Patch 2.31

+
I really like the improved self-driving cars.

Just think back to CP77 release version, how bad the NPC traffic was when it came to handling obstacles.
Now at least the player car in auto mode seems like a semi-competent driver :)

I feel like I'm living in an alternate universe because autodrive feels really unreliable to me on PC with 2.31. While the 2.3 version was slower and drove much less aggressively than 2.31, it would at least get me to my destination without slamming into something on every drive (not exaggerating). With 2.31, my cars have been all too happy to mow down light poles, rear end cars in front of me, and steer into oncoming traffic. Sure, autodrive can now turn a corner without stopping several times, but the overall experience feels much worse than what it was before.

What about those of us who actually liked having autodrive wait at lights and johnny reliably spawning? Can these changes at least be toggles in the menu? You know, like the mods with settings menus that you're copying.
Toggles would be very nice for this! I'd much prefer to tune down the aggression and enjoy the atmosphere of Night City while traveling from place to place, just like I was two days ago.

Another patch - same problem. CNN silently switches to Transformer while settings showing CNN. If someone doesn't understand the poit of this problem - watch the video from 2.3 patch below, 2.31 is the same.
Look at the FPS indicator, when FPS is 85 - transformer model is working, when FPS is 105 - CNN model is working. As you can see - I start the game with transformer model chosen, than I change it to CNN and restart the game. After the game start transformer model is working, despite CNN being chosen in settings.

My comment about gyro input was harsh and I apologize for that. I, like other people would love to get it on the platform we bought the game on. It would also be nice to have custom headlight colors with the unique color schemes!

Thank you for all the work you've put into the game!

Patch 2.31 for Cyberpunk 2077 is being rolled out on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Mac and Nintendo Switch 2!

This update includes an AutoDrive upgrade and Photo Mode adjustments. It also addresses common issues encountered by players. For details, check the full list of changes below:

Vehicles
  • Updated AutoDrive. When driving to a selected point, the vehicle now drives smoothly, overtakes blocking vehicles, and no longer stops at traffic lights. Free Roam mode has also been upgraded to follow traffic rules and navigate the city more reliably.
  • Fixed an issue where Johnny always spawned in the passenger seat when using the Delamain Cab service.
  • Fixed an issue where applying CrystalCoat to the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru caused its wheels to flash in different colors.
Photo Mode
  • Most of the new poses introduced in Update 2.3 now work with any gender.
  • Disabled NPC collision, which will make it easier to position NPCs on top of other objects with collision (e.g. on car hoods).
  • Fixed an issue where some of the poses didn't work for Royce.
Quests & Open World
  • Freedom - Fixed the journal entry that appears when the player chooses not to steal the Rayfield Caliburn "Mordred."
  • Motorbreath - Fixed an issue where, after V fails to pursue and stop Semimaru and receives a text from River saying he'll contact V soon, the follow-up message never arrives.
  • Motorbreath - Fixed an issue where the Yaiba Semimaru could flip over during the chase, preventing the player from entering it.
  • Motorbreath - It's no longer possible to trigger the quest if River died during The Hunt.
  • Motorbreath - Players can now acquire the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru through AUTOFIXER even if they failed The Hunt, which normally unlocks the side quest where the vehicle is obtained.
  • Nitro (Youth Energy) - Fixed a game crash that could occur in certain circumstances after leaving the Yaiba showroom event.
  • Nitro (Youth Energy) - Fixed an issue where the proxy interface UI in the Yaiba showroom is cut off when the "Larger HUD Elements" setting is enabled.
Miscellaneous
  • Fixed several localization and lipsync issues in various languages.
  • Added a toggle to disable vignette. It can be found in Settings → Graphics → Basic.
  • Fixed an issue on PC and Mac where Ray-Traced Reflections might not display correctly when enabled under certain conditions.
  • Fixed several issues with displaying text messages from Delamain.
  • Various fixes for fluff vendors.
PC-specific
  • Fixed an issue where NVIDIA Reflex could be disabled while DLSS Frame Generation was enabled, causing the screen to turn pink.
  • Fixed an issue where Path Tracing didn't activate properly in certain scenarios.
Mac-specific
  • Fixed an issue where changing graphics presets on Mac set Screen Space Reflections to a higher setting compared to the equivalent presets on PC.
  • Fixed an issue causing a permanent white screen when Frame Generation is enabled while entering the braindance in The Information.
  • Selecting "Defaults" in Video Settings no longer turns HDR Mode off.
  • Fixed the inverted behavior of the "Mute Game in Background" toggle in Settings.
  • Removed the outdated "(Requires Game Restart)" disclaimer from the mouseover description of the "Disable Spatial Audio" setting.
  • Fixed an issue on the App Store version that caused the game to become stuck on the “Press Space to continue” breaching screen.
  • Various stability and performance optimizations.
Console FOV slider when?

