Finaly, Spotter get nerfed
All nerf are welcome
But, why reckless furry ?
And especially why keep Killing scoia'tel
Second time guerrilla tactic get nerf, now Milva become useless

I have a question (even before this patch) on

Sigi Reuven: Mastermind
Deploy: Look at Collusion and a random unit from each Gang from your deck, then play 1.

Can someone explain me the "Look at Collusion" part?
* I had the "Collusion" card in my Deck, but it doesnt seem to be played?

So what is the deal with that? Thank you!

Really mixed feelings about 10.11.

First of all, no changes to the Aretuza/Regis/Dandellion Journeys? No new trinkets or music for leveling past Level 100. Aretuza still has the same cards from Triss/Yennefer Journey (e.g. Phillipa). So what's the point of gridding past Level 100 on these Journeys? What's the point of buying the Aretuza Journey when half of the cards can be obtained from previously bought Journeys?

In terms of patchnotes, some good changes here and there, but barely any changes! No reworks/buffs to dead archetypes (e.g. Witch Hunters/Bounty), many broken cards are still left untouched.

Geralt: Yrden and Geralt: Igni nerfs are good and warranted. I am afraid to see how greedy decks are going to be this season now that Yrden is nerfed but we have to wait and see.

If Yrden is nerfed because "opppent cannot play around that card", other cards need to follow suit. Affan, for example, allows you to play the Eclipse Scenario and trigger Chapter: 1 on the same round so you cannot Heatwave that Scenario. Why not give Adrenaline to other unskilled cards like Triss: Meteor Shower?

NG
Traheaern var Vdyffir change was kind of unecessary. Spotter/Pikeman change is decent (with former being too strong, latter weak without Tibor).
No nerf to Practictioner and Vilgerfortz, so Tibor spamming is here to stay.
No nerf to Knights outside of Milton. With Yrden nerf, Knights are going to be even more popular.

NR
Revears are practically unchanged, so people will keep spamming them, other NR bronzes will have a hard time competing.

SK

Not sure about Sove change. Feels like a decent nerf, opponent has a chance to play around Sove.
Rework to Patricide feels like you are trying to bring back SK Sihil. Mixed feelings here.
Also didn't address Sigrdrifa's Rite which allows you to replay Sove for another pointslam. Shouldn't this card have a Provision cap at 10 to summon?

ST

Decent buffs to Symbiosis for ST.
GT change is questionable. If you want that leader to not use Milva, reworking the card might have been better.

Monsters

No changes - Seriously?

Syndicate

Barely any changes - Seriously? Where is the rework to Jackpot? Where are the reworks/buffs to Witch Hunters?

Neutrals

Ring of Favor is still not nerfed/reworked. Really easy to win Round 1 or bait Tall punish with the only risk that the card might get discarded when opponent pass early (not going to happen often with everyone overcommiting to win Round 1 every time).
Core problem with Renfri is still not addressed - you commit Leader on Round 1 to win, bleed or pass Round 2, and have final say on Round 3. Renfri then gives you a new Leader which can easily reach 20+ points (e.g. Spawn 2 Strategems (5+5), and boost the lowest Unit to 10).
Triss: Meteor Shower has no condition unlike Yrden and can easily play for a lot of points. No risk playing her as last card anymore due to Yrden nerf too. Why not give her Adrenaline too to be fair?

With barely any changes to dead archetypes, and barely any nerfs on decks like NR Revears and NG Knights, we are going to spend another month of seeing the same 4-5 and decks most of the time.

Everything in this patch is fine but why too much hate against scoia'tel ?
In previous patchs
Simlas got more expensive, but also alissa henson, a brutal kill to elves deck now guérilla tactic has been killed too and previous patch u also reduced the provision bonus
Too much hate against milva
It could be okay if it was only one nerf but all of them Together make scoia'tel underpowered now
It could be understendeble if those archetypes were the most annoying ones last season but it not

Mean u look at collusion first to be sure u can play it from ur deck
If u already played Collusion or if u have it in ur hand it will not work

does this mean in case i have not played it and in case it is not in my hand (so the card is in my deck) that i should see it played?

