PC 1.04/1.05: Floating NPCs, NPCs Clipping Through Ground, Frozen AI

Since PC 1.04, I've been encountering:

  • NPCs that move and engage in combat a few feet from the ground, usually above Geralt, which makes them almost impossible to hit and kill (they don't change altitude; it's like, for them, the ground plane has been shifted upward);
  • NPCs that have spawned below the ground plane or clipped through the world boundaries, which makes them impossible to see or kill (they just exist on the minimap and I can hear them);
  • Drowner NPCs that just stand in place while I attack them; and
  • Drowner NPCs that repeat their surfacing from water animation over and over until I kill them.
I had hoped PC 1.05 would have fixed these issues, but I guess not. I'll be rolling back to 1.03 in the meantime.

These issues may impact other NPCs beyond what I've found in White Orchard.

In addition, I report npcs in villages spawning in groups of 2-3 overlapping characters in the same point, one Into the other until you collide with them.

PC: In Novigrad there are a few people carrying crates in their hands. They all are walking with floating feets. Like they have to walk over some big rock or else, but there is only air. Looks very strange. And no, I have never touched the INI files...

In White Orchard, I experienced the floating and clipping issues with primarily Wolves and Graveirs. It's particularly obvious with them because you'd run into a pack, and some wolves/graveirs would be underground, others would be floating, and the rest would be on the ground as they all should be.
