PC Build

So Wild Hunt has become somewhat of a benchmark for the current time. This is good news for me, as I plan on building a new PC soon and will be playing a lot of Wild Hunt on it.

I'd like to ask everyone on this forum what GPU and CPU they have and what kind of performance they are getting while playing Wild Hunt.

My first build, which I sold a few months ago, contained:

- i5-4460
- EVGA GeForce GTX 660Ti FTW+
- H97 Anniversary Motherboard
- 8GB Crucial Ballistix RAM
- (1) 500GB Toshiba HDD
- Windows 10
- Corsair CX500M PSU

How do you expect the above build to perform while playing Wild Hunt? I'd expect a solid 30FPS at 1080p on higher settings, but not max.

However, I want to squash 30FPS and 60FPS with my new build when playing this game at 1080p. My goal is 1080p, 90FPS (average), not dropping a single frame below 60 at any time, on ultra settings. In order to accomplish this goal, I believe I may need a 1070, but I am not sure. I'm not sure about CPU, either, but I do know that I will need something more powerful than a 4460. That CPU could not keep pace with Hearts of Iron IV when last I played it, so I was thinking a 7500 may be a good bet, or maybe a 7600.

End note: I don't want a 1080 and I don't want to spend more than around $250 on a CPU. AMD GPU recommendations are welcome.

I also built a gaming PC specifically for the witcher 3 and I highly recommend you to get the following:
cpu: skylake i5 (6400, 6500, 6600 or 6600k and a z170 motherboard if you want to overclock) - any of those will do.
gpu: for 1080p resolution get the nvidia 1060 gtx - that's what I use - I play the witcher 3 on max settings and 1440p resolution (no hairworks) at a minimum of 40 fps so you can expect a minimum of 60 at 1080p
ram: you're good - 8GB is all you need
ssd: do yourself a huge favor and get one!
motherboard: get a h170/z170 motherboard for the skylake cpu

I've been watching some videos of Wild Hunt being played on the 1060 and I'm not sure that I want that low of performance. Cyberpunk will be even more demanding, there's no doubt about that. I don't think a 1060 will be enough to futureproof me for the next few years at 1080p/60fps.
