If there is some Canadians or Quebecers in the forum, i would like to know if there is a good pc configurator with low prices. It would be cool to not have to buy one from a American site like Cyberpower and have to pay taxes.

yea just look who you are buying from. I'm using eBay for 6 years now. check sellers feedbacks and how many sales they did if its 100% with many hardware sales that means its legit.

research which parts you need and compare prices and see how much you can save.

EBay also has new computer parts and yes always check the reputation of the seller first .

Not up to date on hardware prices any more since I haven't bought anything in a while, but how about http://www.newegg.ca/ ?

The cheapest is usually to buy the parts yourelf and assemble it yourself. That way you get exactly what you want, and usually cheaper than the fully set up rigs.

With eBay, you are taking on sole responsibility for knowing exactly what you need and whether or not the items offered are in fact what you need. It's too easy, for example, to end up with buffered memory and a motherboard that requires unbuffered. You are likely to have no useful recourse against a seller who sells you incompatible, not-as-advertised, or deteriorated components.

If you are at all uncertain about your ability to select compatible components and get everything right the first time, eBay will be a waste of your time and money.
