Thanks, Cipher-Six - that was what I thought was the background. So based on this, there may not be any technical reason why savegames can't be imported on the new consoles. I think we really need to wait and see what CDPR say before making the assumption that it won't be possible.

I've been wondering about this since that first announcement that they were "looking into it". If the only solution was for users to enter their previous decisions on a screen, then they could just have said that this is what would happen. To me, the announcement implied that a real import was a possibility, they just weren't sure yet.

PS4 is known to be able to read FAT32-formatted USB flash, and there are designed methods for saving and transferring save files, so there should not be any barrier at all to importing saves.

Xbone has the ability to read NTFS-formatted USB flash, but the purposes for which it will read such media are very limited: only for troubleshooting Xbones that can't download a system update. Xbone explicitly does not support any kind of user USB storage. There may still be a heavy barrier to importing saves.

One alternative for transferring xbox 360 TW2 saves into Xbox One TW3 is through the Xbox cloud storage system. You can upload save files to Xbox's cloud storage from the 360, however, I don't own an XB1 so I don't know if you can access those files from an XB1. Still, it seems like there would be at least one way, though it would be limited to people who have internet access.

Well, I doubt CDPR will get into all these technical troubles with actually using our PC or 360 save files. If it is done, they will keep it stupid simple - probably a comic or a check-list, and no need to worry with PC transfers to XBOX, PC transfers to ps4, 360 transfers to XBOX and 360 transfers to ps4.

How did people copy their hacked save files for Dark Souls on the X360 then? IS Xbone different in that regard?

Xbone is indeed different. You could copy files to or from a 360 using a USB stick. The 360 would accept FAT32 formatted sticks of 1 to 32 GB.

The Xbone supports only cloud transfers; USB is used only for Microsoft proprietary accessories and the OSUDT (Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool).

Get PS4 version on Bluray finish the game 2-3 times wait for DLC and when you get bored with it year later you can sell it or give it to your friend.

I am myself very much torn between ps4 and buying gaming-pc from W3. I know my current MSI laptop cannot handle the upcoming game thats for sure.

The idea of truly entering ultimate pc gaming is tempting, but I dont know squat about picking truly decent pc for 1000 euros or seacrhing for one.
Little helping hand from PC master race to dirty console peasant?:troll:

edit: Removed the pic. It is kinda cheap joke anyway I quess

For newbies I guess this would be a nice start --> http://www.logicalincrements.com/

Also please refrain from using that image, would be nice if you could remove it yourself otherwise someone might bring out their drums about it and create some drama.

Surprising, an excellent PC on that site goes for 751€ in Germany and the PS4 costs 495€+20€ shipping on amazon.de, meaning there is just a 200€ difference. I would have thought it would be more. and when you are considering, it is rather compared to a medium-high PC the difference is really not that much. But I guess, they have to pay for their parts as well...

If you already have high end PC then you don't want any other version. But if your PC is not so good get PS4 port and relax on the sofa.

I want PS4 but not before MGS Phantom Pain or Witcher 3. PSN+ is very good service but its a dedication which I dont have time for. Every month free games for a month. Sometimes I can't just sit down and waste time on games.

PC all the way for me, I dont have much interest on Sony exclusive games. To me, mods, 60 fps, customization is much more important. Also pc witcher 3 has no DRM

I'm surprised most people are advising to get a PS4 over a PC.

Yes, a PC is expensive, but you can't compare PS4 rendering and a good PC rendering, it's lightyears away. Basically, if you're ok to play medium settings, go for PS4, if you're not, don't.

Someone supposedly leaked Witcher 3 perfs on PS4 and XBOX one, it's not bad, not great either.

NB: it may be BS but it's probably a good approximation

Personally I can't play with 30 FPS but it's up to you. Wait for official announcement anyway.

A 600-700€ pc could do waaaaaay better

I also found out that 900p looks even better then some so called native 1080p games. So my switch from xbox360 to PS4 will be grand.
On that note, I believe cdpr knows what will look best for this game on PS4. Since 900p might look better for this game,
then just tell the public it's 1080p and keep it at 900p. That is a little white lie that I think most of us could live with.
But on the other hand for the sake of being honest. Just tell the public that it is 900p & Not 1080p because it looks better for reason we may never ever understand.

The problem is more about the 30 fps than 900p.

900p looks better than native 1080p? Its just not possible.
Either a resolution is native or upscaled (or downscaled, but that doesn't happen often). You can't tell people it's native 1080p and actually it's 900p upscaled to 1080p. It's false advertising.

My reasoning for PC:
A "normal" prized PC has the same capabilities as the PS4.
In the months to come cheap PCs will outclass ANY console by far (just look at the last generation).
Since most developers only make games with consoles in mind you can use your "cheap" PC setup to play games for months to come
at a much higher quality than the consoles can. It was true for last generation and will be true for the next generation.
Only thing that could work against it is the tendency of hardware manufacturers to WITHHOLD advancements in PC because of their close dealings with console manufacturers (amd and nvidia are both to blame sometime).
So the choice for me is easy: My PC can play TW2 in high settings, it will be perfectly capable to play TW3, maybe on lower settings.
In a few months time currenct GPUs that outclass current consoles will be dirt cheap and I will pick one up for a 100 euro/dollar whatever.
I will not have to cope with a console manufacturer's UI, console game prizes (shudder) and I do not want to support exclusives so I rather miss out on a few games on principle.
Also, MODs

It will look better on (middle to high end) PCs -of course-...so if you can afford it get the best version. Otherwise get it on PS4 -it'll still be a good looking game, no doubt.

if you want power and i mean real hardware power a pc will always win, but it depends on the money, a PS4 is probably cheaper, but a pc is always next gen
