[PC] Screensaver interrupts game

Hi, bit of an odd one here. When playing the game, the screensaver comes in and interrupts things at the allotted time. I can usually just move the mouse and it goes back to the game. Sometimes the game seems to alt-tab out to desktop on it's own at the time, sometimes the screen goes blank. Usually I can get back into the game but it has hung at least once. This happened when finishing the first main quest 'lilac and gooseberries' and watching the cutscenes. The screensaver tried to kick in but the game went to desktop and when i tried to go back it was stuck on a shopkeeper screen and wouldn't respond.

I could turn the screensaver off whenever I wanted to play but that would get annoying. I don't think I've ever seen the screensaver come on while playing a game before!

Has this happened to anyone else?

This has also happened to me, though it hasn't actually disturbed gameplay for me (yet). It seemed to pause rather than continue playing or any such thing. I'm going to investigate if there's some setting in personalisation (something like 'don't screensave while this program is running') but really the computer should already know that, since I never had this issue in other games.

This happened to me as well. It took a while to figure out that it was the screen saver kicking on that was messing up the game. As a workaround I just made it a habit to move the thumbstick constantly during dialog and cutscenes. It's less than ideal and sometimes I forget which makes it so I have to replay the part over, but I'm glad I figured out what was causing. Sometimes I'm able to alt+tab back to the game, but then I get severe screen tearing until switch it video mode to windowed, and back to full screen.

Hopefully they'll add a fix for this since this is the only game I've encountered this problem.
