Hi.

Win8.1 х64, i5-2500k, GTX970

8Gb RAM, swap disabled - periodically get an error about insufficient memory.

8Gb RAM, swap enabled - game works perfectly.

Add +8Gb RAM, memtest+ pass successfully (in sum, we obtain - 16Gb RAM) - game crashes every 5-15 minutes regardless of swap enabled or disabled

Removed 8Gb RAM (in sum, we obtain - again 8Gb RAM), swap enabled - game works perfectly again.

Memtest+ is useless at gauging memory stability. If you're adding memory and getting issues, the memory isn't stable. Use HCI Memtest pro and open an instance for every thread and allocate 85-90% of memory so the OS can breathe. Minimum of 200-400% coverage.

I mean no disrespect but posts like this just add unnecessary fuel to the fire. It's difficult enough as it is to rectify every ones problems.

Yes, you're right!

Just did a test like you said - memory errors there (when installed 16 Gb of RAM)!

Thanks for the info.
And I apologize for my foolishness.

All a learning experience my friend!

Is there any response from CDProjectRed about this code and what it means? It may be a generic message for multiple anomaly. I only receive game crashes and this error code occasionally on NVIDIA driver 353.06.

So, the answer I got from CD Projekt Red's Support was this:

please install MSI afterburner software and set:

Power limit to 110%

and Core Clock to -20 Hz

And, yeah, I would totally like to try this one out, but unfortunatly I can't increase the "Power Limit" bar in my MSI Afterburner. Could someone please help meee? :')

I guess I'll give this a try. I've been running Power Limit at 110% already but with a factory overclock on my MSI GTX970 Gaming 100ME.

Okay, so I tried increasing my power limit to 110% and reducing my core clock -20. I played for about 45 minutes and the game crashed to a black screen with sound and then crashed to the desktop. I restarted the game and played for an additional 2 to 3 hours with no crashes.

I was getting this error a few days ago, couldn't play the game for more than 20 minutes without either that or some other crash. Tried probably everything mentioned in this thread to no avail.

Did a clean install of Windows 8.1 (was on W7) and I've not had a problem since, just played for 4 hours straight without a hiccup. Probably not the answer anyone wants to hear but it was worth it, now I can actually play the fricking game!

sorry, didn´t saw, that there was a lot of posting at the other pages.
point seems to be, that when the game was made, that most computer didn´t had 16 gb ram. and now a lot of people have it, and the game can´t handle it. in some other games similar problems were coming up and they always had to find some manual changing in the system itself. I only have 8 gb and i never had any problems. Thank god.
Lets just hope, that either nvidea or cd project will find some solution soon.

all of a sudden getting same problem.

Crash reason: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (3221225477), Error reading location 0xf2cc0038

definitely a disk or memory read problem. looks like renderer can't locate files.
was running fine through to the lastest 1.8.? and already a few hours into New Game+.

had just wiped the drive it was on and created a striped array with 2 SSDs and reinstalled Wild Hunt prior to this happening. first few runs got to the menu but won't even load splash screen now. just playing Dying Light from same drive waiting for the Wild Hunt reinstall to finish. everything else on there runs great.

amount of RAM doesn't have anything to do with it. it was only a couple-few months ago, most people still have the same amounts they had then so it wouldn't be causing this very common problem.

i have heard some recommending to lower memory speeds 10-20%. seems the new patch doesn't play nice with any kind of OC, even those stock OC cards. power is always +10% here.

---------- Updated at 09:20 AM ----------

uninstalled. deleted everything but save folder, ran CCleaner in case. reinstalled base, patched to 1.08.2?, & installed DLC 1-16. now it runs fine again, starting at NewGame+ save point like before.

glitch in one of the install packages earlier today? wouldn't explain the large amount of people experiencing this, but ??.
