If you haven't got the money, buy a console, else you need to offer alot more on computer hardware/software. Consoles are primarily gaming machines, computers are multimedia machines.

Well it's not so easy in poland most people play here on pc cause if it's even more expensive, games on it are sometimes 3 TIMES cheaper than consloe games (mostly 2 tImes). So in Poland it is much cheaper to buy a pc if ya wanna play games

Wow that's awesome, getting games here for both PC and Consoles suck to be honest. According to a pole it's cheaper to buy and get a game imported than it is to buy one off a retailer here in Australia because they overcharge by twice the amount that other countries do. :wall: So I guess the message is if you want to get ripped off buy your games from a store or from a retailer! ;D

Well the prices are lower for pc games are lower cause we don't get as much money. but they MUST be translated on polish so we can't sell them in other countries. So it may be a problem. Console games are more expencive cause they CAN'T be translated.

I guess for countries from Europe, and anywhere else for that matter, that don't speak English and own a console would be getting the hard end of the stick. Hope the wait for translated PC games isn't too long! :D I personally was talking about getting the English PAL versions of games console wise. Though I must say it's not the smartest business, not translating console games though, that's just stupid. I mean I guess they're trying to save money (money issues are occurring because of how easy it is to get pirated games these days) and all that but it's still not really fair. I dunno I hope for other countries they start translating games, even if not solely as I am wanting to get into the industry and would want to get revenue in anyway and if that meant making the average gamer happy by translating a game to their native language I'd try to do it. Maybe it's just me!

I really don't care for translating them cause i know english. Translations make only kids lazy and less people wish to learn english. And also it sometimes take SO much time to translate it. Like Devil May Cry 4 PC it appeared at 8th July in USA and I have to wait to 4TH SEPTEMBER for it to appear (like what the hell will take them so much time?). It makes me mad cause im waiting for this game. :'( I can understand games like Mass Effect it has TONS of text and it was made in same time as Devil will be like what the heck?i'll end it here cause im getting a "little" off-top

I can see this thread was started some time ago, and it's still live, apparently. This is one of the oldest questions I see on a number of forums. The answer is simple: Depends on what game you're playing. If it's not able to be modded, then the console version is best. Reason: consoles are geared for nothing but gaming. 100% of their design is set up for games. If you can 'mod' the game at all, then you'll want this on a PC. Reason: it's hard to download and install a mod onto a console platform. Most mods are set up for PC enviornments. A few examples: Morrowind, Oblivion, The Witcher, Silent Hunter 3 and 4, Train Simulators by both Auren and Microsoft, as well as MS Flight Simulator. All would play great on a console, but you would loose the ability to use mods with them, and anyone who's played any of the above knows they're more fun when you can "adjust" the game to your liking. My personal preference is PC, mainly because that's what I've been using for around 20 years now. Of course, each new game comes out with tons of new requirements, especially revolving around memory and video card requirements. That, of course, can get real expensive.Hope that answers your question.

I'm an avid PC gamer, I am not sure if this topic was directed at the performance, or the games the PC has to offer. I am one of those gamers that mostly likes RPG and action/adventure games, yet as a PC gamer, and a many other PC gamers, we are getting shoved first person shooter after first person shooter and RTS after RTS through our throat. It feels there's a real lack of genre variety, that the consoles do offer.Due to not having much money, I must be content with upgrading my computer once every two years, so I happily embrace the PC as my gaming "base" , the problem is that the offer for games is ridiculously low. It's little jewels like the World of Warcraft, the Witcher, Neverwinter Nights (the first one, not the atrocity that is so devillishly called Neverwinter Nights 2), Spore, Mass Effect (aside its DRM troubles) that make PC gaming for a non FPS freak still bearable. The PC is without argueing the superior piece of hardware, but as for the majority of the games it offers, I feel pushed away. Just my two cents, as I wanted to discuss this, as I feel PC gaming is just a dying breed.best regards,KW

I hope you're wrong. Besides, without PCs there wouldn't be console games. ::)~ Roxy

Roxy?? that's a bloody coincidence :p hello! But yes, I do hope I'm wrong, but as a PC gamer, I just fear for the future of.. PC gaming, The Witcher is one of those few games that can stand out as a proof that PC gaming can still be great. Surely not every PC gamer likes RTS games. I like looking at them, but shove me the mouse in my right hand and I'm clueless :p . I don't blame consoles though, they're very stable machines, and I'm still very fond of the good times I had with my snes and ps2 .

I thought it was you
Anyway, considering that the Witcher is this popular, and games like NWN, NWN2, Mass Effect, etc. are all available for PC, AND the upcoming EE for the Witcher AND Dragon Age:Origins (eventually)....I'd say PC gamers don't need to worry for awhile.

Here, Here! Mind you I am not a big fan of the consoles, at least if it's not Nintendo. I just think that console games have lost the spark they once had, the only console that does anything for me these days is my Wii, Nintendo FTW. Maybe it's just me. ;DPs: love the animation, it's pretty sweet.

Yeah, Dragon Age does show promise, and I hope Bioware keeps its promise of it being a PC first title and doesn't get copped out by Microsoft again. And this EE of The Witcher interests me as well, I was wondering how *big* the changes are, have there been screenshots from this enhanced version already?best regards,KW

Allow me to stir the pot just a bit . . . Hate me if you must but, console games Do have their place in all of this! Here are the reasons1. I buy a game, I don't want to go through all this tweaking crap to play the game, I just want to play the game, get my drift2. I don't have the money to shell out to but or build a machine that is limited in it's capabilities . . . ( some times I can get a bit over whelmed by the abilities of a pc hence its seen as limited capabilities), purchases a more plainly laid out multi functional console. Example of this is the PS3. It won the DVD hi def war, its user friendly and it plays games. It is a neat multi media package all rolled up in one for about the third of a cost of a pc. The xbox 360 is a far better example of this but is a much weaker product, it can't seem to stand up to the riggers of continuous usage, but there again it is a testament to the quality of games and game play offered by the 360. There are days I just can't get enough! I feel though I should mention PS3 Will catch up in due time though, its got the hard ware, now its starting to put out the goods. These are two of the most important reason why folks buy the consoles in the first place! One might also argue a lack of computer savvy as well, but I think those are some of the big two reasons for my purchase of the game consoles I have purchased. I am not always in the mood to tweak that and look up this fix and that patch . . . I just wanna PLAY THE GAME!

Firstly, you must remember that consoles are often running at a fixed FPS at a lower resolution. Secondly, the "next generation" consoles are nowhere near the next-generation of PCs in terms of technology - you're comparing an apple and an orange. ;)

PC's are infinitely more capable and customizable, but that comes with a price. Plenty of technical glitches, hardware incompatibilities etc. Consoles provide a good machine for a low price point that is guaranteed to run any game that is on it with as few glitches as possible and the general ease of use is nice. I prefer fighting and racing games on consoles, but I enjoy RTS and RPG's more on a PC. FPS games I'm kinda neutral, depends entirely on how well it's made I guess.( Some console FPS games are amazing while some are horrible)Still, I REALLY like my anti-aliasing, can't live without it. Thank god for PC's.
