Just as Talon reaches the corner a bullet pings off his left cyberleg, thank Stalin for Soviet engineering! The hit throws him off balance for a second and he misses a step or two but the leg is still functioning and he can worry about the dent later.
Rounding the corner he sees the available cover within 50m consists of a couple cars (neither armored), a concrete planter with a long dead ornamental tree, or a doorway inset into the side of a building. Which will he choose?
As the old saying goes - You'd be surprised how much of your body you can hide behind a single blade of grass when you're being shot at.
Talon dives for cover behind the planter and even before he's fully settled a series of loud BOOMS and multiple flashes of light erupt from the corner he just turned. Someone apparently set off a number of Flash-Bangs simultaneously. Talon, while not deafened or blinded is still pretty shaken up by the barrage of noise and light.
Hernando and Shed are almost at the NCART when series of bangs and light flashes erupts behind them. They're far enough away it doesn't effect them but it no doubt woke up everyone in this section of Night City! Everyone and their brother is going to be flooding into the streets (or looking for a hole to crawl into) to see WTF is going on. Expect Night Cities "finest" (the cops) to show en-mass as well soon.
Arriving at the NCART ... no taxi ... no train. There's a Kombat Kab call box you can order one from, or you can wait for the next train (7 minutes) or you can do something else.
Talon meanwhile is hoofing it as fast as his Sov legs will let him, the left leg (the one hit by the bullet) seems OK, for now. Heading to the NCART or elsewhere Talon?
Talon had initially planed to run west past the NCART station once he was able to create some distance, but with the explosion that went off he decides to head towards the NCART station and get an idea of how many (if any) gangers might still be in pursuit. If needed he can always change course and keep running. At least that's his thought process.
