Hernando will start binding three ropes to any solid place to be used in the descent.
(( Nope, totally true, BUT it requires VERY precise measurements in terms of the diameter and depth of the cone the explosives are shaped around, and that's WAY beyond your skill level. Best you can do is "tamp" the explosives by putting something heavy on top of them to direct more of the force downwards else all you get is an explosion atop the floor and all the energy goes up and sideways rather then down into the floor. It's never as easy as Hollywood makes it seem is it? ))((is shaping the charge so that the force of the explosion will be direct downwards a thing or just a hollywood shtik?))

(( ANYTHING I tell you here is something Jerome knows. I'm intentionally leaving out some "minor details" he doesn't. While I'm certainly no RL expert at the stuff I know the basics and have blown a few things up. ))((having some knowledge in explosives would jerome be privy to that information? [trying to separate meta knowledge]))
(( Possible, but probably MUCH easier to just buy a new set. ))((will he be able to repair talon's climbing spikes?))
Hernando finds an old mattress in the corner, it'll help (( won't muffle the explosion tho )) and you can pile heavy stuff atop it. As to heavy stuff ... a couple cartons of liquid cleaning solution, maybe the AutoVacc? The furniture in the stairwell lobby would help ...Hernando will look (maybe something outside?)
