PC Rig Help?

PC Rig Help?

I am not sure if this is the perfect place to put this..and I am kinda ashamed that my first thread here is a cry for help, but I really need help lol. Mods, please put this thread anywhere you think it would better fit!

I just built my first PC rig, and once I was basically done I hooked it up to an HDMI cable to my monitor and connected the Corsair CX750 power supply to an outlet.

However, when I pressed the power on button, nothing happened.

I tried taking out all the plugs from the power supply that go into the Gigabyte
GA-Z87-DS3H motherboard and re plugging them in. Then I did the paper clip test to see if the power supply worked. It did. But, when I re plugged the 24 socket plug back into the motherboard and pressed the power button, nothing happened again.

Does anyone have any ideas on what to do? Does it mean that my motherboard is fried?

Is that the cord that connects the case to the Mobo? In the tutorial it never said to worry about that.^

^Didnt have any parts that go in there..there is a power on/off charge slot in the motherboard that I don't have anything in, if you can see it. Is that the issue?

Here is also a link of a support thread I had opened just in case your questions have already been answered by me..I am too lazy to paste everything here!

Can't open your images, don't know if it's because of links, my browser or I'm just too drunk (don't ask).

First advice clear your head, pull every cable from your hardware.
Take a minute to relax maybe even a sip of your favorite drink, replug everything and see if it works.

Also re-read the main-board manual to double check if the power button is connected to the right place on the main-board. (really those tiny pins can confuse all of us sometimes.)

The images don't seem to be visible by copying the link into another tab and then trying to display either. Maybe worth trying a different hosting site, such as imgur?

The last PC I built gave me a scare like yours. All connected, absolutely certain the power and reset buttons were wired correctly, power supply switch was on, hit the power button, nothing. Reseated all the power and front panel connectors, made sure the EPS and GPU auxiliary connectors were in, nothing. Shorted the power good signal to ground, power supply was good. Made sure the BIOS revision was correct for the CPU: it was. Took out the discrete GPU and RAM, nothing. Put the RAM back one stick at a time, nothing.

Left it alone and went to have a cup of coffee and do the crossword puzzle of the day. Came back, and it's powered up, sitting in UEFI, waiting to be configured.

Lesson learned: With a UEFI motherboard, don't panic if it looks like it didn't power up immediately. They can take a long time on first POST to self-configure. During this time, they may look dead. Give it 10 minutes or so to eliminate this possibility before getting too deep into troubleshooting.

So you are saying to turn on the power on the power supply and wait a bit?

The fan could come on like in ten minutes? lol

Hey guys! I fixed everything, now it turn on but there is no signal to TV from HDMI cord.

I wonder if I need to hook it up to a PC monitor first and then download all the drivers for the video card and whatnot before connecting it to a tv screen.

Or just do what this guy says: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-pictures/no-signal-on-tv-when-connected-pc-to-it-using-hdmi/2168c897-a7bd-4420-b4c8-2a4b10e90ccf

Yes I would try a monitor before trying to hook it up to a tv .
If still no signal then try connecting a dvi cable to the integrated graphics port on your mobo . Then configure your system to use the dedicated video card .