Nooooo, why you changed the auto drive ?! It was so immersive to drive like any other PNJ. Please add the option in settings to change what kind of drive we want 😭

Funny how this update is missing a note about stabilizing Xbox or console performance... oh wait, they never do that..

I cant tell you how continually frustrated I am at the lack of quality control with these patches. Today alone, 12 crashes.

This is something that has never improved since day 1. While the content is absolutely amazing, the sheer level of frustration because of glitches and poor quality control, which obviously has been a problem since day 1, has never been resolved or improved.

In my eyes at least the documentary they did about fixing the issues leading into phantom liberty is undeserved, if each new patch continues to break the game and constantly brings back old glitches and problem.

This has been a revolving door of problem. These patches only seem to temporarily fix a problem, until new stuff is rolled out and then you end up fixing or attempting to fix issues you had two patches ago.

Like we still can not remove weapon mods once they are installed to upgrade. Heck even destroying old mods in the process would be fine, but nope. We used to be able to, but nope not anymore for some unexplained reason. So be careful to only put the best tier mod in or you have to find a new gun... or craft a whole new model. Seriously, its things like this that have been ignored. At least they fixed the glitch where crashes changed your mod item or suppressor to common. But oh wait, that fix messed up somethig else, and on and on. I have never played a game with this many reoccurring issues before.

And lets not forget that random cyberwear capacity upgrades is still random and not a sure thing. Meaning you can have a play through, with a character build pushing tech to 20 and still not get close to the maximum game capacity. Even after finishing every assault and side quest in the game.

Or how craft schematics for the iconic weapons still dont always drop from and NCPD subcon missions.

I would have hoped that after 5 years, platform stability and quality control would be priority number 1.

I personally feel mislead yet again.
Its like a train wreck I cant stop watching. And really makes me question wanting to buy another CDPR game.

The vignette toggle inadvertently disables vignette in photo mode filters also which seems unintentional. Hopefully it can be fixed in a future patch to allow vignette in photo mode even when it is disabled in the actual game.

Yeah, I kinda preferred how much more relaxed auto-drive was in 2.3 compared to 2.31. I appreciate the smoother cornering, but otherwise it feels really aggressive.

I mean isn't the whole point of auto-drive so that the player can sit back and relax? Kinda feels like you have to supervise it and take over at any moment now.

That said, I think it's not tooo bad when cinematic camera is on? That just me?
EDIT: hmm, nvm, I can't see a difference in car behaviour when using cinematic camera; seems just as aggro :/

I tested the new AutoDrive, with several different destinations. It didn't crash into any vehicles. It didn't drive over any pedestrians.

It did drive over a cop, but that's because he dove the wrong way. It randomly crashed into a streetlight, detected a collision, and disabled itself. It tried to ram its way through a very solid metal wall. It randomly stopped for absolutely no reason, several times.

Overall, it was no worse than before.

When? Ps5 Mouse and keyboard support for game. Thanks.
Think for such support you need to be with Sony, not the development team of any game.
Seems there're tools with which you can play console games using a mouse & keyboard. Found this:

"Monster PS5 Keyboard Mouse Adapter – Supports PS5 Remote Play, No Recoil for FPS Games, APP Powered, Compatible with PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, PC"

Wasn't sure such links are allowed on the forums, but if you copy/paste this in your search query, it's bound to pop.

Was the bug where V gets teleported to a random ladder ever fixed? I've had this happen on this patch, and I recall it's an old bug.