That resource exchange is certainly something that some have wanted for a very long time. Good to see it's been added, even though I personally have no use for it.
Perhaps, though rates are terrible and new players - if they have access to it - could try using this wasting their resources.

This tool might be good for players with ALL Reward trees uncovered. I don't see a point, why anyone else would use it, since every exchange makes double or triple loss for what you would get in said Reward tress.

Will there be any game modes / seasonal games? Joined Gwent just last month and had loads of fun with the ever changing game-modes like double down, or the bomb one with the 8 sec time.
Seasonal Modes:

Bearly Balanced
08.11 - 15.11

Your deck is replaced with 16 Elder Bears with different power. Leader abilities are disabled.

Order in all things 15.11 - 22.11

At the start of the match, sort players' deck from highest to lowest provision.

Our battle will be Legendary! 22.11 - 29.11

Players' decks are replaced with a deck made of all the legendaries from their factions.

Double Down 29.11 - 06.12

Whenever you play a unit from your hand, play a unit with the same Provision Cost from your deck. Your starting deck is doubled in size at the start of the match.

I havent played it myself but seen others using it in videos.

From my understanding, you play Sigi and it shows you 7 cards in deck - one random from each gang and Collusion.
You dont even need to include Collusion in deck, the meta deck doesnt but now, after rework it might be wiser to do so.

You get to play one of those choices for free, or two if you pay the tribute.

I am one of the most "ancient" Gwent players out there and i lost use for scraps, kegs and ore WAY before i did for reward points.

I dont know how newer players are already finishing up all reward trees but still need ore or scraps, but to me RP is more valuable than those and this option is f***ing useless unless it let me convert ore/scraps into powder (although i have a full premium collection too)

Exactly! I have never seen this much hate on a card from a developer in all my Gwent experience. They just want to beat that card to death and when people still manage to make it work, they just keep beating it to death. If they hate this card this much, why not just rework the bloody card and leave GT alone? How can she ever be played with such a pathetic reach? At least we can try Symbiosis.
But wait, you ST complainer!! They gave her a 1 hp buff!! So now it's an 11p card with 3 body that does 1 damage and thins itself out of the deck... :D :D

anyone who wants to spend less time collects ornaments from premium journey, you may check the contracts first.

several contracts can be done simultaneously e.g. equip Aretuza Coin and Music while using Dandelion or Regis Card back and use Regis or Dandelion model equip with Yellow Lantern or Shovel Guitar.

Geralt Yrden is kind of useless now. You should change the image to "Geralt on crutches". :disapprove:
It was a card to address those decks which went over the top.

I don't like the Yrden [and] Igni nerfs. There are too many greedy decks out there, this [will] only get worse now.
It is my hope that without Yrden to give the appearance of balance to OP cards, developers will be forced to address the excessively greedy cards that plague the game. If this can be done, Gwent will be in a much better state than it has been recently.

Reminder to every (reasonable) player throwing a party after the control tools nerfs, that these are a symptom and not the cause of the state of the game. This is why doctors warn not to stop the medicine a day after you feel better, the little buggers got suppressed but are still there and now they get a chance to thrive once again :)

It is unlikely to bring more strategical game-play, interesting match-ups, or deck variety until the whole landscape gets addressed and re-calibrated at the same time.

Ivar and friends will still win a round with 40+ point swing, NR knights with big sword will drop 40+ points in a few cards without counter-play... Reavers will just replace a gold card with whatever fits, as the deck "strategy" remains unchanged, NG Triss is now safe even without last say, and 600 points cultist will surely stop by to say "hi" more often...

And since none of the accumulating issues over the past 6 months seem to have changed.... let us welcome back all the cheese piles and answer or might-as-well-forfeit cards that were held in check last month.

