There's also been quite a bit of fuss at the tech section about a grass texture that was too bright; I believe there's a mod over at the nexus that fixes it, but if the issue is universal perhaps the corrected texture could be included in the next patch...

Considering the amount of posts in that topic in the tech section, the complete lack of comments from you guys, and the ease with which this could be fixed, one would almost think that the entire issue has gone unnoticed by CDPR. I hope that THAT's not the case; especially with technical issues user feedback is very important.

EDIT: However, that doesn't mean that I'm not grateful for this patch and the continued efforts are appreciated!

Has anyone's Steam version updated? I seem to be getting the same .Net issue.

Are people really not concerned that the auto-patching system doesn't work? It hasn't worked for me since I first patched the game out of the box :)

Sorry, but I don't care.

I LOVE to have the option to play whatever version of the witcher I want and I can do this 'cos CDPR offers me the option to download the patches one by one and I have a DVD recorder to make backups.

While the auto-patching is somehow broken, I know I have the option to download the patches when I want, if I want and apply them just 'cos I feel like to do it.

I'm sorry for the people that miss that feature(auto-patching), but I'm selfish and the truth is I wish that never happens.

Mine updated, but not automatic. It was showing in the Game Library as "Update required" and when I clicked on that, it updated.

I think most Steam users have always envied non-Steam users for having the option of whether or not to update :)

How can you tell if it updated cause I don't think mine did as I still have the same .net issue, and I'm not the only one still having the issue - http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2707526

Is the update not working at all, or are you reporting that you still have the .Net error?

No, I too sitll had the .Net error. However I found and posted about a fix for it here - http://forums.steamp...=1#post30811390

I can also say at least the new patch fixed the issue where you had to rename a DLL file for Acrobat 9 Pro Extended in order to get Witcher 2 to start. That is no longer the case now - no more renaming. I just changed the file back to the original name just to see and the game works.

Bottom line: Still the .Net issue, but the Adobe file renaming seems to be fixed.Steam version.

What Sygnus and Tarriok said. The Steam version patches to 3.1 just fine however the .NET problem is still there and has not been fixed. Many other people on the Steam forums are reporting the same.

By the way, I don't envy non-Steam users for not having to autopatch at all. Just the opposite. I buy games on Steam BECAUSE of autopatch. I actually bought TW2 from GOG first but the autopatch never worked for me and the manual patches always had problems too so I gave up and bought the Steam version.

Except for this .NET issue that won't seem to go away, the Steam version patches and runs just fine for me.

I think you guys are a true shining example of what gaming should be like, and how developers and the gaming community should interact, thank you for the games and the great support! EA take note....

I have the GOG version of "TW2-EE" & my autopatching didn't work either :(
Had to manually download 5.73 MB & ran it manually.

ME either but I think it's becoz your PC is already updated to the latest dotnet version. So unnecessary.

Yes I keep everything updated REGULARLY  so that might be it! But I applied the patch manually anyway, just now I was playing & noticed maybe 4-6 FPS more on the same settings, i.e., Ultra settings with "ubersampling" disabled! Yippeee

if every company where like you, this could be gamer's haeaven, but it's not. all-time-online drm and all of that stuff are wasting development time and money, and are really annoying. instead you give users and costumers the best! full support, updates, and free-drm version

Really? Releasing bug-ridden games and patching them up over the course of years, having gamers pay full price for what is essentially a beta version of a game that will really only be done after 2-3 years would be heaven to you?
You (and many others here) certainly have a MUCH different idea about what constitutes a good product than I do...
