Performance- ATI

i just bought a pc with the spec like this

VGA : ATI RADEON HD 6950
RAM : 4GB DDR3
Procie : AMD phenom II X6 @3.5Ghz
MoBO : griffonomex3
OS: Vista sp 2 32bit

i already install the latest patch 1.3 but it seems that my rig is still not able to handle TW2 with the Uber Setting any solutions?

Unfortunately, nothing was introduced in 1.3 that would make the performance with Ubersampling on significantly better on this setup.
So the performance measurements for Ultra settings with Ubersampling enabled presented here should still be accurate: http://www.techspot.com/review/405-the-witcher-2-performance/page3.html

I don't think that ubersampling is really for current hardware.

I think that ubersampling is there to let TW2 age well.

And the game still looks great without it.

Just disable ubersampling.

No, it's DX9 only, if that's what you mean. No DX11 features.

Wow thats quite a beast of a computer. I take it you are currently using the 2600K or the S? I'm thinking of building a new computer,as my old one is ancient and I have to borrow the family one, if I want to play something better than mine sweeper. I have been thinking about a

i7 2600k (maybe overkill, i2500 may be better idea)
x2 6970 running in crossfire rather than the 6990
Sabertooth A67, new rev. 3.0(not sure on this)
Kingston 8GB DDR3, 2133Mhz (not sure on this, maybe too much)
450GB Velociraptor 32MB cache (10,000rpm)I already have an external hard drive so I don't need to go for the 600GB and a SSD is might be a bit too much for me at the moment with the capacity that I need

As to Power supply and Cooling
I have to find out if running x2 6970s etc is going to need a big supply does anyone know?

Would a Cosair 850w supply be enough, as I don't want to have to put in a completely new power supply a couple of years down the line if I upgrade

i5/7 2xxx without letter k are only for office rigs, they dont overclock at all, and especially for crossfire You need to OC CPU as much as You can.

850W PSU will be more than sufficient.

Really?
Well that is a god news.

I have read more than one post (in other forum) complaining about low FPS with high-end video cards.

I only have an HD-4890, I know is an old card. But when I try ubersampling the FPS drop to 8-15.

I not sure if it was just enabled or I set it on ultra.
My bad.

HDD: Maybe better will be SSD + Magazine for data? Or just RAID 0.
RAM: Not too much mhz for this motherboard? :E

Note:
Cooling - It can be solved by good case or just liquid cooling.
PSU - I think it's too much power for that config. Corsair makes good power supplies, anyway the "black list" is here: http://wklej.org/id/573035/

Dual 6970's are going to want a beast of a PSU. Those are 250W TDP each. A solid 750W model (you'll be wanting approx. 58 amps or 700W combined at 12V, more if you're running Velociraptors) would be the bare minimum; a top-of-the-line 850W model (Corsair TX, HX, or AX; Antec TPQ, Signature, or HC Pro; Seasonic X; etc.) would be very desirable; more than that would be overkill.

Thanks for the help people, it is much appreciated and something to consider whilst I read some more articles before I come to a decision.
