As Talon is making his way from the NCART (i.e. light rail/subway) toward the building where they spent last night doing observation he's intercepted by four gangers. He's pretty sure they're "Wild Things" (( Given the area he's in and his Streetwise 2. )), not good, an invitation only dorpher gang. This is the edge of their turf so things could escalate quickly and dramatically.

Three approach him and one hangs back a bit; lookout or just less interested then the others? "Yo bro," says the closest, "on yer way ta tha Arcade?"

Talon stops and regards the trio. Putting on a fake smile he responds, "Yah, bro. That matter to you?"

"Not ta me, but might be wise ta hire a little security on yer way there, never know what might happen ..."

Biting back a number of rude and confrontational comment, Talon fights off his intense hatred of gangers and tries to avoid a confrontation. He believes avoiding a conflict with a local gang on the eve of their task is certainly for the best, "Oh yeah. Know anyone competent in the area?"

The ganger Talon is speaking to looks a bit pissed, one them next to him chuckles a bit.

"Tha price jus' went up, got anything else smart ta say?"

 

[Durzo_Steelfin]

"Oof. No sense of humor I guess. Look, Vulture, there's no reason to get upset. Ya haven't even given me a quote for your legendary services. Nor a reason why I need em."

 

[Suhiira]

"Was 50 Eddies, fer you it's 100, cause ya really need protection." With that he cracks his knuckles, and the 3rd one (that didn't chuckle) pulls out a butterfly knife and puts on a bit of a show before he starts cleaning his nails. Number 4, the one hanging back 'casually' opens her (probably armored) coat and Talon sees a light SMG.

((i'm assuming we are arriving separately ? , do we happen by chance on talon's encounter?, can we interject or are we allowed to, if talon wants help of course?))

(( No reason to think you all live in the same neighborhood. For that matter no reason to think anyone knows where the others live [except Gremlin, since you met at his place] so no reason, other then sheer chance, you'd be on the same train. The next train will be by in about 15 minutes ))

*How far away are the 3 gangers I'm speaking with and how far away is the 1 in the back with the smg? And how far is the nearest corner that Talon could disappear behind?

Still confident in his own abilities Talon finds it slightly amusing that these gangers are trying to threaten him with fists and knives. Rodik tries to delay the conversation a moment longer to analyze his surroundings, possible escape routes, as well as distances to the only actual threat he sees, the ganger in the back with the smg- he could probably draw faster than the ganger could dream to, but he would prefer to get out of this without gunfire.

"100 eddies just to get to the arcade seems a bit high doesn't it? How about 60?"

(( The closest three are all within 3m in a loose triangle, the "boss" is pretty much in Talons face (1m). #4 is about 5m back, be pretty hard to miss with an SMG at that range, but of course she'll probably hit her buddies too. Talon is nearly mid-block, so about 25ish meters to any corners. There is street furniture and doorways, not great cover but better then nothing. The biggest problem is this is the edge of Wild Things turf, and there are other people on the street, some may be other gang members, tho probably not. But 'word' will spread FAST if there's trouble and the rest of the gang will decend like a pack of hyenas. They ARE a dorpher gang, one with a rep for being VERY dangerous. This will probably jeopardize your operation as you're operating not far from where you are now. ))

I figured that would be the case. If Rodik wasn't on a job then Talon would have certainly escalated at this point, or tried to run, but given the circumstances and the intended op, he'll be the professional. If the op goes well, he'll come out ahead anyway.

Frustrated, Rodik sighs deeply, before raising his hands up to chest height, palms forward, gesturing, "Alright, alright. I don't got any of the fun stuff you'd like, but I got some scratch for ya, right. Ready? Set you up well enough for protection."

Talon triggers his speedware with the "Ready.Set." vocalization during his response, hoping to avoid conflict, but preparing for the possible attack from gangers he has no respect for. He reaches into his jacket for 100 eddies and holds it out limply.

The ganger takes Talons' money. "On yer way then, anyone else stops ya tell em 'Metfro' an they'll let ya be."
(( What? You actually expected them to waste their valuable time actually escorting you??? ))
(( We'll assume Talon make his way to the building you conducted surveillance from yesterday to await the others. ))

Next to arrive in the area is Shed and Gremlin, who just so happen to have arrived on the same train.
Up ahead you see four gangers, probably Wild Things, moving to intercept.
Gremlin just sighs.

jerome grits his teeth at the sight of the 4gangers heading their way and curses then leans over to gremlin speaking quietly but with a bit of an edge and a sneer "is trouble yes?" nodding at the gangers, "how want deal?" while jerome would like to cap any ganger he sees, he's going for a job and sidetracking wont do in this case. he also defers to gremlin since he is still pretty new to the states and is still learning about his new city

"Let's see wut they want, probably just a shakedown." Gremlin replies.

Again three approach and one hangs back.
"Headin fer tha Arcade?" Asks the leader.

"Yep," Gremlin responds. "gotta fix one a tha machines." Gremlin points to his tool kit and rattles his backpack.

The leader looks a bit perplexed. "Wut'cha mean, they got their own Tech."

"Yeah, but they ain't got tha parts, pretty exotic VR rig.

"Hummm ... well since yer here on business jus' be on yer way. Anyone asks tell em 'Metfro'."

And with that the gangers let you pass.

jerome lets out a breath he didnt even notice he was holding, "good game, stahrik, you know how do this..." gesturing at the departing gangers then adds with a smile "i not play cards with you" , he falls in with gremlin keeping a wry eye out.

"Ever'budy needs their shit fixed, an everybody needs a medic now-n-then. Never pays ta piss off either."

(( And Hernando arrives on the next train by himself. ))

Much to his surprise no one pays any particular attention to Hernando.

The four of you meet up at the building you used last time as a command post.

"How ya'll wanna do this?" Asks Gremlin. "Be best if I, er someone, stayed 'ere an monitored the cams 'n com, but if'n ya think ya need me inside ..." He shrugs.
