Though to post my work around for PC photo mode CRASHING on most screen captures. I find that if i want to make 100% sure i capture the shot., what i need to do is HIT the Windows Key while hitting Shift key and the S key all at the same-time to grab the shot. Then i past into photo software to save image.
This happens with me using 4K 3840 x 2160 not sure about other setting like 1920 or 1440. After i have captured the image, i do try the in game save. That's when i crossing fingers and hope for a win. If it crashes i send the report to CD Projekt Red and reload the game.
FYI patched Nvidia drivers with the fix on path tracing. I mean crash tracing
