Another thing that I find weird: Giving Virtuos access to Red Engine and the source code, only for those "small" features? if it was made from the beginning in 2020, why not, but now ? It's adding a risk of leaks for no money.

Maybe the success of 2.0 and PL made them change their mind, and they found a solution with Virtuos to make another Expansion, while being able to focus on the next episode at the same time. And that doesn't mean Virtuos is alone on this project, they were supposed to be 0 devs on Cyberpunk 2077, they manage to make a Switch 2 version.

Yes they could and they already did it. Like I said during the hangouts with romances in the apartment, they re-used dialogue lines which were already in the game ;)
Honestly, for someone who played the game once (or a couple of times) it's would be fine I'm sure. In my case who played the game more thousands of hours, it would seem quite strange (and cheap) because I will notice directly and exactly "where" these dialogue lines come from... But I'm quite an exception.

Anyway, I keep my expectation low because I don't see CDPR adding big new content. And by "big" I mean entire quest lines fully voiced with a bunch of new dialogues, it seems impossible and above all, way too expensive (they need to bring back 22 voice actors, only for V... And they won't bring back them to register only a couple of lines for few quests).

On side note, we have to keep in mind that they said it again and again, at CDPR expansion are bigs (Phantom Liberty or Blood And Wines size) and "free" DLCs are little (very little), at best a little quest (a bit like the quest added to TW3 for the release of the show on netflix. A single quest with few items).

If the patch finally adds (good) gyro support to PS5 then I'll finally buy it. If not maybe I'll buy Dragon's Dogma 2 instead. Capcom adds gyro support to their games. :p

The fact that we're getting another patch (or maybe more than one) is expected, since the game is about to release on two new platforms. But the linked post implies something more than just bug fixes and a bit of refurbishing. Might just be a new car or some new clothes. Might be something more.

And, I'm going to be "that guy" here, and say that I'm not looking forward to it. The game is in a good place with stability, and some of the bigger mods still haven't ironed out all of the changes needed from 2.21. So, 2.3 will have to do something pretty spectacular for me to update to it any time soon.

With a new patch coming, for me, CDPR has only one job. (At least for me personally. YMMV for others as always.)

Put in an ending or two that doesn't suck copious amount of scrotum. It doesn't have to be easy to achieve. You can make players really have to work for their happy ending, but it needs to be possible.

I'm not diving back in so I can just do a handful more meaningless side quests that ultimately end up changing nothing about where V ends up and I sure am not diving back in for some new cosmetics or some new cars or whatever. New story content has been hinted at, and if it isn't some way to do things like keep both Johnny and V alive at the same time, or keep V alive and not depowered and abandoned by everybody, or something similar then I am not interested.

CDPR had the base game and then the massive Phantom Liberty expansion to put one or two endings in that would appeal to the people who AREN'T in the "lul newb, nobody should be allowed to have happy endings in Cyberpunk setting don't you know this" crowd and they did not. Those people have been well served with their preferred outcomes.

I think it is the turn of those of us who don't want to play a doom and gloom, "life sucks and then you die and there's nothing you can do to change things", simulator.

it probably won't happen, but I hope we'll be able to get something similar to the arasaka arms mod

Would be nice, but I'm not expecting it.
