PC turns off during gameplay mostly during braindances

PC turns off during gameplay mostly during braindances. It wasn't the case few weeks ago. Tbh im clueless I do have a newest drivers, lowest specs possible even if i lowered resolution it still crashes. I just wanna 100% this game
Bellow specs:
gtx 1080 8gb
i7-8700
16 gb ram 2666
b360 pro4

Hi,
If your PC entirely turn off, it's likely more serious than an issue of the game itself.
So I suggest monitoring your PC (temps, usage, power consumption, etc...) to try figuring out why it turns off (also RAM diagnostic, in case).
You can also check the events viewer, to see if there is something wrong.

Yep, the game hasn’t received any updates this year, so if it’s a more recent change, it’s more likely an issue on your end, So it could have all sorts of reasons.

Before going all the way you can also check if the issue is gpu driver related. Clean installing drivers might help:

However, if the issue started after installing a newer gpu driver version, it might be better to go back to the previous version.

Your spec is good enough, but seems to be from high temp. Could be many other things, but you know how to go into your bios?

I had recently my pc checked and I there wasn't any problems with temperature, even during demanding games even cp77. So it might be a driver, but tbh i don't have idea what previous driver i had and there is no option for me to roll them back. Is there a way to know which one i had?

If you search for your graphic card on Nvidia website, you will find the last drivers.

Assuming you are on Win11, you should be on this version right now:

- Driver Version:582.66
- Release Date:Tue Jun 16, 2026

The previous one should be this one :

- Driver Version:582.53
- Release Date:Tue May 19, 2026

So try to rollback your drivers using DDU :

NVIDIA

1. Download the latest drivers from here.
2. Download Display Driver Uninstaller and run it to remove previous versions of drivers.
3. Clean install the drivers downloaded in step 1.

Honestly I doubt it's related to drivers, but cost nothing to check.

Yep, but when did you checked it?
Most of the time, breakdowns occur without warning: one day it works, the next it doesn't. I'm sure the game is triggering something on your system, but it is simply a "trigger", not the real culprit.

Yep, but like I said, breakdowns most often occur unexpectedly (one day everything is fine, the next it isn't). So unfortunately, just because you ran checks six months ago (or even last week) doesn't mean everything is fine today.
So to be sure, you should perform testings. For example, faulty RAM can cause PC shutdown. If it's the case, no matter what you will do on your PC, the issue will remains as long as your RAM is faulty.

From RAM to other things i think it could be hard drive. it's still hdd, during service it was mentioned that it's in bad state. Well my pc is kinda old too 10 years, idk if that's a big number, but I think it needs to be put to rest soon enough. I think i managed to overcome this problem for now. I uninstalled and installed game all over again it crashed, but when i lowered resolution and all details to lowest i managed to get through braindance sequence. I think its probably faulty data from all of the crashes acumulated and it could crash the pc? Idk but yeah that's the solution for now. Thank You for help guys. You are wonderful.

Just to make a point people often miss on temperature (just in case), if it's summer where you are and it has been warm, temperatures in your machine may be higher. So I wouldn't discount temperature entirely. There will be certain points in the game that for whatever reason use more computation, push the gpu (the forest scene in the meditation braindances was notorious for that on consoles and I recall one guy had to blow a fan on their console in summer to get through it), etc. They may cause temperature spikes that exceed your machine's ability to cool to safe temps if the room is warm.
