Again, CDP fans should happily hop up and down, knowing that it will have the chance to gain more money, and thus surviving long to make more awesome games like TW.
Yeah I am sure some of the Crytek fans felt the same way. Until they actually installed an played Crysis 2 an realized they had been sold out. A focus on console development is almost never a good thing if your a PC gamer. Good for the Publishers wallets mainly.I want CDP to make money. I just don't want the quality of the game or future Witcher titles to be compromised by multiplatform development.
And what tells you that it will be a failure?Have you asked to your Nehalenia mirror, or consulted the glass sphere? LOL :D

What does it say about me when I say that I always enjoyed PoP games? Which were kind of console optimized, way before there were consoles? Yes, they are no challenge, they are not immersive or anywhere near a halfway decent RPG, but they're easy fun to tide you over dry spells. :)Too bad Ubi$oft alienated pc players ad infinitum, now. EVIL.CDPR would have to do A LOT worse to get THERE. ;)

A post was made earlier by myself.. It would be a TRUE fact when PC sales is like 1million copies and Consoles 9million copies. What makes and gives CDPR any motivation to make ANY PC games for what is worth?

Well, considering even TW1 sold almost 2 million copies with almost no advertising I'm sure TW2 will do much better. TW2 is much more advertised and people are more aware of it. I believe the sales from PC will be quite significant. Not something that CDPR would say "well, we didn't do enough PC sales to make it worth creating more PC games... I guess we're stuck making console games". I just don't see this happening. And, as people have pointed out earlier, even if they sell a larger number of console copies they still make more for each PC version sold due to not paying royalties for the PC version. So even if it sold twice as many copies on consoles it wouldn't be a deterrant from making PC version (since the profits from each would be about the same).

I think the game will sell as much copies as the witcher 1 in the first 2 weeks. 1.7 million copies is a lot, considering Mass Effect 2 sold about 2 million (correct me if I'm wrong) on three platforms.

Mass Effect 2 sold 7million copies on all platform if not mistaken. I replayed ME2 and honestly the world is quite small and it's apparent of the dated engine. What makes it a great game probably of the unique storyline and the characters.

I yhink the seven million copies were for both Mass Effect 1 and 2 combined. The Witcher 2 is coming out in a great time-just after the extremely disappointing Dragon Age 2 and before the very popular Skyrim. I will be very happy if the game sells 5 million copies in the first month, and I think this is a realistic prospect. Unlike shooters, RPGs sales stay steady for a long time.

I followed Crysis 2's development and it was pretty clear from early on that console was their priority. I don't think it's relevant to draw parallels between that game and TW2.

so true. after they shafted me on PoP '08 by withholding the bleeping END OF THE GAME i started boycotting their products.it's been easy to do so far.

Honestly the 'PC exclusive' really pissed me off though. They should never, ever falsely advertise as 'PC exclusive' when it is not meant to be. From the looks of the game, the combat, radial menu, controller support, 16:9 aspect ratio, it is clearly a title that was been planned as a multi-platform game. But advertising 'PC exclusive' was really a bad move.
I agree on this hehe made with consoles in mind blew itI will buy TW2 anyway just to support CDPR because i love their first game , of course i will not buy anything more from them if they go multiplatform, once a developer is touched by consoles everything starts going down fast , you can take bethesda & bioware examples.

Once I heard about Ubi's DRM for AC2, I pretty much started pretending the game doesn't exist.
Bravo!Yeah, I'm almost ashamed to admit that I own PoP The Forgotten Sands, though I promised myself not to buy it. Well I DIDN'T buy it. It was included with my graphic card. And what did I find out that the game had in common with most of those heavily "protected" games? Not worth the price, because a full price game is something else entirely. Plus, they didn't even manage to this day to patch out their embarrassing savegame glitch, where you can shut yourself out of the game for good if you die at an unfortunate place. I guess they needed the money for the development of their idiotic DRM instead for making a good game. And the "no, pc gamers don't get to finish PoP 2008, that's console exclusive" was a total jerk move. They deserve to go down. Hard.

If CD Project Red goes multi-platform and essentially start to dumb down their games too then they can count me out too. I bought the collector's edition just to support these guys and a big reason for my decision was the whole PC exclusive thingy. Now don't get me wrong I don't really care if they do release the game on consoles later but I DO care if they start to dumb down their games to make them appeal to mindless button-mashing console kids. Dragon Age 2 anyone??? What a fiasko that was.If anyone from CD Project Red is reading this, please PLEASE don't go the multi-platform development way. Don't start making your games stupid to appeal to more casual gamers. Not every game has to be Call of Duty...
