Holy crap man O.O
There are a couple 4k videos on Ultra settings making the rounds that were recorded on (at least) 1Titan X (Im relying on google translate and youtube comments to gather that info on the second video). If you look closely in the upper right corner you'll see the fraps counter which hovers between upper 20s and mid 30s.

So I think you'll be ok so long as the SLI is working as intended.

Yea should be ok with AA off as it doesnt really need it at that res. As you said if sli is working well it.

@huber1989 The stated system requirements were put out long before optimization of the game had yielded any useful results. The apparent result, which is that the optimization of the game was a great success, reflects the hard work of the engineers, not any kind of falsehood. Therefore, further statements to the effect that the stated system requirements are somehow "crap" or bogus are going to be treated as flamebait.

That was a general statement about system requirements. I did in no way intend any kind of insult, it's just my experience that you can basically never rely on official system requirements precisely because developers tend to reveal them early and/or have to be careful not to over-promise. No flamebait or somesuch intended. :)

What is the rest of your PC? CPU, motherboard, power supply, total RAM, etc? A second hand or new HD7870 could increase your performance with 70% when using crossfire. Off course your motherboard and power supply must be able to handle it.

Like I said I'm no tech guy :) I prefer to play on the PC mostly due to mouse and keyboard + proximity to the screen.

However I'm wondering if I can atleast run 1680 resolution with maxed textures without lag. I don't care that much about all kinda fancy effects. Only max resolution and max textures with little to no lag.

These are my PC specs, will I be having a bad time with this PC?

I have bad news, the i3 3220 and Gtx 660 gameplay is FALSE; it is ripped from this Youtuber`s video

Interested in Witcher 3 but....

...I'm looking at these incredibly high system requirements. I only have an older GTX 760, should I even bother picking this up on PC then?...

A 960 basically has the same performance as a 760. Also according to pcgameshardware "GTX 770 or R9 280X are sufficient for Ultra Settings @ FullHD". The 770 is only 10%~ faster than a 760.

Hey guys, the xbone has been benchmarked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVphjF8XCFE. Warning there are some huge spoilers in the beginning of the video. I SUGGEST STARTING THE VID AT 5:43

even if it is false i fully expect and 860m/750ti/660 to do high at least at 30 fps . Judging by nvidias mostly exaggerated req that a 960 can do 60 on high even if it is completely true the 750ti/660/860m are 2/3 the power and ought to perform well

Saw this just now too but hadn't read your post beforehand, really annoyed me that I saw that when there was honestly absolutely no reason for him to show that!! It's not really a big big spoiler especially since it appears to be right at the start of the game but still, would have been cool to see first time while playing. As they have said, DON'T watch until 5:43!!

That is bad.....so the day 1 patch makes the fps feel worse?

Let's put it this way: a GTX 660 is certainly more powerful than PS4/XBox so you should be fine having similar visuals.

I'm running a 970 with its 3.5 gb of RAM (now there's another hoo har)
I have been able to punish the card with Cryengine stuff (like Kingdom come deliverance alpha builds)
But the elelphant in the room thing with this card is that it can get 60fps but not solid so if you use vysnc or that adaptive thing to not get tearing the frame rate jumps are horrid. I expect to be playing this on ultra with hairworks at 30fps.
GTA V had this issue as well for me. Ended up having to knock back tesselation a touch and use DSR instead of antialiaising

This is what I was telling everyone about the recommended specs and people actually freaking out.

Nvidia has to sell cards so they pretend you need the 900 series. The only thing that they managed to add to the game was hairworks which can be offset by using another spare gpu. Or just turn it off. Ubersampling is just downsampling and you can force the game to run at 8k or 10k if you wish to tank the framerate.

For the level of visuals this game has compared to the initial trailer, those recommended specs are over estimated just like gta V. If it can run on the ps4 or xbone, you can bet it will run it great on hardware that exceeds it. Especially because nearly everyone with a gaming pc has a better cpu than those consoles. You can call it my speculation, but on release date the benchmarks will show this is true.

Sadly afaik you can not use a dedicated PhysX-Card for hairworks. I don't have source though, might be wrong. However I'm 99,9% sure the remaining PhysX is running on the CPU.

If it GPU based physx makes sure your second card is up to it.
I was using an old nvidia 9800 for physx until i realised it was giving worse performance. To have any beneficial effect you need at least a gtx560 to boost physx stuff.

I know it would be pretty much speculation, but does anyone have an info on nVidia gameworks in this title? In previous titles - such as FarCry 4 for example, the gamework features were separated: hair works, HBAO, sunrays etc. Any info on whether that will be the same here? Or will it be the full suite, ON or OFF with the click of a single button?
I'm running an i5 4440 and GTX 760 and was hoping to have a couple of the nVidia-specific settings active (as I hoped they'd be optimised better!)
Thanks!

You can turn them on/off separately.