Hope i'm wrong, so we don't have to play another month of the "queue up against a favorable match up and draw better than your opponent or auto-lose" card game :)
While i never really was a huge fan of Yrden's Design after the switch to two rows (with 3 rows you had more options to play around it) with their current way of "balancing" things and adding more and more overturned Cards with each Drop it kinda became a necessary Evil to keep the Meta in check .

If we had a somewhat healthy balanced Game i would be totally fine with Yrden's rework because in that Case the "get outta Jail free Card" wouldn't be really necessary anymore but since the Leader Card Drop, Tunnel Drill and Jackpot rework last year we're heading balance wise in a worrying direction with an insane power creep.

As a for a Yrden rework i probably would had preferred if they went for a suggestion i made a few years ago "Deploy: Reset all Units on this and the opposite Row" to at least remove it from greedy Decks and also give an option to play around it with putting boosted Units on the opposite Row of the opponents boosted Units.

I really like this suggestion — give the card a condition that requires skill to optimize while still addressing excessive greed.

Talking about the Resource Exchange.

Normally players would get 30MP for 1 RP in reward book but MP node is rare. The new Resource Exchange allows any veteran players who have 1000+ RP can convert those RP to MP.

I want to do some math here. -- 4RP = 1 Ultimate Keg which 1 keg is equivalent to 30MP in general due to veteran players should have all bronze premium cards already.

Next, what if I open 20 kegs (spending 80RP)? The ratio for Epic is 1 for every 5 kegs and Legendary is 1 for every 20 kegs:

- 1 keg I got legendary instead of rare -- 210mp.
- next 3 kegs of 20 are Epic keg -- epics is 50 mp and 1 common (10mp) total 60 x 3 = 180mp (if get 4 epics also additional 60MP here)
- then the rest 16 kegs are just rare kegs = 16 x 30 = 480mp

MP in total = 210 + 180 + 480 = 870mp while directly exchange is 1rp for 10mp, 80RP = 800mp.

Moreover, players also have chance to get the premium card he wants. I think spend RP for kegs is better than MP almost 5-10% here.

(Feel free to let me know if my calculation is incorrect)
nice count.

Also you can have luck and get a legendary you dont have yet, so with only that legendary you already get 800 mp.

Well, in other hand, you can do the same as i do, just go to dreft, spend 3 rps in a redraft, quit, get the keg and some other stuff (mp, ore or scraps)

When new cards were released i wrote: "sigi and sove hotfixed in 1 week".
Well, i was almost right :coolstory:

Next month meta will be basically the same + some super binary decks, because the real broken cards are left untouched.
Just a quick opinion:

Igni: fine
Yrden: braindead and binary card, so i guess it's fine. Important change though, because now cheese decks can potentially shine ( plus designers can't recognise blatantly op cards, which is dangerous ).

Scoiatel: bad changes to harmony. The faction doesn't need more points, but a way to prevent overswarming. They, instead, printed frog mating season which counters the deck it should be played in ( hilarious ). I don't like guerrilla tactics nerf, just change Milva instead of killing an hero power. Imho.

Skellige: the new hero power is good, because provides utility and flexibility with no rng. The nerf to reckless flurry is pointless. Just rework it if you don't like the effect, now it's almost dead. Sove nerfed? Really? I thought it was balanced

Monsters: binary and brainless faction. They don't create interesting and skillbased cards, just pointslam. So i couldn't care less.

Northern Realms: hunters and scout will still be autoinclude in that archetype. Just too strong. Kennet playable? We will see.

Nilfgaard: hero power nerf is wrong, there are tons of op cards and all of them were basically ignored. Just to name a few, Renfri? Triss? Ivar/Guillame boost package?
Nerfing spotter was obvious, but it's not good behaviour. They shouldn't print a 12 points/5 armor at 5 prov in the first place. Traheaern is a joke highroll rng concept, and this "nerf" ( i dont' even know how to call it ) is made just to fill a row of words.
Cultists can be a problem, so be prepared.

Syndacate: sigi nerf called as soon as i saw the card, very predictable. Imagine releasing one of the most broken cards in the game and be surprised to nerf if because people realised how to combo it properly with drill. Bah.
